Love Is Patient Card

Hello!  Hope you are having a great week!  I have been organizing and purging my craft room.  Its been at least 3 years since I did a big clean of the room and I have so much stuff.  Its time to be practical and get rid of the stuff I am not going to use, ya know? 

But luckily, I have a card to share with you today.  Here is a card I made for Flower Soft Wire Works challenge.  I used a sentiment from the January Kit of The Month from Unity.

I made some wire flowers using Flower Soft Wires & Poppy Red Flower Soft.  I wrapped it in some tulle ribbon, tied a gingham bow and added a cute little heart charm.  The base of this card is Posh True Black Linen Cardstock 80#.  I layered a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory onto Posh Red Linen Cardstock 80#.  The small strip of patterned paper is from Echo Park.  I stamped the sentiment onto the ivory using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut/embossed using S4-246 Labels Eleven #3 and matted it onto a Labels Eleven #4 cut/embossed from the black cardstock.

{Heart} U! Flower Soft Challenge!

This week, the Flower Soft design team was challenged to make a card with a heart on it and incorporate Poppy Red Flower Soft into the project!  Easy....peasy!!    LOL

I used stamps from the January Kit of the Month from Unity Stamps to make this 5 1/4" square card.  The base is made from Posh True Black Linen Cardstock 80#.  This is a really sturdy cardstock so I used my Scor-pal to score it and then folded it.  I cut a piece of Kraft Smooth Cardstock 80# to layer the panel of Simply Smooth White on.  I stamped all the images on a scrap piece of white cardstock using Tuxedo Black memento ink and cut them out.  I did that for the playing cards, too.  I used Really Red Classic Ink pad.  Before adhere the tickets into place, I added the Poppy Red Flower Soft using Flower Soft glue.

FSC44 True Blue!

This week's Flower Soft challenge is to make something with the color blue and include some Flower Soft products.  It's an easy challenge!   Be sure to check out the Flower Soft Blog for all the details on how to participate in this challenge.   Here are my cards for this week!

For these two pop-up cards, I used the Mabel Lucie Atwell Card-Making kit.  Everything but the sentiments (which I printed out on the computer) and the twine came in the kit.  The kit includes pop-up foam squares and the envelopes!  Its a great kit full of the cutest images!  I love that smiling, dancing little girl!  So cute!

Flower Soft Wire Works!

This week's Flower Soft challenge was to use Flower Soft Wires & Fuschia Mixed Color on any project.  Well, as you know I have a college student who needs to decorate her college dorm room for Valentine's Day.  So here is what I came up with!

I cut/embossed some old hymnal paper using the Classic Heart Nestabilities® from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.  I inked the edges using Tattered Rose distress ink.  Using my Scor-tape, I added some vintage lace around the edge of the hearts. I made some Flower Soft Stems using wires, Flower Soft Glue & Fuschia.  I bundled 3 of the stems along with a pearl hat pin and some ribbon tulle and tied it all together using some twine.  Here is a close-up....

I added a lock charm to the twine and seam binding ribbon to complete the bundle and then using my hot glue gun, adhered this into place onto my heart.  I had already added the large brads to make this a wall hanging.  I printed the names onto Simply Smooth White cardstock and punched them out using a label punch.  I inked up the edges with the distress ink and glued this into place using 3d foam squares.

Step It Up! Flower Soft Challenge

Today its time for another Flower Soft project!  I have a little bit of a different style of project to share with you.  We were to use the new Mabel Lucie Atwell kits from Flower Soft and the challenge was called Step-It-Up!  So I thought a great way to step up a Flower Soft project was to make something other than a card.  Here is a shaped tag I made using the Mabel Lucie Atwell Kit #8 and some Diamond Range Gold Flower Soft.

 

Don't you just love those kids?  They are so cute.  I started this tag by cutting some chipboard into a house shape.  I totally eyeballed this so I don't really have any special instructions.  I covered all the chipboard with scraps of patterned paper from The Girls Paperie.  Right above the scalloped edge of the paper I added a strip of Scor-Tape and on the Scor-Tape I sprinkled some Diamond Range Gold Flower Soft.  For this look, its best to press the Gold into the Scor-Tape so it will stick really well.  I added the vintage lace from my stash using Scor-Tape, too.  I printed out the Love Is....on my computer.  I fussy cut the kids out of the Flower Soft kit and glued them into place.  This was such a fun project for me!

Flower Soft Wednesday!

Well, its the first Flower Soft Wednesday of 2012.  The Flower Soft team has added some new members and I would like to welcome them to the team!  Be sure to check out the Flower Soft Blog to meet all the new members of our very talented team.

Here is a cute project I made using Flower Soft Fuschia Mixed Color in a little different way.

To make this frame, I first die cut some Grunge Paper (yes, it cuts GREAT in the Grand Calibur) using the S4-310 Labels Eighteen.  I used die numbers #3 & 4 to cut the grunge paper frame.  Then I coated the grunge paper with Flower Soft glue and sprinkled the Fuschia Flower Soft all over.  I lightly pressed the sprinkles into the glue since I wanted everything covered really well.  Then after it dried, I finished my card!  I used some more old hymnal papers and the sentiment was printed out using my computer.  The font is called Mom's Typewriter from www.dafont.com.  I have been using it alot lately!  I cut/embossed the sentiment out using S4-324 Ribbon Banners.  Then I used some Antique Linen Distress Ink to sponge around the edges.   The base of the card is Orchid Cardstock #67 from www.discountcardstock.com

Here is my project using Penny Black "T for Transparent" set called Flowers & Wishes".  I used some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft to highlight the center of the flower.  I kept my card simple and made 12 of them.  I am going to give these cards as a gift to a special friend for her birthday.  I varied the sentiments so she can use them for different occasions.

Here is a close-up of the Ultra Fine Black I used as an accent for the center of my flower.

Merry Christmas! FSC43

Hello!  Hope you have all your Christmas shopping done and will have plenty of relaxing time before the big day.  Yeah, right!  Not me, either!!  LOL  But I did take time out to participate in this week's Flower Soft Challenge.  This weeks challenge is to make a project geared around the holidays.

For my card today, I used a digi image that I printed here at home.......I got the image from one of my local stamp stores - Red Lead Paperworks.  Its a great vintage image that I thought would really look great highlighted with some Polar White Flower Soft.

I gave my paper distresser a work out on this card!  LOL  I used a page from an old hymnal for the backgroun.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is stamped onto a circle cut from Standard Circle Nestabilities Sm.  Around the outside of the circle I added the tinsel ribbon.  Here is a close-up.....

I think the Flower Soft Polar White added just the right touch!  I also used some Silver Peel Offs in the corners for some added detail.

Under my cute little ice skating polar bear, I used some Ultra Fine Flower Soft White.  Since the Flower Soft glue dries clear, you can still see the little bit of copic marker I used to highlight the "ice".
