Dusty Rose Bendi Card

Hello Friends!  You know what day it is, it's Wednesday and that means it is time for another Heartfelt Creations project.  This week, I tried a new-to-me fancy fold.  This week I created a Bendi card.  I have seen a bunch of these very neat cards and decided I would give it a try.  I will say that I used an SVG cut file for my Silhouette to create my Bendi card because it also has an envelope you can create for this unique card.  If you don't have a digital cutter, you can easily create this card.  Just google the Bendi Card technique and you will find many sizes and ways of creating this card.

Instructions: Finished card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". To begin, I used a SVG cut file for a Bendi card that included an envelope that the card would fit in. (If you don’t have a digital cutter, Silhouette, Cricut, etc., you can google the Bendi card and find all kinds of different sizes.) Once my bendi card pieces were cut, I set them aside.

For the top edge of the bendi card, I die cut a regal borders dies from burgundy card. I adhered that into place as shown. Then I die cut another of the regal borders die from the burgundy cardstock and then I trimmed the border so that it would fit the middle portion of the card as shown. Once those borders where adhered into place, I covered my 3 sections of the card with patterned paper from the collection. I used 2 - 6" x 6" panels that are included in the collection for this card. I cut the first 6" x 6" panel so that the sentiment would be in the top right hand corner of the card as shown. The other strips were cut from the second 6" x 6" panel. Once the bendi pieces where covered with patterned paper, I adhered my card together. I used a craft knife to cut the slits where they were needed to assemble the card.

Next I created the roses and leaves to decorate the card. I stamped the two smaller stamps in the Classic Rose stamp set onto white cardstock using Toffee Crunch ink. I die cut them with the matching dies and then sponged them with the Victorian Velvet distress ink. Then I used the Deluxe flower shaping kit to shape and create all my flowers.

I stamped the green patterned paper with the vine image from Classic Rose Vines set using olive ink. I die cut the vines with the matching die and shaped them with my deluxe flower shaping kit. Then I assembled all my flowers and leaves.

 

Let's Celebrate!

Hello Friends!  If you have been paying attention to some of my recent projects and videos, then you will know that my oldest daughter is getting married in about a year.  We are very excited and just love our future son-in-law.  Because of the up-coming wedding, I have been on the look out for  wedding themed paper crafting items.  I found the perfect range of products in the Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Together Forever.  The whole line is just perfect for wedding showers, weddings and anniversaries.  Here is a project I created using this new collection and the newly released shaped-card dies - "Nicole" Create-A-Card Bases.

Here is my project.......

I used the Nicole Create-A-Card bases die to create the base of the card from white cardstock.  Plus I cut a smaller die in the set from white cardstock and the decorated vellum cardstock.  I adhered the vellum to the white cardstock die cut and added the ribbon at the side before I used 3d foam squares to adhere this layer to the card base.  I die cut the Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Together Forever Champagne Flute Dies from white cardstock and then I left the die cut in the die and sponged the open areas using Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink pad.  I added more of the gold ink around the edges of the glasses.  I cut the Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Together Forever Celebrate die from some Gold Mat Cardstock.  Before I die cut the "Celebrate", I added some Stick It! adhesive sheet onto the back of the gold mat cardstock.  That way when I went to adhere the delicate words into place, I just removed the backing and it stuck right were I put it!!

Botanic Orchid Step Card

Hello friends!  Today is Wednesday so that means I have a Heartfelt Creations project to share with you.  Today is also a new release day for Heartfelt Creations......Showy, elegant and graceful, the divine orchid flower is one that is most certainly recognizable for its unique shape and known for taking center stage all on its own!  Heartfelt Creations presents to you their newest collection…The Botanic Orchid.  Overflowing with stunning floral images enveloped in soothing moss like greens, soft sky blues, creamy whites and flowery pinks, alongside rich burgundies and vibrant teals this collection is sure to appeal to any flower enthusiast.

For my first project using this beautiful collection, I created a Center Step card.

Creating these orchid flowers is fun and easy.  Plus I think the Center Step Card is a perfect card base to show them off!

Instructions: To create the Center Step Card base, cut the white cardstock to 5 1/2" x 11". Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that the edge of the card is at the 1" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" and cut from 1" to 6 1/2". Flip the cardstock and do the same to the other side. Place cardstock onto scoring board and score along the long side of the card from the edge to the cut line at 1", 2", and 6 1/2". Do the same on the other side of the card. Score between cut lines at 5 1/2". Fold at the score lines. The first, third and center score lines are mountain folds. The second score line is a valley fold. Use your bone folder to get crisp fold lines.

Stamp the Botanic Orchid stamp onto white cardstock using sky blue ink. I stamped three large and three medium orchids. Color the middle of the flowers with sky blue ink and die cut with the matching dies. See the video on how to shape these orchid flowers.

Stamp the orchid with green vines from the Regal Hummingbird stamp set onto green cardstock using green ink. I stamped this 6 times and die cut it with the matching die.

Cut strips of paper from the Botanic Orchid Paper collection for the sides and bottom of the center step card. Cut a rectangle for the center portion. Adhere all these pieces into place onto the Center step card.

Die cut the Botanic Window die (outside) twice from the sky blue cardstock and the inside once from a piece of patterned paper from the collection. Adhere the patterned piece onto one of the window die cuts. Using thin pieces of foam tape, adhere the other window die cut onto this to create a frame. Adhere onto center of the card.

Adhere stems and flowers into place as shown. Stamp sentiment using teal ink onto white cardstock and die cut with a label die. Adhere the sentiment into place. Tie the ribbon into a bow along the bottom of the card to complete the project.

A Center Step Card

Hello friends!  How are you doing on this fine Monday?  I have gotten off to a slow start but I am finally getting things done.  Don't forget to comment on my Pocket Pen Pal post for a chance to win the Pocket Page I created.  You can find that blog post HERE.   Now on to today's project.  I created a Center Step card for my daughter's birthday last week and wanted to share it with you after her birthday!

Here is my card......

To create this card, I used the tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers.  The beautiful flowers are from the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners - Wild Rose-Briar stamp set.  This stamp set has a matching die, too.    This stamp set is in the Perfect Partners line from Crafter's Companion.  I stamped the images onto some watercolor paper using Jet Black Staz-on.  Then using the Spectrum Noir Vintage Sparkle Markers - Vintage Tea - Biscuit; Vintage Home - Hearthside; Vintage Bloom - Sage; Falling Leaves - Smoked Quartz; Clear Overlay - I colored the flowers and stem then blended the colors using the Clear Overlay.  When you use watercolor paper with the Sparkle Markers, you can move the color around just like you were watercoloring but you get the most beautiful shimmer!  It is so awesome!  For the bottom of the card, I used the Edge'ables Only Words - Just For You die.  I thought that went perfect with this type of card.  It can be hard to add a sentiment to this card, so the edge dies work perfectly.

My daughter loved the card so Yeah for me!  LOL

Blazing Poppy Triple Easel Card with Video Tutorial

Hello friends!  Today I have a beautiful Triple Easel Card to share with you using the newest collection, Blazing Poppy Collection, from Heartfelt Creations!  I really love the beautiful papers, stamps and dies in this collection.  I also had alot of questions about making a Triple Easel Card and how I shape flowers, so in this video I show you how to create this card and how I shaped the flowers, too!   Scroll down to see my video!

Project Instructions: 

Other Products: Big Scalloped Circles Lg, Big Scalloped Circles Small, Classic Circles Sm & Lg (Spellbinders Paper Arts), Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, rust satin ribbon, 3d foam squares, Brown 12" x 12" cardstock, brown seed beads, white twine.

Instructions: To create this Triple Easel Card, you need to cut the brown cardstock into three pieces - one 4 1/2" x 9", one 4" x 8" and one 3 1/2" x 7". Fold each in half. Using the 3 largest sets of scalloped circles dies in your set, place the die so that part of the die is off the folded edge. Run these through your die cutter to create a scalloped shape card. Now you will fold the top part of this little scalloped circle in half (this creates the easel for each card). Adhere the bottoms of the three scalloped circles together to form your card. Now you will need to die cut some more to decorate your card. I cut/embossed the three corresponding scalloped circles out of brown cardstock and three smaller circles out of patterned paper to mat onto my circles. (See sample.) Adhere your patterned paper and scalloped cardstock together and then using scor-tape adhere to the easels on your card.

Now you get to have fun decorating your easel card. Stamp the Blazing Poppy Petals stamp 6 times onto the burgundy patterned paper (from the Blazing Poppy Collection) and die cut with the Blazing Poppy Die. Stamp 2 of the large leaves and 4 of the smaller leaves from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp set onto green patterned paper from the collection. Die cut these leaves using the matching dies from the Delightful Daisy Die. Using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, shape the flowers. You will make 3 small poppies, 1 medium poppy and 1 large poppy. I used 3 flowers of each size to make all of my flowers. Add some brown seed beads in the middle of each flower. Decorate your Triple Easel Card using embellishments from the paper collection as shown in the picture. Click here for a video of how to create this card.

Project Instructions: 

Other Products: Red cardstock, brown seed beads, EK Success Edge punch, satin ribbon, Clear Wink of Stella pen, 3d foam squares.

Instructions: Cut a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock to 5 1/2" x 10 1/2". Then score vertically at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4". Turn the cardstock 90 degrees and cut from the first score line to the last score line at 1 1/2" from each edge. Accordion fold at the score lines making sure to use the bone folder to get crisp folds. Open up the card and fold the middle section the opposite way to create the pictured tri-fold.

To help you decorate this card, here are the measurements for each panel: 2 end pieces - 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"; 2 Small middle pieces - 1 1/2" x 2 3/8"; 1 Large Middle Piece for stamping - 2 1/4" x 3 3/8"; 4 small rectangles - 1 1/2" x 1 1/4"; 2 top/bottom pieces - 1 3/8" x 3 1/4".

Using the papers from the Blazing Poppy Collection, decorate your tri-shutter card as shown. Be sure to add the ribbon to the middle panel before adhering it into place. To create poppy flowers, stamp the Blazing Poppy Petals cling stamp set onto light patterned paper using the Espresso Truffle ink 3 times. Die cut with matching die and sponge flowers with the Rose Coral Chalk ink. Shape poppies using the Deluxe Flower shaping kit and glue 2 of the same sized flowers together. Add the brown seed beads in the centers of flowers. You will need one medium sized flower and 3 small flowers. Die cut the Everyday Hero Die from the red cardstock. Adhere into place on front of card as shown. Stamp the leaves from the Delightful Daisies set onto green patterned paper and die cut with the matching die. Use three of the smallest leaves in the set onto the front panel of the card. Adhere the leaves and flowers into place as shown. Add the sentiment ticket into place using 3d foam squares to complete card.
