A Golden Anniversary Card

Hello friends!  I have been having so much fun this summer with my family.  I hope you have been having a good summer, too.  Summer is almost over and it has gone by so fast!  In just 2 weeks, we will be moving my youngest daughter to college.  Then in just a couple of months after that, our middle daughter will be getting married.  Life is moving by fast here at my house even if I don't want it to move that fast.

This past weekend, we had a bridal shower for my middle daughter.  My oldest daughter came home for the week to help me get things ready and it was really fun.  Everything turned out so nice and it was very nice to have all my daughter's home!    Here is a picture of the centerpieces I created using my Silhouette and some Rose Gold Luxury Cardstock (Crafter's Companion).  My daughter has loved Toy Story since the first time she saw the movie and when she became engaged her fiance' ingraved "To Infinity And Beyond" inside her engagement ring so we decided that was a great theme for our shower.

 

But now it's time for me to get back to creating.  A friend of mine needs a 50th Anniversary card for some friends.  So I got out some supplies from Crafter's Companion and created something simple but elegant!

The supplies I used are mostly from Crafter's Companion.  I used the Die'sire Classic Flourish classiques dies for the flourish inset.  The numbers are from the Die'sire 1" Numbers & Punctuation Decorative die set and the sentiment was stamped using the Crafter's Companion Decadent Flowers clear stamp set.  I used black cardstock for the base, Gold - Matte & Mirror - Luxury Cardstock plus some Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock for the main panel.  I will put a piece of white cardstock inside with a simple Happy Aniiversary sentiment just printed with my computer.  Here is a closer look.....

This card measures 5 1/4" square.  That is a favorite size for me but will require extra postage if you mail because it's a square.  I think my friend will really like this and you could definitely make this into a wedding card just by changing the colors and the sentiments!

Here is my project for today's hop.....

 For my project today, I created a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" card using the Santa's Sleigh die from Tonic Studios USA.  I love the embossed detail on this die.  I also added some flowers I die cut from the Radiant Roselily die set and some holly leaves from the 138E Mini Wreath Decorations Die.  The brushed gold cardstock was from my stash and I am surprised it didn't have dust on it!  LOL  I used the an A4 Embossing Folder - Martha for the gold layer.    In the center of the flowers, I added some Golden Crystal Glimmer Paste.  Here is a closer look.....

Craft Hoarder's Anonymous Monthly Blog Hop!

 This month, I have a fun project to share with you that I created using Crafter's Companion stamps, dies and markers.  Plus I created a video tutorial to show you how I colored the flowers and how easy it is to use Stick It!

In this video, I will be showing you how to use the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers with a paint brush plus a couple of other ways to color with them.  I also show you how to use Stick It! to adhere the leaf die cut.  

 

 

 

Here is a closer look at my card!  I think you can see just a bit of the sparkle.  In real life, the sparkle is awesome!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous April Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Today is April 5!  Can you believe that?  I know it kinda took me by surprise.  One the fifth of the month, the Craft Hoarders have a blog hop to encourage you to use some supplies you have in your crafty hoard.  If you are following along on the hop, you should have come from Marisa's blog.  If you are just starting here on my blog, hop on over to Gloria Stengel's blog to start the hop from the beginning.  This month we didn't have a theme but I did dig out some papers I have had for awhile to create my project.  

Here is my projects......

 

I created this card with matching little basket using supplies from Crafter's Companion.  This patterned paper is not double-sided but it is a very big size - 11 x 17".  So if I had wanted to create a larger basket, this would have been the perfect paper.  The paper collection is called Springtime.  It comes in package of 20 sheets so there are 10 designs with 2 sheets of each design.  Like I said, the paper measures 11 x 17" so you get alot of paper!  I used  a sentiment from the Sentimentals EZ Mount Stamp Set - Verses.  Plus I used my favorite die set, Chantilly Lace Stamping Frame from the Die'sire line.  

The little basket was made using the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers called Slatted Basket.  I used the smallest measurements listed in the tutorial.  The basket only meaures like 2" square....so it is really small!  I used a new-to-me embossing folder called Decadent Rose Embossalicious 8x8 folder.  It is really pretty!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous February Blog Hop

Hello friends!  It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the February Craft Hoarders Hop.  If you started at the begininng of the hop, you should be coming from Gloria Stengel's blog.  If you started here on my blog, please visit Gloria's blog to see her awesome project.   This month we didn't have a theme or anything so I started looking around on Pinterest and 5 hours later, I decided what I would make..LOL    I recently received a some Tonic Studios Nuvo Glitter and wanted to show a way to use it that didn't include paper.  So this is what I came up with.

I found some jars that were in my recycle bin and decided that turning them into a home decor decoration would be a great idea!  So I even created a video to show you how I made these.

 

 

 

In this video, I also show you how to use Tonic Studios Nuvo Gilding Flakes to give the rim of the jars a really unique look!  So I hope you will dig thru your recycle bin and turn some old jars into a cool home decor piece!

Craft Hoarder's January Blog Hop!

Hello Friends!  It's that time of the month again!  Time for me to dig thru my stash of supplies and find something to make for fun to share with you for the Craft Hoarders Monthly Blog Hop!  If you are following the hop, you are coming from Gloria Stengel's blog.  So glad you stopped by today!  Now that Christmas is over, I can finally put away my Christmas crafty stuff and get out my Valentine's Day stuff!  LOL  So today I used some 6x6 Prima Papers, vintage music papers and lace to create this card!

 

The patterned papers are from the Romance Novel 6x6 paper pad from Prima.  I used some old vintage music sheets to cut out my flowers from the Die'sire Delicate Flower die by Crafter's Companion.  The stamp is from the Only Words From The Heart stamp set from Crafter's Companion also.  The lace, flower centers, leaves and seam binding are all from my stash!  It was fun to be able to use some of these things!

Crafter Hoarders Anonymous December Blog Hop

Hello Friends!  It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for another fun blog hop with the Craft Hoarders.  If you are following along on the hop, you will have come from Gloria Stengel's blog.  If not, you might want to go back and start from there!  Today I have a Christmas home decor piece that I created using my Silhouette Cameo.  Now I know that we are supposed to use up our hoarded supplies but my Silhouette Cameo is just sitting here gathering dust!  It's in my hoard, right?  Here is my project.....

To create the star, I downloaded a 3d star svg file from the Silhouette Online Store.  I resized the star to use an entire 12 x 12 piece of paper.  I cut the base of the star from Kraft cardstock.  The patterned paper comes from the Heartfelt Creation Sparkling Poinsettia Collection.  I also used the poinsettia stamps and matching dies to create my flowers from that same collection.  I stamped the poinsettias in Versamark ink onto red cardstock and sprinkled on some Ranger Gold Embossing powder.  After I heat set the powder, I die cut the flowers using the matching dies and got busy shaping them and layering them.  Here is a close-up.....

This is going to be a star to hang on my wall next to my Christmas tree.  My hubby is going to add some string so I can hang all our Christmas cards underneath the star.  I will post pictures of it when it's all done.  I think this will be a great way to display our Christmas cards!

October Craft Hoarders Hop!

Hello Friends!  Today is the 5th day of the month (Oh my gosh where did the time go?) so that means it's time for another Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog hop.   If you are following along on the hop that means you have come from Vicki's blog.  If you want to start the hop at the beginning, please go to Gloria's blog!  

 This month, we don't have any theme and since I was gone for 2 weeks last month, that means I have some goodies sitting around that I haven't touched.  So here is my project using some really wonderful dies from Crafter's Companion!

I created a gift bag using a regular brown paper lunch sack.  I used some new Crafter's Companion Die'sire Edge'ables dies - Butterfly Dreams and Just for You!  I thought these dies were perfect for this bag.  The Butterfly Dreams die is just so beautiful......it looks like the butterflies are just flying off, doesn't it?    Here is a close up........

The best thing about these dies are how easy they are to use.  Just place this Butterfly Dreams die along the edge of your cardstock and run it thru the machine.  I did use some waxed paper just in case it was hard to remove the die cut but everything cut on the first pass!  I ran this die thru cutting the edge of a piece of soft sky cardstock and then cut a piece of mirror silver cardstock.  I cut the butterflies from the silver cardstock and glued them into place.  I love the look!
