A Few More Christmas Card Ideas....

Hello friends!  It's November and the weather is more like December or January!  It's been pretty cold, wet and overcast.  Plus this week we are supposed to get some snow.  I am not enjoying the idea of that, that's for sure!  But it does really help you get in the mood for the Holiday season, doesn't it?  I asked my hubby when he is putting up the Christmas tree.  He looked at me kinda funny but I think I can get it put up in the next week or so!  LOL

I have been working on Christmas cards this week and have a few more to share.  I will tell you that, for the most part, I have used craft supplies that are in my stash.  I have so many wonderful crafting supplies and it's a shame to not use them.  Remember that I am selling my cards now and have a Facebook group you can join to see them.  Just let me know in the comments or shoot me an email if you are interested.

Here are my cards.....

This card features my favorite stamp set from Hero Arts called Color Layering Cardinal.  It's a multi-step stamp set with matching dies.  I really love it!  I stamped the images and die cut them.  I used a stitched rectangle and circle die on the white layer of the card and added some soft blue patterned paper in the circle to simulate a sky behind the cardinal.  This will definitely cost extra to mail but it's totally worth it!  LOL

For this card, I used the Neat & Tangled Nativity Play set with the matching dies.  I colored the images using my Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers.  Those markers are really awesome, since all three blending colors on in ONE marker!!  I added some gold mirror cardstock and heat embossed the stars with gold embossing powder.

I am selling both of these cards in sets of 4 or 8.  Just let me know if you are interested or would like to be added to my Facebook group!

Some Christmas Cards to share...

Hello friends!  Now that it's getting colder and the leaves are starting to fall, it's time to start thinking about Christmas cards.  I have been creating some cards from my stash and been having a really good time doing it!  I have a Facebook group where I showcase the cards I have for sale this holiday season.  If you want to join my group, just shoot me an email and I will send you an invite!

Here are a few I have created so far.

For these three cards, I used a new sentiment set from Simon Says Stamp called Holiday Greetings Mix 1 - Cheer and Joy.  I had plenty of cardstock, patterned paper and other embellishments to create alot of cards!  These are all fairly simple and I am hoping they will not require extra postage.  All three of these cards are the A2 size - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".

The next two cards use the same sentiment and the Christmas Foilage wafer die set.  I thought the Christmas Foilage die set would be very versatile and I was right.  It works with so many stamp sets and other stuff in my stash!

For this card, I die cut the Christmas Foilage die set from glitter and mirror cardstocks.  I have tons of Christmas colors in these cardstocks from Crafter's Companion.  I used white glitter, gold, red and green mirror cardstocks.   I heat embossed the sentiment onto white cardstock using gold embossing powder.

Gold Holy Family Cards

Hello friends!  Did you have a good time shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday?  I know I sure did!  I had a set budget I could spend on some crafty sales and I blew it after just visiting two websites!  LOL  I bought some super cute stamps and dies from Neat & Tangled and then I bought a bunch of cardstock from Stampin' Up!.  It doesn't seem to matter who I work with or who I puchase stamps from, I always end up back with Stampin' Up purchasing the cardstock.  It's just the right heaviness and the colors are always just right! 

Speaking of Stampin' Up....do you have a favorite stamp set that is retired?  Well I used my most favorite set to create some Christmas cards for my family to send out this season.

I embossed the Holy Family image using gold detail embossing powder and backed that with gold mirror cardstock.  I added an embossed panel of snowflakes and more mirror cardstock plus the ribbon and sentiment to complete the card.  I think these are so simple and elegant.  But most of all the reminder that Christmas is all about Our Savior's birth is the best part of this card!

Gold Deer & Snowflake Card

Hello friends!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Our holiday was really wonderful.  The week before Thanksgiving, our family met up at a condo in Branson, MO and enjoyed some time together at Silver Dollar City.  It was wonderful and a great way to start off the Holidays! 

 

This is a picture of my two oldest daughters and myself.  Our youngest daughter wasn't able to come with us but the good news is that she made the All-State Choir!  We missed her being with us but we are so very proud of her.

While I have been busy having fun with Family, I did create a few more Christmas cards.  Have you started your cards or Christmas crafts?  I sure hope so!  Here is one of the cards I created for a family member to send out this year.

This card measures 5 x 7".  I used Crafter's Companion Gold Mirror Luxury cardstock.  I love how this turned out.  The gold against the white cardstock looks so elegant.  The snowflakes are from the Crafter's Companion Sparkling Snowflakes 1 & 2 die sets.  The reindeer is from the Sara Signature Collection - Scandinavian Christmas.  the sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set and I added a bit of gold twine behind the sentiment just to finish it all off.  

I did create a smaller version (A2 size) of this card.  I used an embossing folder to supply some of the snowflakes and just added a few gold snowflakes.  This was a bit faster to create and it's a "normal" size card.

Here are the two cards together.  I like both versions!  

Hope I have given you some good ideas for your Christmas cards today.  I am still creating cards and other projects so I will have lots to share.  I already made some Christmas Cracker Toffee to give as gifts to some special friends this weekend.  So now I will need to create some special cards to go with the toffee.  This is one of my most favorite recipes.  Everyone who tries it just loves it!  Check out this recipe!!

Blue & Silver Christmas

Another HSN Crafty Day Coming!

Hello friends!  It's time for another crafty day with Crafter's Companion on HSN (Home Shopping Network).  I am actually giving you a bit of a head's up this time because the crafty day is November 6!  I have been having so much fun creating projects for this show.  I have a bunch of projects to share with you over the next week and I hope you will check out all the fun stuff on HSN on November 6.  You can check out everything that is going to be on the show from Crafter's Companion HERE plus there will be air times listed soon!

One of the bundles that Crafter's Companion will be showcasing on this show is a Core Nested Die bundle.  It's a very good essentials bundle of squares, circles, rectangles and oval dies.  There are three styles in each shape - Stitch Edge, Torn Edge and Scalloped.  The Stitch Edge is my absolute favorite!  

Here are a couple of cards I created using some of the Stitch Edge dies.....

For this card, I used the Square Stitch Edge dies and the Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Winter Wonderland papers.  I love the added interest the stitched edge gives to this card.  The sentiment is a die cut from the Gemini Festive Words 1 die set cut from some Winter Wonderland Luxury Cardstock.

For this card I used the Torn Edge and the Stitch Edge square dies.  First I die cut a bunch of squares from the different patterns of paper and adhered those squares onto the white cardstock. The patterned paper is from the Signature Collection by Sara Davies - A Winter's Tale.   Then I used the Torn Edge Square die to die cut the piece to size!  I added the  Word's of the Season (from A Winter's Tale) sentiment die cut in Gold Mirror Luxury cardstock to the bottom to give the card a touch of elegance.  The gold ribbon adds just the right touch, don't you think??

I have quite a few more projects to share with you over the next week and I hope I give you some new ideas on ways to use these new dies!
