Hello friends! Hope you are having a good week so far! It's summer vacation here at our house. Which just means I get to sleep in one whole hour more than usual! LOL As part of the Crafter's Companion design team, I get fun boxes of goodies to try out and make projects. A few months ago, I got the Foil Transfer Sets with Gold, Copper and Silver foil. Now I know alot of people love to foil using all kinds of different machines and such. But these foil transfers work like the old-style Rub-Ons we all used to use for scrapbooking and cardmaking. For these types of foil transfers, all you need is the transfers, foil and a popsicle stick. After trying them out, I decided it would be even easier if I used my Gemini Die cutting and Embossing machine instead of the popsicle stick and I was right!
Here is my card.....
So these work just like regular rub-ons work. Just expose the sticky part of the transfer and place it on your cardstock. Rub it with the popsicle stick or put it thru your die cutting machine. Then cut a piece of the foil that will fit over the transfer and apply it. Now you can rub it with the stick or put it thru your die cutting machine. I really got the best results by putting it thru my die cutting machine. I tried it on all the die cutting machines I have - manual and electric and the transfers worked great on all of them! Here is a closer look......
It's hard to photograph the copper sparkle but I think you get the idea. I thought this would be a good graduation card for a guy. What do you think? I have been experimenting with the foil transfers and different ways you can use them. I will be sharing them in the next few days!
Thanks for stopping by today!
