Hello friends! You know sometimes you get stuck in a rut......for me it's a creative rut lately. I have been uninspired lately and decided to change that by getting some different stamp images that require a different style. Plus I checked out the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers and found a fantastic sketch! I have been purchasing the Simon Says Stamp Monthly kit for a few months. Last months hasn't been touched yet and I got this month's just a few days ago. So I made myself sit down at my crafty table to create something fun with kit I just got and the sketch challenge. Be sure to leave a comment answering my question below! You could receive this fun card!
Here is what came in the kit.....
There are 3 small pots of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Aquamarine, Pure Platinum and Peony Pink. Plus a small egg-shaped stencil, palette knife, mini mister, sponge, cardstock and some Doodlebug 6x6 patterned paper. Plus the cutest stamp set! You can check out the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge for this week HERE.
Here is what I created.....
Don't you just love that little chickie? Plus the sentiment is awesome! I stamped and masked the eggs then colored them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens. I stamped the chickie on the card and then stamp him again on a scrap piece of cardstock. I fussy cut out the top of the chickie after I colored him and popped him up on some 3d foam squares. I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops (not included in the kit) at the top and bottom corners plus I used a banner punch on the sentiment panels. I also punched out the smaller sentiment using a circle punch. I love how this turned out and can't wait to find someone to send this cute card!
What do you do when you get in a creative rut? If I get 20 comments, I will pick a comment and send that person this cute card! So please tell me what you do when you are in a creative rut. I would love to find out!
Thanks for stopping by today!!
I have tons of cards Pinned on Pinterest and scrapbook ideas. One of these usually jump starts me. And I like your idea of a new craft trinket to also help. I love to make cards. Usually the smaller format makes the design easier. And sending cards makes people feel special. I like how you added the yellow strips of paper to add to pop of color. The stamp set is very cute.

This turned out so cute! I may have to look into those kits. Looks like a fun way to add a few great supplies each month. Hmmm...I usually just go to my saved 'ideas' and pick something out to 'case'. Funny thing is that my case never ends up resembling the piece I was going to copy :). Hope you get your inspiration back soon...love your beautiful creations!

One of my favourite things to do when in a creative rut is to take a class. Usually gets me jump started. Another thing is peeking through new product - I have so much of my own product that it's usually a kick to start using some of it so that I can buy more :)

When out of inspiration I carry on cataloging my stash. Last time it was my embossing folders which I copied to my catalogue and by the time I finished I had made 20 cards and was firing on all cylinders.
