Hello friends! I will be announcing the blog candy winner tomorrow. It's been a long and busy weekend here at my house. One of the fun things I did was to meet up with Peggy Jo Ackley. She is the owner and illustrator of Pink Ink Stamps! Peggy was in town to teach coloring classes at the Checkered Cottage in Kirkwood MO. Before Peggy left for her next teaching stop, we met up at The Blue Owl restaurant in Kimmswick MO and had lunch together. It was fantastic! As a bonus, Peggy brought me her newest coloring book....

Of course, my favorite illustrations of Peggy's are the beautiful and detailed Pink Ink Stamps. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you using one of these beautiful images. Recently, I have started to create my Christmas cards. These are cards that are relatively flat and fairly easy to make in an assembly-line style. Here is one of the cards I created.....
This card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". I decided to stick with a gold metallic theme for the card so I got out my gold embossing powder and heat tool. To start, I inked up the 6111K Felt Stocking stamp with some VersaMark embossing ink. Then I sprinkled it with Nuvo Classic Gold embossing powder. This is my new favorite embossing powder because it is just so shiny! I also stamped the 10136A Merry Christmas Oval sentiment and heat embossed it also. After I heat embossed the sentiment, I cut it out like a banner and tied some gold cording at one end to make it look a bit like a tag. After putting everything together, I think it turned out really nice. This would be an easy card to do assembly-line style. I made 6 in less than 30 minutes! The beautiful papers I used are from My Mind's Eye called Christmas on Market Street Collection. This collection has beautiful gold highlighted patterned papers and gold striped vellum. I love it!
