A Flowershaping Video Tutorial

Hello Friends!  Woo Hoo!  It's Friday!  Now it's time for a fun crafty weekend, right?  Well I hope you have a fun weekend even if it's not crafty.  But if you do have some time this weekend, I have a fun video tutorial to share with you.  In this video, I show you how to create some beautiful paper flowers to use in a home decor project or wedding centerpiece.  Yep, you read that correctly.  My oldest daughter is getting married next June so now it's time for me to really get crafty with the wonderful stamps, dies and paper I have in my crafty room!

Using the Blazing Poppy and Enchanted Mum Collections from Heartfelt Creations, I created some paper flowers that I think will look great as part of our centerpieces for the wedding reception.

Christmas Bells and Poinsettias

Hello friends!  It's Wednesday and you know what that means!  Time for a Heartfelt Creation project.  I have another project to share using the Celebrate the Season collection.  I love the non-traditional colors of this collection so much!

I used a card panel from the paper collection and added small poinsettias with plenty of bling!  Here is a closer look......

Other products: White cardstock, Pear Pizzaz ink pad (Stampin' Up!), rhinestone stickers, sponges, 3d foam squares, Pearl/Rhinestone flourish (Want2Scrap), teal ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon), Gray Flannel Memento Ink

Instructions: This card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Create the base of this card by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 11", scoring it at 5 1/2" and folding it in half.

Using the Swirling border die, cut along both edges of a piece of the dark purple patterned paper from the collection. Cut a card panel from the collection and adhere both of these layers onto the card base as shown. Cut a second bell image from the card panel and adhere it onto the card using 3d foam squares. Apply pearl/rhinestone flourish along bottom of card.

Stamp the poinsettia images onto white cardstock using gray ink. Using a sponge, apply plum ink to the larger flower and teal ink to the smaller flowers. Sponge green ink onto the holly images. You will need two purple poinsettias and two teal poinsettias. Use the matching dies to cut out the flowers and holly. Shape these flowers using the deluxe flower shaping kit.

Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock using plum ink. Using a die from the Cut Mat Create 1A set, die cut the sentiment. Adhere the sentiment panel to the card using 3d foam squares. Tie the ribbon into place and add the flowers as shown. Place the rhinestones in the middle of each flower to complete the card.

Happy Birthday Wishes Card

Hello friends.  Happy Monday!  Wow I am alittle slow today because last night we had some storms come thru and I just couldn't sleep.  So join me with a caffeinated beverage of your choice - mine is ice tea - and I will show you one of my latest Tonic Studios projects.  The project I am sharing with you is a beautiful and elegant birthday card that I created using the Jewelled Crown Double Detail Die set from Tonic Studios.  This die set adds such a beautiful and elegant touch to your projects!  The Double Detail line of dies are really unique.  They come with a matching stencil that you can purchase to add dimension to your project.  For this project, I didn't use the matching stencil but never fear, I will be showing you a couple of projects using this line in the weeks to come!

This card measures 5×7″.  To create this size base, you will need to cut a piece of 8 1/2 x 11″ cardstock to 7 x 10″.  Score this piece at 5″ and fold.  That will create the base of the card.  Then I cut a piece of ivory cardstock to 4 3/4 x 6 3/4″.  To that ivory layer, I added two piece of coordinating patterned paper.  One side is slightly bigger at 3 1/2 x 4 1/2″ and the other piece is 3 x 4 1/2″. I added a piece of lace right at the place where the two papers come together.   I cut just the outer edge of the Jewelled Crown Double Detail Die from kraft cardstock.  Then I cut the inside of the die from ivory cardstock and layered them together.  I tied a piece of seam binding around the main layers and added the pearl flourishes.  Then added the Jewelled Crown die cut using 3d foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment onto ivory cardstock and die cut it using the 485E Mixed Oval Layering die and layered that onto another oval cut from patterned paper using the same485E  Mixed Oval Layering die set.    Here is a closer look……

I really love the different looks you can get from the Double Detail range of die sets.  I can tell I will be using this die set on a lot of my projects!

Celebrate The Season!

Hello friends!  Well even thought it wasn't planned I took off last week from blogging and creating.  I have to say that during the summer it can be hard for me to find time to create and blog.  One thing that has made me want to create is this new collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I know you don't want to think about Christmas in July but now is really the best time to start planning your Christmas cards.  That way you can start working on a few each month and that will free up your time in November and December to make those beautiful hand made gifts for your family and friends.  Of course, I never take my own advice! LOL

This week I am sharing with you a card I created using the new Celebrate The Season collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I love the non-traditional color combos of this collection!

Other Products: White, olive cardstock; olive ink pad; crystal seed beads, 3d foam squares, Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers, sponge daubers, Gray Flannel Memento Ink

Instructions: Finished card measures 5" x 7". To create the base of card, cut a piece of white cardstock to 7" x 10". Score at 5" and fold in half. Cut a piece of the blue patterned paper from the collection to 6 3/4" x 4 3/4". Cut two strips of patterned paper and layer all onto card base.

Stamp the gate onto white cardstock using the gray ink. Die cut with the matching die. Trim off one picket on each side of the fence so that it fits onto front of card as shown. Use 3d foam squares to adhere fence into place.

Stamp and die cut the wreath from green cardstock. Stamp and die cut the poinsettias onto white cardstock using gray ink. Using the sponge daubers, color the poinsettia flowers with the plum & teal ink plus use green ink for the holly leaves. Die cut with matching dies. Assemble flowers using the flower shaping kit and add crystal seed beads in the center of the flowers. Stamp the mittens onto white cardstock using the plum ink and die cut with the matching die. Color mittens with a sparkle marker or add glitter.

Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock using plum ink and die cut with die from the Cut Mat Create 1B die set. Adhere holly leaves behind sentiment panel and adhere into place using 3d foam squares.

Adhere wreath, flowers and mittens into place to complete the card.

Instructions: Finished card measures 5" x 7". Cut a piece of rose cardstock to 7" x 10". Score it at 5" and fold in half to create card base. Cut a piece of patterned paper from the Cut Mat Create Collection to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". Cut a card panel from the collection and mat it onto a slightly larger piece of white cardstock. Adhere all these layers together as shown. Cut the tag and sentiment ticket from collection using the Luggage and Tags die set. Die cut the Regal Border die from white cardstock. Adhere into place along the left edge of the card as shown. Adhere the tag and sentiment ticket into place using 3d foam squares.

Stamp the Botanical Rose on white cardstock using Sweet Plum ink 5 times. Die cut with the matching die. Stamp the Leaf onto olive cardstock using olive ink and die cut with the matching die. Use the flower shaping kit to shape the roses and leaves.

Adhere the roses into place as shown on the card. Color the flower petals and the leaves with the sparkle marker to complete the card.

Countdown To July 6!

Hello friends!  I know that a countdown to July 6 is kinda weird but just hang with me for a minute.  If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I have been working with Crafter's Companion for a while.  Well, tomorrow July 6, Crafter's Companion is going to be on HSN all day!  Lot's of new releases and they are really awesome.  I have a couple to share with you today just so you know that you just can't miss this great crafty day on HSN!

This card measures 5 x 7".  I used the new Gemini Electronic Die Cutting and Embossing machine!  You know I love an electric die cutting machine...it really works great!  I also used a new die called Die'sire Grand Candelabra Create-A-Card die.  This is a large die cut it will fit on a regular A2 sized card.  I also used some new papers from the Signature Collection by Sara Davies Together Forever A4 Luxury Foiled Card Pad.  These are some gorgeous papers that are perfect for engagement, wedding and anniversary projects.  

 

This is an A2 sized card that I created using the new Die'sire Floral Frame Create-A-Card die.  I love how easy this die cut in just one pass!  Really awesome!
