Hello Friends! Hope you are having a great week! If you haven't noticed, it's October! I know....I was surprised, too. Time flies when you are having fun! LOL
Today I want to share with you a mixed media scrapbook layout I created. I have been exploring mixed media techniques lately....if you haven't noticed already.....and have had a great time doing it. This layout uses a bunch of supplies from Heartfelt Creations. My camera battery died while I was making this layout so I don't have a video but I do have tons of pictures to show you just how I made this.
I love this color scheme....don't you? These papers are from the Posy Patch Paper Collection from Heartfelt Creations. I also used some DCWV 12 x 12 lilac cardstock for the back layer. I used a black and white photo so that everything would be matchy matchy, just the way I like it. To start this layout, I used a paper saving technique that I learned when I was a Stampin' Up! demo a long time ago! Here is what you do..........
Yep, I cut the middle out of my 12 x 12" piece of cardstock. I left a 1 1/2" border to frame the layout. By doing this you will have some of the base paper to use elsewhere on your layout or you can save it for a card (that is what I did). I had some fun with a new Crafter's Companion stencil I just bought. I used the damask stencil with some modeling paste and then I spritzed randomly with some Juneberry Wine Glimmer Mist. Here are a few close-ups.......
I cut this butterfly with flowers image from a piece of patterned paper from the Posy Patch collection. There are two sheets of every pattern so I cut the butterfly out of the second piece of this paper. I added some small flowers that I made with the Classic Sunflower stamps and dies. I added stickles to everything!! You can only see a bit of it but I made another frame using the Decorative Window die...remember THIS card and video?
See the damask stencil and modeling paste? I also dripped some of the glimmer mist around the page.
You can make more than just sunflowers with the Classic Sunflower stamps and dies! I added a couple of die cuts from the Foliage die and some hemp twine.
Here you can see the blue and lilac papers I used. I sponged the edges with some Sweet Plum Memento Luxe ink. I found another butterfly to cut out in the Posy Patch Collection!
I have been experimenting alot lately with mixed media and really love the results. I promise next time I create a scrapbook layout I will film the whole process......which means my battery better be completely charged!! LOL
Thanks for stopping by today!
