Craft Hoarders Anonymous Organizational Monday!

Hello Friends!  Today is the fifth Monday of this month and I have something special to share with you!    Occasionally there are 5 Mondays in a month and when this happens the Craft Hoarders Anonymous take turns sharing storage tips and solutions!  So this post is all about how I organize my crafty hoard! There are 2 other team members joining me this month - Ginny and Donna.....so be sure to check out their blogs to see the crafty organizing tips they are showing.

My first tip is how I store my large format dies - like Spellbinders Grand Nestabilitites......

When I moved my crafty room to a small part of the basement, my hubby went over to Home Depot and bought one of those closet organizer systems that were on sale for like $150.  He put the cabinets and the countertop along this wall.  I ordered some adhesive magnetic sheets from Oriental Trading and put them on the wall to hold my dies.  Slowly as I started getting these bigger dies, I decided to put them on the magnetic wall since they didn't really fit anywhere else!   All of my other die sets are stored on 1/2 sheets of  8 1/2 x 11" chipboard that I have put more adhesive magnetic sheets on.  Then I file them in a way that makes sense to me.......all the flower dies are together, all the label dies are together, etc.  I have another box that holds the few Sizzix dies plus as you can see my Grand Calibur is sitting right next to my dies.  Right now I am using the Teresa Collins eBosser by Craftwell.  I really love this electric machine and my hubby put plenty of outlets at my die cutting station, too!

Here is how I store my Distress Inks and my Mix Media Inx.  I have the color of each distress ink on the side so that I can tell which color is what.....plus any refills, sponges, distress ink stain and Ranger Alcohol blending solution in one bin.  The other holds the Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx plus refills and sponges.  I have a large wooden stamp pad holder that I purchased when I was a Stampin' Up! demo that holds all my other ink pads.  I like keeping these inks separately so that I can just grab the plastic bin and take it to my desk when I want to use them!!

Spread Your Wings and Fly Card

Hello Friends!  If you are a regular reader here on my blog then you know I was chose as a semi-finalist for the Heartfelt Creations design team.  That means they sent me a fun package of goodies and I had to make at least 2 projects with those products.  Well I finally finished my projects and they are in the hands of my mailman.  If I make the team, that would be fantastic!  If I don't, I really know that Heartfelt Creations stamps, dies and papers are wonderful to work with and just my style!  There are a few more days to vote for your favorite semi-finalists HERE (if you would vote for me I would appreciate it).....you could win a $50 gift certificate just by voting!

Here is a card I made using the products they sent me......

This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4".  The base of the card is kraft cardstock.  I cut a slightly smaller piece of butternut card stock and inked/distressed the edges.  Then  I cut the piece of patterned paper from the Classic Sunflower Paper collection....there are a few pieces in this collection that are 6x6 sized perfect for creating a card!  The sentiment panel is a tag that I cut from the Classic Sunflower Paper Collection.  After sponging the edges of this tag, I used a paper distresser on the edges.  I stamped the sunflower from the Sunflower Stem PreCut set twice onto ivory cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored both flowers with my copic markers plus the leaves on just one of the images.  I cut out the flowers and leaves and layered them together using 3d foam squares.  I added some Gold Gala Glitz in the middle of the flower.  I made a bow from some hemp twine and layered that underneath my sunflower.  I added pearls to the flowers and butterflies to complete the card.

Can you tell how much fun I had creating?  That's the most important thing for me.  If I am not having fun then why do it, right?  Took me long enough to learn that lesson!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by today!

Ready for Halloween?

Hello Friends!  Are you ready for Halloween yet?  I know its a ways off but now is the time to start making those crafty things you love for Halloween so you don't have to rush when it gets here!  LOL  I am usually a last-minute kind of gal but thought I would make a couple of Halloween cards for my two college girls so I can mail them a goodie box soon.

I used kraft cardstock for the base of both of these cards.  The patterned paper is from the Gear Head Collection by The Paper Loft LC.  I really love how versatile these papers are!  The images are from some Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps.  Super easy to make and I got just alittle inky from sponging the distress edges!

Boo! From Me To You Card

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far.  Today I have a fun card and video to share with you using the supplies from the September Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month - Cute & Spooky.  The card I am sharing with you uses the main stamp set - Halloween Traditions and the add-on stamp set - Halloween Predictions.  Of course, I made a quick video showing how I put this all together!  It's easy peasy!!

Such A Blessing Card!

Hello Friends!  Sorry I haven't been posting much this week.  I had a busy week.  Our washer was on the fritz but my hubby and I fixed it (with no yelling or swear words, either)!  Plus I had a bunch of produce from our garden to can and put away.  Now I finally get a few minutes to myself.....no wait that was a joke....more stuff to do this weekend!  LOL

I'm So Excited!

Hello friends!  I am so excited! I found out this morning that I am a semi-finalist for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team!  To say I am excited is an understatement.  I really love Heartfelt Creations dies, stamps and paper collections.  I was on the team in 2010-2011 but it was before they had the wonderful paper collections!  This time they are doing things just a bit different.  Here is the information from the blog post about the semi-finalists on the Heartfelt Creations Blog:

For my project, I have used alot of stuff that I have been hoarding!  LOL  Here is my project!

The container I used for this project is a paper mache canister that was given to me by a sweet friend.  I covered the canister with Heartfelt Creations Daphne collection papers (retired).   I dry fit the paper to make sure it covered everything then I used my sponge to ink up all the edges of the paper.   I used the Tattered Blossoms stamp set and matching dies to create the flowers for this project.  I stamped the flowers onto pink cardstock using Rhubarb Stalk Memento Luxe ink.  After it dried, I cut the flowers out using the Tattered Blossoms dies.

The sentiment is from the digital stamp set Flower Garden from Crafty Secrets.  I haven't used too many digital elements but for this particular sentiment it works great because you can make it any size you need!  The butterfly was fussy cut from the Altered Fairies Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets.
