Hello Friends! Sorry its been awhile since I last posted. Life has been getting in the way of my creative time. My daughter graduated from high school. It would have been a fantastic day except I was very sick with an upper respiratory infection that had me at the urgent care the day before the big day. But with medication and the help of my family, I was able to attend the ceremony and enjoy her big day! Now its time to get her ready for college.....sniff, sniff. Now that I am almost back to normal, I wanted to get caught up with my posting.
I have a very fun card to share with you using a new type of fold. It's an easel card but its the size of an A2 card. It's super fun to make and I know that whoever you send this card to would love it because its so unique.
It is very simple to make this style of easel card. Just cut the kraft cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4" and fold. Then your will need a paper trimmer and paper scorer. Cut the top half of the card at 1 1/4" from each end. It should look like this.......
Adhere each of these piece down to the base of the cardstock. Then you will fold the middle piece in half and that will form your easel!
I added white cardstock and some of the Melissa Frances patterned paper to each side pieces and some more patterned paper to the easel. I cut/embossed a decorative labels eight from the pink metallic cardstock and cut it to fit behind a Labels Eight die cut. I stamped the card image onto the Labels Eight die cut and colored it in with Copic markers. I added a pearl and some You're So Fine Diamond Clear Cool Highlight glitter to the flowers on my cake! Here are a few more close-ups!
I stamped the sentiment onto a Ribbon Tags Trio die using Tuxedo Memento Black ink and added the pearls. Pop the ribbon tag up onto some 3d foam squares to make the easel part of the card! I tied the pink seam binding into a bow to complete the card!
This is such a fun card! It would be perfect for any occasion! I will be posting some more projects this coming week because I really got behind. Don't you hate to be sick during the summer? Enjoy your weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!
