Quick Christmas Cards!

Hello Friends!   Let's try this post again.  So sorry this went live before I was ready for it.  Please accept my apology.  

Hope you are having a productive week!  I am alittle behind on my Christmas card making (like every year) but this year, I thought ahead!  A few months ago, I was asked to work at the Heartfelt Creations booth at the local stamp show.  While I was demoing, my eyes were drawn to a very interesting paper collection.  It was the Christmas Card Collection.  As I looked thru this paper pad, I couldn't believe my eyes.  Each page had card fronts and sentiments that all you had to do is add some embellishments and a card base.  I am so happy that I got that paper pad because  the other  night I sat down at my desk and made 34 Christmas cards!  I had alot of fun adding different embellishments like ribbon, stickles, pearls, rhinestones and die cuts.  I tried really hard to keep the embellishments on the light side because I don't want to add extra postage.  

 

This is some of the supplies I gathered to start my marathon!

 For most of the cards, I used Kraft cardstock as my base.  For a few of the cards, I did use a white linen cardstock for the base but most of those were the lighter blue colors.  On most of the cards, I used Crystal Stickles and that really added the extra touch each card needed!

 I had so much fun making these cards.  I get bored easily making 40 of the same card.  This paper pad definitely cured that problem.  I know its too late for you to order this to use this year but I would say if you want to be prepared for next year.....this would be great to have!

A Birthday Wishes Card!

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  Today I took a break from my frenzied Christmas Card making and made a super cute birthday card using the December Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month - Wish Big with the Birthday Wishes add-on set.  This was such a fun card to make.  I did some paper piecing and just alittle bit of coloring on the owls.

 

Here is a close-up of my card!  I really love the colors that are in the paper pad included in this month's kit!  So cute!  I paper pieced the balloons and the little envelope that the owl is holding in his beak.   One of the ways I utilize as much paper from the kit as possible is that I don't throw any of my scraps away.  I know it gets kinda hard to keep track of them but I have a cello bag that I put them in and I staple it to the back of my paper pad to hold the scraps.  Then when I go to paper piece, I am sure to find just the right paper to use.

This card was super easy to make but it looks like you really worked a long time to make it!  My favorite type of card!  Hope my tip helps you get the most of your paper from this kit!!

A Fun Surprise!

Last week, I was surfing around the web and started checking out the Craftwell & Teresa Collins Designs blog hop.  If you left a comment and other stuff, you were entered in a contest to win a new Teresa Colling eBosser Automatic Embosser and Die Cutter.  I was very intriqued by this machine as its electric.  The thought of not having to crank my die cutting machine is very attractive because my wrist and shoulder really hurt sometimes after making a big project.  So I followed the directions to win and guess what?  I WON!  Look what came in the mail!

So I hurried up and got this beauty unpacked so that I could play with it!  It fits perfectly on my die cutting cabinet.  It doesn't take up anymore space than my Grand Calibur.

Luckily my husband was thinking ahead when he put electric plugs here for me.  I remember telling him 3 was too many and now I am not so sure he wasn't right!  Of course, don't let him know that!  LOL

So you build your sandwich and place it in the slot and give a little push.....it runs right thru and will wait for you on the other side.  It takes about 15 seconds or so.  I haven't really had a chance to run too many dies thru but there were 2 big embossing folders included and they work fantastic!  I can't wait to share with you some projects I made using this new fancy machine!  I will be sharing my projects later in the week!  Thanks for stopping by today!

 

A Tent Topper Card + Video

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  Here in Missouri it is super cold with some snow/ice on the ground.  Hopefully we will a couple of days of warmer temps so that the snow can melt away!  

Today I have a fun card to share with you.  It's a Tent Topper Card that I used the cute tree sticker included in the Wish Big Creative Cafe' Kit from The Rubber Cafe'.  I thought it might be fun to make another version of this card to show you how I made it, that way you can make more than one of this fun Tent Topper Card.

Wish Big Cascading Card Tutorial!

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week!  Today I have two videos to share with you.  The first video is a short video showing the contents of the December Wish Big Creative Cafe' Kit.  The second video is not short!  In this video I show you how to make a Cascading Card using supplies from your December Wish Big Creative Cafe' Kit.  Enjoy!

Here is my Wish Big Cascading Card!

Here is a video showing you how I made this card.  I will warn you now, its kinda long.  But I really think for those of us who are visual learners, a video is a must for this Cascading card.

 

Instructions:

1.  Cut two pieces of  8 1/2 x 11" cardstock to 5.5" inches high on one end and 2/5" high on the other. Using a pencil make a mark at the 5.5" and at 2.5" and position the cardstock in your paper cutter to cut from one mark to the other.  You will only need one sheet of paper for both pieces.
2. Make a mark at 2.75" on the tall end of each diagonal piece.  Then make a mark at 1.25" on short end.  Using a straight edge, join these marks across your pieces.
3. Score each piece of cardstock vertically at 2, 4, 8 and 10".  Make a faint pencil line at the 6" point but do not score.
4. Take one piece of your cardstock and cut up from the bottom at 2 and 10" score line to the horizontal pencil mark.  Cut down from the top at the 6" center point to the horizontal pencil mark.
5. Take the other piece of your cardstock and cut the opposite way.  Cut down from the top at the 2 and 10" score lines to the horizontal pencil line and up to the pencil line at the 6" center mark.
6. Slot the two pieces of cardstock together, gently pushing the cut slots together so that the two pieces of cardstock make a 3D shape!  
7. Decorate!!
