A Flirty Love Card!

Hello Friends!

Hope your week is going well.  Today I have a fun and flirty card to share with you.  I used a really pretty color combo that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

 

This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" square.  When I cut the dotted patterned paper to fit the front of the card base, I had two strips left.  So I used the opposite side of the two strips at the bottom of the card. (I hate waste don't you?)   I stamped the Daisy Bouquet image onto ivory cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored it with Distress Markers.  After coloring, I cut/embossed the image using a rectangle die.  I layered the flowers onto some teal patterned paper that I cut/embossed using Labels 23.  I stamped the Love & You onto ivory cardstock using purple ink and then cut them out.

I added some white seam binding and attached everything with foam squares.  I just love this color combo!  What do you think?

Anniversary or Wedding Card!

Hello Friends!  I am back again!  Can you believe I have been posting so much this week?  I have so much to share with you!  Here is a card I made for the final round of the Spellbinders DT Try-outs.  I used Gold Labels Four, Grand Labels Four and Labels Four Nestabilities plus some other of my favorite dies.

 To achieve this look is easier than it sounds!  First you will need to cut a frame using the Gold Labels Four with a Labels Four Nestabilities  all at the same time.  Use some repositionable tape to help you.  You will cut this using the Magnetic Spacer plate but when it comes time to emboss, remove the magentic plate and emboss like you always do.  Do not remove the dies from the paper because then you will use your sponge and distress ink to sponge around the Labels Four Nestabilitites.  Its just that easy but it sounds harder to do than it is.  Hopefully I will have time to make a video of how I made this card in the next week.  Right now, I am kind of swamped with some late minute projects.

So Thankful with JustRite Papercrafts!

Hello Friends! Hope the week is going well for you.  Here at my house its kinda quiet and I am thankful for that.  This summer has been so busy and alittle frantic.  I hate to say that I want summer to be over because that means back to College for my oldest daughter but some days.....I'm sure you know the feeling!

The other day I sat down at my crafty desk and decided to make a couple of cards just for my stash!  I haven't done that in awhile and it was very nice.  Here is the first one!

As you can see, this card is the same layout as my birthday card from yesterday.  I really love the 5x7 Elegant Labels Four dies because the die really makes your card elegant looking without taking alot of time.  I stamped the sentiment "So Thankful" from Good Friends Labels Twenty-Nine from JustRite Papercrafts.  I just purchased this stamp set not too long ago and I just love it!

As you can see, I fussy cut the butterfly/flower image from the Fairy Rhymes paper (Prima) and adhered it into place using 3d foam squares.  After everything was done, I covered it with Stickles.  Then I set it aside to dry.  I have to do it this way, otherwise I make a terrible mess of the Stickles!  Do you have a problem with that, too?  LOL

An Elegant Happy Birthday!

Hello Friends! 

 

Today I have an elegant birthday card to share with you!   I just love the color combo of the patterned paper I used plus the Happy Birthday stamp is one of my favorites.

Here's a close-up of my Phrase on a diecut label.   You can get a closer look at my sweet stick pin cluster too!

I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to adhere all the elements to my card including the flowers.  

Using pre-made flowers is new for me and I just love how well the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue holds them in place!

In Our House Family Wall Hanging!

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week!  Today I want to share with you a project I made for the Spellbinder DT First Round try-outs.  If you didn't already hear the news, I will not be continuing with Spellbinders.  Don't really know where my crafty path is taking me but I am excited to show you this project because I had so much fun making it!  It really is all about my family!  Remember you can click on any picture to make it larger!

To start this project, I used a lingerie hanger that I found in the dollar spot at Target.  I covered the hanger with patterend paper, sanded the edges really good and then added white gesso.  The backing of this wall hanging was a piece of cardboard packaging that came in the mail with some paper goodies I got from somewhere....not sure where.  I tore off most of the top layer of the cardboard and then painted it with white gesson around the edges.  I distressed some DCWV patterned paper and added that on top of the cardboard.  

To create these flowers, I first cut/embossed the swirly base. Before I cut/embossed I ran a half sheet of the Whipped Cream cardstock thru my Xyron machine to make it easier to adhere into place.   I used the newly released Tapestry die from Spellbinders.  This is an expandable pattern die but I cut out only the middle portion of this die.  This just highlights another way to use this die!  I cut/embossed this die and the flowers from Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock.  This is my favorite cardstock to use for these flowers.  It holds the ink really well and is very easy to shape yet it holds the shape you want it in!  

For the flowers, I sponged each Rose Creation flower layer using Mix'd Media Inx Chiffon.  Then I shaped the petals and glued everything together using my hot glue gun.  Technically I use a low temp glue gun cause I always burn myself....hate that!

The "Family" chipboard piece is from Want2Scrap.  I applied some Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to the front of the chipboard and then dipped it into the Pink glitter.  I made a big mess.....big smile.  But it was so fun and the chipboard piece looks great all glittery!  After the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue dries, the glitter will not come off!    I added lots of fun embellishments and ribbons, too.

Happy 22nd Birthday to a Special Lady!

Today I want to take just a minute to wish a very special lady, Aleshia, a very happy birthday!  I even made a card just for her!

Aleshia is my oldest daughter's best friend and the rest of the family loves her, too!  So when I saw this paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, I knew that is what I wanted to use to make her a special card!

For this birthday card, I used 2 of my favorite sets from The Rubber Cafe', Pictures Framed and Remember The Moments.  To start, I stamped the frame from Pictures Framed onto patterned paper using black ink.  I 'fussy' cut this out.  Then I stamped it again onto white cardstock and just cut out the inner square.  I stamped the scalloped frame from Remember The Moments using red ink on this white square.  

I stamped the "2" from  Remember The Moments set directly to white card stock and cut/embossed it out using a Standard Circle Lg  Nestabilities, and layered it over my Red scalloped frame.  I also stamped the "Happy" phrase from the  Pictures Framed set directly onto white card stock 'fussy' cutting it out to add along the bottom of the frame.

Today I have another Spellbinders Paper Arts project to share.  This is a scrapbook layout I did of my daughter, Caitlyn.  I used some of my favorite supplies to create this page, too!

You can see this project in the Idea Gallery at the Spellbinders Paper Arts website.  It was super fun to make and I love that picture of her!  Right now she isn't feeling or looking like this.  Wednesday she had her wisdom teeth removed and it was alittle traumatic for all of us.  Hopefully she will be back to normal soon!

I used the 5 x 7 Enchanted Labels 28 die template to create this page of my daughter. I also used Graphic45 A Ladies Diary patterned papers to create the background, along with 5 x 7 Enchanted Labels 28 die cuts as a photo mat and a border. I added Jewel Flowers and Flourishes die cuts as accents with the fussy cutting pieces from the papers.  This page measures 12 x 12".

A Video to Share

For the second round of the Spellbinders DT try-outs, we had to create a project along with a video.   So today I wanted to share that project and video with you.  I am really new to video making and you tube, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the process and plan to make many more in the future!
