To make this 12 x 12” scrapbook page, I first created my flowers using the S5-104 Bauble Blossoms 2 die template.  There are 3 die templates in this set.

As you can see, there are two die templates that will make flowers.  The die template in the middle will cut a strip of cardstock that will form the center of the flower.  Here are the instruction to make the denim flowers I used on my scrapbook page.

Cutting denim using the Grand Calibur® is so easy!  The denim I used for these flowers used to be a pair of my youngest daughter’s jeans, so they were very well worn! (I really like to re-use when I can)   

I found that when cutting denim that was so worn, using a piece of light weight copy paper really helped to give the fabric just a little more body.  You can see in the picture I have included the sandwich I used in my Grand Calibur®.

You will need to cut/emboss strips of Kraft cardstock to form the denim flower centers.  A quilling tool will help you a lot when making these flowers.  I bought an inexpensive quilling set from my local craft store for about $4.  You will also need glue dots or a fabric glue like Beacon’s Fabri-Tack.

Using the quilling tool, roll the cardstock strip cut from Kraft card

stock into a tight roll securing end with a glue dot.

Wrap the denim flower around the cardstock center and secure the end with fabric glue.  You can spread out the flower petals how you like them but with my well-worn denim the petals lay fairly flat!

To make the cardstock flowers, the procedure is the same but I added a step that I feel really makes your bauble blossoms look great!

Here is my cardstock Bauble Blossom made from cardstock.  As you can see I cut/embossed some green cardstock using the other die in the set.  I cut a few petals from the strip and wrapped them around my finished flower to add leaves to the outside of my flowers.  Then I added a rhinestone to finish the center.

Here is another close-up of my finished flowers.   I also used another strip cut from the green cardstock under my flower flourish to form a vine.  These flowers are so easy to make and look just beautiful on my page!

Something Fun To Share!

Happy Monday!  I hope the weather is nice and warm where you are but here it's pretty chilly.  I know it's all our fault, too!  We opened the pool this past weekend so that just brings the cold, chilly weather everytime!!  LOL

I do have something fun to share with you today.  I have been asked to join the Really Reasonable Ribbon Special Events Team!  Woo Hoo!!  I love ribbon and working with all the fun gals on the team will be so great.  You can see the blog announcement HERE!  Go check it out and check out the Really Reasonable ribbon store.  Bonnie has the most beautiful ribbon at great prices.  I will participating in blog hops with the RRR team once a month.  But you know how much I love ribbon!  I will be using it on everything!!  Have a great day!

JustRite Music Card!

Here is a card I made yesterday using some JustRite cling stamps, Pink Paislee paper and Spellbinders™ Paper Arts die templates.   This card is another thank you that I will be sending out for all those retreat goodies that I got!

For Easter, I made some cute little cheesecakes that I put on some of those Wilton 4" doilies.  Fortunately I had some left to use on my card!  I cut/embossed S4-356 Floral Ovals #3 (remember #1 is the smallest) from some New Piggy Pink Cardstock.  I stamped the small music sentiment from Musical Notes Labels Twenty set onto some Simply Smooth White cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and cut/embossed using the matching S5-026 Labels Twenty #2.  When I layered the sentiment onto the oval and then onto the doily, I realized it just needed something.  So I got out my pearl bling and added the pearls.  I used S5-086 Bittly Blossoms to make the flower adding another pearl in the center.  That was a trick that Donna Salazar showed us at the design team retreat.  Great tip!

So here is another card made......I have alot more to go!  Hopefully I can work on them this weekend.  For once, we don't have a whole lot planned and I want to really take advantage of that time to create alot of stuff!!  Talk to you soon!

Bouquet of Good Wishes!

One of the many things on my very large to-do list is to make Thank You Cards for all the wonderful Cross-Promotional products I received at the Spellbinders design retreat.  Well I am definitely not off to a fast start but I did finish a couple.  Here is one of the cards I finished this weekend.

This card is a 5 1/4" square card.  I love that size of card because there is lots of room to add all those pretty embellishments!  The base of this card is some Kraft cardstock cut to 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" and scored at 5 1/4".  For the bottom layer, I cut some Posh Milk Chocolate Felt Cardstock into a 5" square.  For the next layer, I ran some Peach Smooth cardstock thru my Grand Calibur® using ES-005 Enchanted M-Bossabilities™.  The M-Bossabilities™ give such a deep embossing detail.  I love it!   The patterned paper is Reunion from These Days Collection by KaiserCraft.  I cut/embossed the patterned paper using S4-237 Labels Twenty-Three #4 (remember #1 is the smallest in the set).  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and cut/embossed it from S4-237 Labels Twenty Three #2.  I added some pearls from Want2Scrap.  Using E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities®, I cut/embossed a strip of the reverse side of the patterned paper from Kaisercraft.  Once I had all these pieces I went ahead and assembled the card but realized it need something more.  So I got out my favorite S5-086 Bitty Blossoms to makes some really pretty flowers.

I added the ribbon and tied a bow then glued my flowers into place.  I won't be able to mail this card in a regular envelope.  I will probably put it into one of those jiffy padded envelopes.  It will take more postage but this card is worth it, don't you think?  LOL

Champagne Metallic Gift Box

Today I have a project to share with you that I made using some beautiful Champagne Metallic Cardstock from Discount Cardstock.  This metallic cardstock is on special this week at Discount Cardstock.  You can check it out HERE.

Using the Mini-Pizza Box tutorial from Splitcoaststampers I made this box.  I then created a bottom and top using S4-161 Labels One Nestabilities®.  Here is what it looks like when the box is open.

Here is a close-up of the details on top of the box.  I had alot of fun using the new S5-104 Bauble Blossoms 2 die template to make the flower.  The metallic cardstock really cuts and embosses wonderfully!

Happiness is Time Sent With Friends!

Hello!  Hope your week has been going well.  I have been so busy organizing my craft room and finding places for the loot I got at the Spellbinders™ DT Retreat.  I feel so fortunate to have received so many goodies - 3 boxes were shipped to me from Arizona!  I have a few goodies that I will putting aside for blog candy soon.  So be on the lookout!

It's Official!

Today, April 1, 2012, is my first official day on the Spellbinders™ Design Team.  I am so excited to begin this year!  I know it will be fabulous!  I had a great time on the design team retreat in Phoenix and have a few pictures I wanted to share with you!

All of these flags represent how many different countries are on the Spellbinders™ Design Team.  Five different countries!   Its a diverse group of women but we all had so much fun together!  I will have links to all the DT blogs up by the end of the week. 

Here is my tablemate, Angela Ploegman.  We had so much fun sitting together and learning about Spellbinders™.  Yes, we did take some classes and got to create some pretty cool stuff!

But I have to say that I got so lucky because my roommate was the wonderful, Christine Emberson.  Here is a picture of us at 6am right before we are leaving for the airport.  So if I look really tired.....I AM!!  Christine and I had so much fun talking when we should have been sleeping.  Plus one night we were free for a couple of hours and I took her on her first shopping trip to Wal-mart.  She quite enjoyed it.  Christine is from the UK and had never been to Wal-Mart!  I think her sons enjoyed the snacks when she got home!

I brought home so many goodies in my suitcase from the retreat but I am still waiting on a couple of boxes that had to be shipped to me, too!  The Spellbinders™ Design team is so lucky because we received a generous amount of products from Cross-Promotional & Preferred Product Partners.  I will be busy the next week or so making Thank You cards for these generous companies. 

So now its time to get busy designing cool projects for Spellbinders™ Paper Arts!  It will be a great year!
