Altered Clipboard for Want2Scrap™!

Hello everyone and hope you are having a great weekend!  Today I have my final Want2Scrap™ Guest Designer project for you.  I had so much fun altering this clipboard I found at the $Dollar Store.  I am going to give it to my daughter to use outside her dorm room for messages and such.

The first thing I did was to sponge the edges of the clipboard using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  Then using Matte Gel Medium (Liquitex), I applied a piece of patterned paper.  Don't you just love the music notes?  I know my daughter, the college music major, will love this!   I covered Want2Scrap™ Lattice Rectangle Nestaboard™ (the largest one in the set) with Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and sponged with the Seedless Preserves Distress ink.  Then I added the Want2Scrap™ Nestabling™ Lattice Rectangle Eggplant Pearl.  Don't be afraid of these detailed pearls because they are a breeze to attach to your project!  I did the same steps for the next layer of Nestaboard and added the Layered Butterflies tied together with twine and a heart charm.

Here are a couple more close-ups of the rose I made for this clipboard.  I used the S5-050 Rose Creations dies (Spellbinders™ Paper Arts) designed by Donna Salazar.  Matter of fact, these roses where made in the "Donna" style!   All the patterned paper is from the Donna Salazar Antiquities Collection.

Thanks For Everything!

Today I have a card to share with you.  I used some new to me Gina K. Designs Stamps and some more of Want2Scrap™ products, too!  Here is my 4" x 9" card.

To make this size card, you will need to cut your card to 8" x 9" and fold at 4".  This card will fit into a regular business size envelope.  Of course, this card has some thicker embellishments so I will probably stick it into a padded envelope so it gets where its going without any damage.

To start, I stamped the front using Antique Linen distress ink and a damask image from the Gina K. Designs stamp set called Springtime Silhouettes.  I love this set it has all kinds of wonderful sentiments and images!

Here is a close-up of the sentiment panel.

The patterned paper is from Iron Orchid Designs.  I cut/embossed using Labels 5.  I layered everything together and added the matching Nestabling- Labels Five White Pearl from Want2Scrap™.  I made some little rolled roses and added some leaves from the Foliage dies (Spellbinders).

Join Me For A Class....

You can bring your own die cutting machine or you can use my Grand Calibur machine.  There will be 2 die cutting stations for this class.  As you can see you will be using some new releases from Spellbinders...like....the 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, Spiral Blossoms 2, Nested Lacey Pennants and Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  Plus I will show you how to make a rosette using Classic Scalloped Circles.  It will be a fun class full of great technqiues!  Make sure to call For Keeps Sake to get a space in this class...its filling up fast!

Gratitude to A Special Friend

The other day I was having a super bad day....I mean really bad....that kind of day that makes you cry at the drop of the hat.  But something happened that made my whole day turn around.  About dinner time the doorbell rang.  At my door was a special lady from my church who helps with funeral luncheons.  You see, she had made a wonderful looking carrot cake at our last funeral luncheon and I didn't get a piece....so you know what she did?  She made me a carrot cake and happened to bring it to me THAT day....the day that I was having such a bad day.  I cried again but I also smiled and couldn't stop.  So I made this card for my special friend to show my gratitude to her for making me feel special.  What do you think?

 

I think the sentiment says it all, don't you agree?  I know that while I was having the bad day, I had asked God to help lead me down the right path.  I truly believe that God works miracles everyday even if its only a special friend bringing you cake!

Flower Soft Orange & Black Challenge!

Hello!  Today I have a Flower Soft project for you.  Our challenge this week was to use Orange and Black in our project.   To see what the other Flower Soft Design Team members made for this challenge, just check out the Flower Soft Blog.  

This challenge worked out pretty well for me because my daughter (who is in college) called and asked me to make her some Halloween decorations for her dorm room.  I think this wall hanging will work, don't you?

For the base of my wall hanging, I used the largest die in the Creative Book Pages die set from Spellbinders Paper Arts™.   I cut out 2 piece of lightweight chipboard (cereal boxes, LOL) and glued them together.  Then I covered them with Posh Black Linen Cardstock.  I added layers of Posh White Linen cardstock and patterned paper (Haunted Hallows from Teresa Collins) all cut/embossed from the Creative Book Pages set.  The graduated sizes in that die set really work for this wall hanging.

To make the Jack-O-Lantern, I cut/embossed  the largest pumpkin in the Nested Pumpkin set from Spellbinders™.  Using Flower Soft glue, I drew the eyes/nose/mouth and added Flower Soft Ultra Fine Black.  I think it turned out really cute.  Here is a close-up of the Jack-O-Lantern.

I actually used Flower Soft glue for this whole project.  Liquid Adhesive works great for projects like this.  Plus I know that this particular project will be put thru alot and I want it to stay together!

Here you can see the Nested Lacey Pennants I used for my letters.  I also used the Lacey Circles to create rosettes out of white cardstock.  The letters are stickers that I added some black ink to the edges using a sponge.

Flower Soft Fall Fun Card!

Hello!  Here is my card for today.....it's a fun card using some really neat Flower Soft products.  For the base of my card, I cut/embossed a piece of  Posh Milk Chocolate Felt Cardstock using Grand Nestabilities Label 11. 

For my focal image, I used a 3D Cutout Toppers from Flower Soft called Country-Village.  I die cut the main image using the Grand Nestabilities Label 11 and then fussy cut the 3D pieces to add.  Using Flower Soft glue, I added some Flower Soft Mixed Color - Autumn.  I actually added the Autumn to all the flowers in this picture so that it would look like a fall scene.  Then sentiment oval is a piece from the Country-Village Topper, too.

Hope you enjoyed my Flower Soft Fall card!  It was fun to make and I am going to mail it to a special friend of mine.  If you didn't know, Flower Soft mails very well!!

Smarty Pants!

Here is a quick and easy scrapbook page I made of my oldest daughter in her new college dorm room.  I don't know about you but I have stacks of 6x6 patterned paper pads that aren't getting used.  So I decided there has to be a way to use these smaller papers in other project besides cards.  So I used some Echo Park Victoria 6x6 papers, Spellbinders dies and cardstock from Discount Cardstock.  I am liking quick and easy lately and really must get back to scrapbooking more!  Hopefully this page will give you some ideas on how to use 6x6 papers on your scrapbook pages!

The base of my page is a piece of 12 x 12 Kraft cardstock.  I cut some of the musical patterned paper into strips and die cut it into a scalloped edge.  The stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. called Smarty Pants.  The black is a piece of 8 1/2 x 11" Black Linen and I die cut along a strip of Posh Red Linen using the Big Scalloped Border Grand die (Spellbinders). 

This was a fun and quick scrapbook page to make.  Hopefully this will get me back to scrapbooking again!  Have a great day!

October Already?

Here is a project I made using 72 Count Silver Rhinestones Self Adhesive and Discount Cardstock papers.

 

Remember that you can click on the picture to get a better look at my Halloween Accordian Tag Book.  For the base of my tag, I used Soot cardstock #80.  I cut the cardstock to 5 1/2" x 10" and scored it every 2 1/2".  Then I folded it and cut the corners to get the tag look.  Then I cut Mandarin Cascata Felt cardstock to fit each "tag".  I added some pieces of black cardstock to the 2 middle panels to create pockets.  Here is some close-ups of the Accordian Tag Book.

I created the paper rosette using 2 Scalloped Circle die cuts and a Scor-Pal.  What do you think of the bling from Want2Scrap?  The sentiments were computer generated and I used a free font from dafont.com.  The stamp set is from Hero Arts.  I am pretty sure its retired but just in case, its called Happy Owl-Oween.

I am going to give the Halloween Accordian Tag Booklet to a friend.  I thought she could put her little boys' pictures on the 2 middle panels and set it on her desk at work.  What do you think?
