Tami Mayberry's Blast From The Past Customer Blog Hop

I actually made 2 projects for today's hop.  I am not ashamed to admit that I am kinda a Tami Mayberry Stalker.....LOL!  I love the style of stamps she designs.  They fit my style "just right"!

My first project is a small gift bag that I designed as a table decoration for my daughter's upcoming high school graduation party.

I used Tami's set called Live Life Loud.  It's a perfect set for my daughter.  She will be going to college in the fall as a Music Performance major and while she won't be studying how to be a rock star, she does love all things musical!

I covered a small kraft bag with some Dotted Swiss Deep Blue Trio cardstock cut/embossed using Grands Labels 4.  After cutting and embossing the white layer, I stamped the images using Pacific Point classic dye ink and Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I stamped the guitar on a piece of scratch paper, cut it out and popped it up using some foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment and then cut/embossed using Labels 20.

My next project is a card I made for my hubby for our anniversary!   

 
 
For this card, I used Tami's set - Happy Hearts.  It's a great set for Valentine's Day but it worked really well for an anniversary card, too.  There are all kinds of words to stamp in different combinations and I found that the words fit perfectly on the Ribbon Banner die from Spellbinders.

Our Craft Lounge!

Today I am blogging on the Our Craft Lounge blog.  My theme is all about Mother's Day.  I challenged myself to take one stamp set and make 4-5 different projects in different styles.  It took me a few days to finish and it was really a challenge but I had so much fun!

Here is one of my projects!

 I was going for the simple yet elegant look and I actually think I did it!  Do you see the pretty pearl bling on the Labels 5 sentiment panel?  It's called Nestabling!   My LSS - For Keeps Sake - just got a bunch in and its awesome!  It's bling (clear or black rhinestones or pearls) in shapes that correspond with Nestabilities!

Tired On Tuesday!!

Hope you had a great Easter weekend.  My kids were off for an Easter break and just went back to school today.  It's hard to get back into the swing of things when you take some time off, isn't it?  For some reason, I am so tired on this Tuesday.  Must be this crazy weather!

I had a great class at For Keeps Sake this past Saturday!  Everyone loved the projects but most importantly learned how to use Spellbinders die templates in their own die-cutting machine. 

Here are a couple of the projects we made:

 
This card showed how to make a border on the base of your card.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

 

For this card, I used Labels 15 to make a frame around the SRM Sticker sentiment.  Like I said we had a great time and I am looking forward to the next class on May 28 @ 10:30am.  I am busy working on my class samples right now!

Just A Couple.....

of cards to show you.  I don't really have anything new to share with you today.  But I did find a couple of cards that I made a few months ago that I haven't shown yet.  I have been busy working on some projects for different publications, getting ready for my class this Saturday at For Keeps Sake AND trying to keep up with my family!  As you can imagine, I have been pretty busy.

Here are two cards I made for my family.....

I used a set from Unity to stamp the heart and sentiment.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park.

 
 The sentiment I used on this card is from Heartfelt Creations.  I used some dies from Spellbinders, Graphic45 paper and some Webster Page's Sparklers.

I hope you will understand if I don't post for a few days.  Holy week is a big deal around our house and a time when we all go to Mass together every evening starting Wednesday and ending with a party Saturday night after the Easter Vigil.  It's become a traditional in our house to celebrate Easter this way.  So I will talk to you soon.  If I don't talk to you before, I wish you a most blessed Easter Sunday! 

 

 

More Pins & Needles!

Here are a few more cards I made using the Our Craft Lounge set - Pins & Needles.  I had alot of fun combining the stamp set with the Cosmo Cricket - Material Girls papers.  They just go together!

Now here is a card that I didn't make!!  My daughter, Caitlyn made this card.  She used the patterned paper that was on my desk and some of my button stash.  I think she is giving it to her boyfriend....who is cute but ........    ;)

OCL Challenge #61 - Clearly Clean & Simple

There is a great challenge going on over at the Our Craft Lounge blog.  This week's challenge is a Clean & Simple challenge with a twist.  You must use something clear on your project, too.

 
 
So clean and simple is a pretty easy challenge for me but the use something clear?......I was stumped.  When I was looking around my craft room for something clear to use....I spied my big package of acetate and decided to make a gift bag with an acetate window.  Here is my project for this week's challenge.

I used the Our Craft Lounge set called Pins and Needles for this bag.  I need to give a small present to a friend of mine for helping my oldest daughter.....so I thought filling this little bag with some homemade cookies would be great, don't you?  I cut a circle from the front of the bag using a circle nestabilities.  Then I used a piece of acetate for my window.  I cut a couple of frames to put around the window.  Using some white pigment ink, I stamped the stitches directly onto the bag.  Then I stamp the sentiment, pin cushion and sewing machine and mounted those onto die cuts.

While my present won't be a sewing project, I think my friend will appreciate it!  Hope you have a great weekend.  Check back tomorrow for more OCL projects using Pins & Needles!

 My card for today's hop is a square 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" card.  I used some Silver Peel-Offs stickers to add interest and bling to the black layer.  I used Labels 18 to die cut the Die Cut Dimensions-Wild Flower Topper.  I added some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers and stamped a sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I love the whole set of Die Cut Dimension - Wild Flower Toppers. There is a flower for just about every occasion!  Now that you have seen my project, it's time to HOP on over to my sweet friend, Gini Cagle's Blog to see her wonderful creation!

Dotted Swiss Flowers!

This week over at Discount Cardstock, Bazzill Dotted Swiss Trio packs are the featured cardstock.  This cardstock is really neat.  It has a cool dotted dry embossing already on the paper.  When you get a trio pack, you receive three coordinating colors.  On this card, I used the Bazzill Dotted Swiss Blissful and Cloverleaf trio packs.

Here is how I made the flower! 

 
 
 You will need these supplies:

• Bazzill Dotted Swiss Blissful Trio - 1/2 sheet of Sunset
• Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cloverleaf Trio - 1/4 sheet of Celtic Green
• Rose Creation Dies - Spellbinders Paper Arts
• Brad
• Glimmer Mist or Water - here I made my own glimmer mist using Pearl-Ex, Water and Gum Arabic - I am just cheap that way!!  LOL

First step is to cut/emboss 5 of the dies out of the Sunset Dotted Swiss cardstock.  Cut/emboss the 2 largest leaves from this set, too.

Step two is to stack all the flowers together and put a brad in the middle hole to hold them together.  I couldn't decide which brad to use.......

Step three is to mist the flower really good and start scrunching it together.  Like this!

Step Four is to start spreading out the flower petals and mist again.  Then using a Heat Tool, dry your flower.

 
Once the flower is dry, add the leaves to the back using glue dots.

Then use your flower on your project!!  The Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock cuts and embosses so well plus it holds together great when using water/mists.  You should give it a try!!

A Few Fun Cards!!

Here are a few cards I have made over the past couple of weeks that are just for fun!

I used some cute My Little Shoebox papers for this card.  It's pretty simple.....but cute!  The base of my card is Kraft.  Using my white gel pen, I drew some faux stitching lines on the Ice Pink Prismatic cardstock. 

For this card, I used the LF-190 Grands Label Four die to make a shaped card.  The flower was so simple and fun to make, too!  I cut/embossed the Canary cardstock using the new release, S5-050 Rose Creations dies from Spellbinders.  I layered them all together and put a brad in the middle and then using some Iridescent Gold Glimmer mist, started misting and scrunching while using my heat tool.  This is the flower that resulted and the shimmer is so pretty in real life!  I layered my flower onto a Wilton Doily.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

A Square Card Challenge!

This week the Flower Soft Sprinkle Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is to make a square card.  Boy, did I have fun with that!!  LOL

 
This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4".  I made the base from Kraft cardstock.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park - Springtime Collection.  I used a SRM Sticker for the sentiment.  The dies I used are: Grands Labels One and Rose Creations from Spellbinders Paper Arts.  In the middle of the flower, I used Earth Ultra Fine Flower Soft.  For the leaves and grass, I used Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft.
