Yes, I know its not even close to St. Patrick's Day but now is the perfect time to make this quick and easy craft with your kids. This is especially good for Girl Scouts! For this project I am using Glue Dots Brand Adhesive. The best thing about Glue Dots products are they are super safe for kids to use.
Here are the supplies you will need:
Glue Dots Brand Adhesives Craft glue dots, glue lines and Mini Glue Dots (not pictured). You will also need 3 green felt hearts (I die cut mine using Hearts Nestabilities), a button, a pin back, a bottle cap, a little piece of felt cut to form the stem plus a sentiment.
The first thing you should do is smash your bottle cap. I used the Wizard die cutting/embossing machine to smash mine but you can do this by placing a heavy book on the bottle cap and pressing down very hard either with your hands or with a tool. Then you will need to cut 3 small hearts out of felt and cut a small piece of felt to form the stem. Then using Craft glue dots, stick your hearts onto the bottle cap.
The you can add your stem and button using Mini glue dots!
Using my printer, I typed out a sentiment. After printing, I punched it out and cut the end so it looks like a banner. Apply the sentiment into place using the Mini Glue Dots.
Using Glue Lines, adhere the pin back to the back of the bottlecap. Glue Lines are really neat. If its too long for the pin back, don't worry just fold it to fit!
Here is a picture of my finished Shamrock Pin!
This is an easy and fun project to make. You don't have to use a bottlecap, you could put your felt shamrock onto any circle of sturdy material - chipboard, cardstock or even plastic. That is another good thing about Glue Dots......you can stick them to just about anything! Hope you will give this cute project a try. My youngest daughter is in Junior Girl Scouts and will be makings these in just a few weeks!
