Silver Christmas Tissue Box Cover

Every week Splitcoaststampers has a featured tutorial and last week it was this really neat Tissue Box Cover.  I made one using some Silver Ore Metallic cardstock from Discount Cardstock.  It was a lot of fun to make and I think its sturdy enough to keep and re-use next year!  You can see more pictures of this project and some detailed instructions on the Discount Cardstock Blog.  Enjoy!

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 8

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops 8! I was so excited when I found out I would be participating in another JustRite Blog hop. I love JustRite stamps and already had some that I had purchased at the CHA Supershow to make my family Christmas cards with!  So for today's hop, I actually made two projects.   My first project is a square card.  I used some Basic Grey  patterned paper from the Jovial Collection called Christmas Tree.  I love the color combo so much!

  
I used the JustRite set called Christmas Ornaments Set with the 3 1/4" Wood Circle stamper.  This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" square.  I cut/embossed the sentiment circle using Classic Circles Lg Nestabilities and layered it onto a Beaded Circle Nestabilities.  I stamped the ornament, colored it in using my Copic Markers and then cut it out.  Here is a close-up of the ornament.

You can see the Flower Soft - Polar White Diamond Range along the top of the ornament and in the middle of the snowflakes.  Do you see the cool gold detail on the ornament?  Those are a line of stickers from Flower Soft called Peel Offs.  These are the  Peel Off Sticker 280 in Gold.  I just love how these stickers highlight the ornament.

 

For my second project, I made a Christmas Tag.

This tag measures 3 1/4 x 6 1/2".  First I stamped the ornaments from the Christmas Ornaments 3 1/4" Set onto some white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored them in using my Copic markers and cut them out.  I added lots of details using the Flower Soft Gold Diamond Range and some Polar White, too.  The rhinestone flourish is from Zva Creative.  I took a gold colored Copic Marker and colored the rhinestones to match with all the gold I used on my tag.  The patterned paper is actually "Joy To The World" from our parish missal that is in each pew.  Our parish recycles these every 6 months so I got one out of the recycle bin to reuse in my own way!   Here is a close-up of one of the ornaments. 

I used some more Peel Off Stickers 280 Gold from Flower Soft to simulate the ornaments hanging from a string.  I tied some gold cording into a bow and attached it to the top of the ornaments using a Mini Glue Dot.   The rosette was made by accordian folding some strips of the music paper.  On top of the rosette, is the sentiment from From Our House Set 2" Square Set.

Paper Pleats!

I really love challenges, don't you?  So I check out the challenges on the Moxie Fab World blog all the time.  Unfortunately, I don't always have time to participate.  But today, I decided to do a challenge.  The challenge (which ends tomorrow) is to make a project using paper pleats called Perfectly Placed Pleats.  There are so many great examples of paper pleating on the Moxie Fab blog so be sure to check them out!

Here is my card for the Perfectly Placed Pleats challenge!

I used some Stampin' Up! stuff for this card.  The cardstock is Pacific Point and the patterned paper is called Blueberry Crisp.  The sentiment and scroll frame is from Verve Stamps called Love Story.  I used some Zva Creative pearls plus some Chantilly lace from Stampin' Up! to complete my card.  Pretty simple yet fun!  For the pleats, I cut a piece of patterned paper at 1 1/2" x 11".  Using some Scor-tape, I ran a piece across the middle and started pleating my paper and just pushed it onto the scor-tape.  Done!

Cardinal Christmas Candy Box!

Today I would like to share with you a Christmas Candy Box I made using some Heartfelt Creations stamps and die cuts.  This is such an easy box!  It uses 2 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" heavy cardstock.  If I have enough comments on this box, I will post a tutorial on how to make it!  So you know what to do!  I had alot of fun making this and think it will look great sitting on a desk or in your family room filled with Christmas Candy.

After making my box, I cut/embossed 2 - Big Scalloped Border out of the raspberry cardstock and attached it along top of box using Glue Dots Brand Glue Lines.  I also attached the lace in same way.
Then I cut piece of raspberry cardstock to 5 ½” x 5 ½”.  I layered a piece of white cardstock to 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” to the raspberry cardstock.  Then I stamped the smallest HCPC3339 Elegant Holly Swirl on the bottom right-hand corner and colored it with Copic Markers.  Onto some scrap white cardstock, stamp 2 more of the smallest Elegant Holly Swirls and color with Copic Markers.  Then I fussy cut the Holly Swirls out and adhered them into place as shown in the picture.  Then I stamped the largest Elegant Holly Swirls 2 times onto some scrap white cardstock and colored them using Copic Markers.  I cut out only  the Holly leaves with the berry and layered these into place as shown.  Then I stamped the largest cardinal from the HCPC3353 Cardinal Family Precut Set and colored using Copic Markers.  After coloring, I cut/emboss the Cardinal using HCD706 Cardinal Family Diecuts #5 (largest).  I attached the cardinal onto the cardstock using Pop-Up Glue Dots.  I attached this cardstock square to the back inside of  box using Glue Lines.  To complete the front of the box, I stamped the sentiment from HCPC 3352  Snowy Cardinal Precut Set onto white cardstock and cut/emboss using Labels 17 #3 (remember the smallest die in the set is #1).  Then I arranged the pearl flourish on the front of the box and layered the sentiment onto a Raspberry Labels 17 #4 using some Pop-Up Glue Dots.

I know it seems complicated but this was a fun project to make!  I love the color combo and how real the Cardinal looks!

One Last Summery Card!

I was cleaning off my stamp table and found some stuff that just cried out for me to make it into a card.  It is definitely a very summery card!  I just love the color combo but most of all, I love the big, beautiful butterfly stamp that I embossed onto vellum cardstock using white embossing powder.

 
This stamp is from Donna Salazar.  Isn't it beautiful?  You know I can't resist butterflies!  I used the last of my scraps from the Quite Contrary Line by My Mind's Eye.  The base of my card is some Pure Luxury Pure White Base weight cardstock from Gina K. Designs, cut to 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  My next layer is Terrestrial Teal Cardstock that I cut to 5 x 5" and rounded the corners.  I used the Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities® Petites die from Spellbinders™ to cut my scraps.  I added some ribbon and over the knot I placed a flower cut from the same scraps of patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment from Red Lead Paperworks onto some white cardstock that I cut/embossed using my Classic Circles Nestabilities. 

The stamp is from Donna Salazar called Flutterby.  It's so big and pretty, isn't it?  I stamped it onto a piece of cardstock vellum using Versamark and embossed it with detail white embossing powder and then cut it out.  I put some Pop-Up Glue dots in the middle under the embossing and attached it to my card.

I hope you like this card as much as I do!  This was fun to make since I have been working with Fall and Christmas stuff so much recently.  Hope you are having a great weekend and will be talking to you soon!

 

Heartfelt Creations Fall Leaves!

Hello, everyone!  I hope your week has been a good one!  The weather here is wonderful and I have been out enjoying it.  Just sitting in the sun or taking a walk in the woods out in front of our house.  Its just so nice.  The leaves are really showing their colors, too.   Keeping with that theme, I have a card to show you made from some Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies.

This card is my first "official" project for Hearfelt Creations.  You can see my project along with all the other designers on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  The projects are going to blow you away!  Such beautiful creations!  I just love that the stamps have matching dies!   Please let me know if you are interested in a small tutorial about using the stamps & dies together, okay?  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A Racy Raspberry Doublemate Card!

On my quest to make some clean and simple cards, I made one that I know is pretty clean and simple.  But there is one problem with it.  It is a square card.  Now the post office charges 20 cents extra for a square card so this one will cost too much postage to do a bunch BUT it was fun to make AND I used some really cool cardstock from Discount Cardstock!

So this card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" square.  It's actually one of my favorite card sizes because of the amount of space there is to design on.  But when it comes to mailing it - I get alittle grumpy about the extra 20 cents!  LOL....  I used some really cool cardstock I just received from Discount Cardstock.com.  It's called Racy Raspberry DoubleMate.  One side of the cardstock is the dark raspberry color and the other side is the lighter color.  So I stamped the sentiment from JustRite® Stampers Christmas Nested Sentiments onto some vanilla cardstock.  I cut/embossed the sentiment using Labels 4 Nestabilities #4 (with #1 being the smallest).  I cut/embossed some more Labels 4 Nestabilities™ using each side of the one sheet of cardstock to get my matching colors.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey.  I added some lace and a pearl brad to complete my card.  Pretty easy and kinda fun to make!  I think I love the DoubleMate cardstocks at Discount Cardstock.com.

 

Clean & Simple Christmas Cards?

Did you know there are only 77 days until Christmas?  I know it's kinda depressing to think how fast time is flying by but now is the time to start working on those Christmas cards.  I was asked to make some Christmas Party invites that wouldn't cost extra to mail.  Which means - Clean & Simple - no big, beautiful bows or pearl brads, etc.  So here is what I came up with so far!

I used a new stamp from Heartfelt Creations called  HCPC 3352 Snowy Cardinal PreCut Set.  I cut my cardstock to 4 1/4" x 11 and folded it in half.  I cut the white cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4".  I punched the bottom scallop using a EK Success punch.  I added a small piece of velvet rick rack and a computer-generated sentiment and some Crystal Stickles for snow to finish this off.  What do you think?
