A Peek Into My Stamping Room

Heartfelt Creations!

As most of you know, I was picked to be on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team starting October 1.  I am so excited!  I love their beautiful, detailed rubber stamps and lovely sentiments so much.  My favorite part is the matching dies that Heartfelt Creations has designed, too.  Do you know who makes those matching dies?  You guessed it!  Spellbinders™ Paper Arts!!  Isn't that too cool?  Now you know, for me, this is a match made in my own personal heaven!  Here are the projects I made for the final round of the Heartfelt Creations Design team call.

This is a wall hanging made from some cereal box weight chipboard, cardstock and some heavy duty aluminum foil.  Can you say cheap?  You can bet I will be making a few more of these for some Christmas presents!  I will have a list of supplies linked to the Heartfelt Creations site at the end so you can check out what I used.  I used the Foil Embossing Technique that I showed you how to do HERE.  The snowflakes are stamped, embossed and the die cut using the matching dies.

Here is my second project using Heartfelt Creations!

For this card I used some additional Spellbinders™ dies.  First the white panel was embossed using the Floral & Stone Impressabilities and then I rounded the corners.  Then I cut/embossed a S4-291 Labels Fifteen Nestabilities™ out of purple cardstock.  I stamped the snowflakes onto some Vellum cardstock and heat embossed them using Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Then I cut/embossed using the HCD705 Holly Ornament Dies.  I layered these onto a white cardstock snowflake medallion that I cut/embossed using the same die.  I arrange the snowflakes onto the card and attached them using Mini Glue Dots.  I cut/embossed S4-223 Create A Flake Two Snowflake die from Spellbinders™.  I added the rhinestone bling and my card was complete.  It is a very sparkly card.  Sorry that my picture doesn't show that.

For today's hop I chose to make a scrapbook page of my daughter.  Her boyfriend, Matt, took this picture of her and I just love it!  Matt is a very talented photographer so be prepared for more scrapbook pages using his photos!  LOL

For my 12 x 12 scrapbook page, I used some flower stamps from Heartfelt Creations.  After stamping the flowers using Rich Cocoa Memento ink, I cut/embossed using the matching flower dies also from Heartfelt Creations.  I layered 2 of the flowers together and added some Nut Brown Flower Soft to the middle of all my flowers.  I think this really gives the flowers added dimension.  The Flower Soft glue bonds so well that once it dries, there is no flaking - so no worries there!

Here is a close-up of my flowers.  I chose to press the Flower Soft into the glue for a more compacted look.  To me, that just looks even more realistic!

Because this scrapbook page has so much dimension, I will be putting it into a 12 x 12 frame that I found at the local craft store so that we can hang it on the wall.    My journalling says:

This is your Senior year of high school.  Your Dad and I wonder how time could have flown by so quickly.  It seems like just yesterday, you were "Baby" Colleen.  It's your time now to explore and see what life has to offer.  Always remember that Dad and I will always be here for you as you bloom and grow!

 I hope I have sparked some ideas of using Flower Soft in a different way and on different projects.  There are so many possibilities!

Leaves Are Changing?

Well, now that it is officially Fall, I thought I would make a card to celebrate!

For this card, I used some images from DRS Designs.  I stamped the Candy Corn & Leaf Card Edger along the top and bottom of a piece of vanilla cardstock.  Using Copic Markers, I colored the leaves in.  I cut along the Leaf Card Edger border to make the scallops.  That sure makes a quick and easy card!  You just have to love that, don't you?  I stamped the Changing Leaves sentiment onto piece of vanilla cardstock and cut/embossed using the Labels Seventeen Nestabilities™. I added some brown gingham ribbon to complete this card.  Super fast and easy but a fun card to send to someone who needs a pick-me-up, don't you think?

Here is another card I made using the Candy Corn & Leaf Card Edger from DRS Designs.

For this card I used the new release, Candy Corn Buzz Bee stamp and one of my favorite sentiments from DRS Designs called Favorite Veggie Candy Corn Greeting.  I used the Candy Corn portion of the edger stamp along the bottom of the card and cut along the scallops.  I colored everything in with Copic Markers and used the Labels Sixteen Nestabilities™ to layer my sentiment on.

Please May I have S'More!

Don't you just love these images?  When I opened my package from DRS Designs and saw this cute little "S'more" I couldn't wait to get him inky!  To make this card, I first stamped my background using the Marshmallow Background (H281) and white craft ink.  Then I sprinkled on some Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heat set.  Then I inked the last sentence to the new sentiment S'more Greeting (K376) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamped it onto some white cardstock.  I punched out the greeting using an EK Success punch and layered it onto a piece of dark chocolate cardstock, adding gold brads in the corners.  The Smiling S'more image was stamped onto some white cardstock and colored using Copic Markers.  I added some crystal stickles to give him some shimmer.  I layered the image onto a white Classic Square Nestabilities™ Lg.  I also used the new Eyelet Squares Nestabilities™ cut/embossed from the dark chocolate cardstock.  To finish my card, I added some brown gingham ribbon.

Here is another card I made using the S'More Greeting (K376) and Smooshed S'more (E382).  So much fun!

I made the base of this card using the Deepest Mahogany cardstock, folded into an A-2 card and cut using Labels 8 Nestabilities™ #6.  I cut/embossed some yellow cardstock using the #5 Labels 8 Nestabilities™.  To find out which die is which, start numbering like this - smallest is #1 and on up!  I stamped the S'more Greeting Sentiment onto white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut/embossed using Labels 8 Nestabilities #4.  I stamped the Smooshed S'more onto white cardstock twice and colored it using Copic Markers.  I cut them out and mounted them onto my card using some Pop Up Glue Dots®.  I used a Slot Punch to make a place for my ribbon on the Label 8 die cut and at the fold of my card.  I thread the ribbon thru the slots and tied it into a knot to complete my card. 

These were so much fun to make!  Can't you just picture some cute Bonfire Party favors made using these images?  I sure can and since we are having a Bonfire soon, I am gonna get busy!!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Hello Monday!

So it's Monday again!  I can't decide if I want that to be a positive or a negative, LOL!  We had a busy weekend here in the Seyer household.  There was a big marching band competition and a terrible thunderstorm ending with our house being out of electric for 12 hours.  Not a fun way to spend Saturday night into Sunday, let me tell you.

 

This is a card I made using a new release from DRS Designs.  This Precious Pumpkin stamp will be available for purchase on 9/22 but I thought he was so cute, I just had to give you a sneek peak.  Don't you just love him?  I can't believe we are already talking about Halloween.  Time sure flies!  Well this is all for today!  Hope you have a great Monday!

For my project today, I made a Fall basket for my house.  I just love to decorate for fall and thought this would be a great opportunity to make something new!

 

I used the Top Heavy Pillow Box template from The Digichick Shop to make my basket.  I followed the Splitcoaststampers Tutorial on how to make a Pillow Box Bucket but since I didn't have the Pillow Box die from Sizzix, I figured the Pillow Box template would work and it did! 

Here is a close up of my Autumn basket on the front of the basket!

  I stamped the basket from Autumn Fun stamp set (Mark's Finest Papers) and colored it using Copic Markers.  I cut out just the basket portion and layered it onto a Labels Sixteen Nestabilities.  I added some Autumn Mix Flower Soft for the top of my basket.  I added a fall sentiment and my Fall Basket was finished!  Too fun!!  Love the look that Autumn Flower Soft gives, don't you?

A Sketch Challenge for You!

My Free For All Friday!

Wow, things have been so busy around our house the last 2 weeks!  So I decided that I will post my own Free-For-All!  I have a few cards I have made that I would love to share with you!

This card I made using a new stamp set that I got at the CHA Supershow from Taylored Expressions called CreativiTEA.  I stamped the flower image repeatedly and colored it in with Copic Markers.

The patterned paper for this card is from The Girls' Paperie.  I used a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! for the main image and embossed it using black embossing powder.  I added some black organdy ribbon and a ribbon tag from Spellbinders.  Did you notice my brand spanking new Spellbinders die on this card?  Don't you just love the Beaded Ovals?  I got some other new release stuff from Spellbinders to share with you over the next few weeks, too!

I just love this image!  It's a new release from DRS Designs called Wintertime Buddies.  I colored this cute image in using Copic Markers.  Then I added some Crystal Stickles to the fur of Santa's outfit.  I cut out the image and layered it on a piece of white cardstock that I embossed only using a Labels Nine Nestabilities.  The sentiment called Small Merry Christmas.

My project for you today uses some brand-new stamps I received from Verve stamps!  I just love this set and think it works super with my favorite Flower Soft color - Ultra Fine Strawberry Flower Soft. 

The base for this card is made from black cardstock.  I used some My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary Collection for the cute gingham patterned paper.  I stamped the heart image from the Love Story stamp set from Verve, 3 times using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I colored in the images and cut/emboss them using Classic Squares Lg Nestabilities™.  I layered them onto black cardstock cut/embossed using Labels Fifteen Nestabilities™.    I stamped the sentiment onto a white piece of cardstock and cut/embossed from Labels Four Nestabilities™.  After I layered everything together, I stamped the heart image one more time and colored, cut and applied the Ultra Fine Strawberry Flower Soft .  I used up some left over pieces of a gem flourish from Prima for my embellishment.
