So today is my day to post a project on The Hybrid Chick blog. I hope you will check out this project because I just love how it turned out! Using a PDF template, I made an cupcake-shaped invitation with matching envelope and a matching pillow box for some treats.

Hello, Everyone! Hope you had a great week. My girls started school on Wednesday and this week has been kinda hectic. Lot's of back to school shopping for clothes and supplies. I hope you had fun hopping with the DRS Designs Blog Hop Scavenger Hunt. Today the winners are announced on the DRS Designs blog. Sure hope one of you wins some of those great new releases.
Here is a project I made with some of my favorite DRS Designs stamps!
To make this tag, I wanted to use some Iridescent Ice embossing powder except that I didn't have any. So what I ended up doing is mixing together some clear embossing powder and glitter. Works just as well for me! I wonder what it looks like if you use colored glitter? I will have to give that a try! Using Versamark ink pad, I stamped the Large Filigree Snowflake and Medium Filigree Snowflake onto some Baja Breeze cardstock and embossed using my homemade glittery embossing powder. After heat setting, I layered this onto a tag. I stamped the Christmas Music Background onto some ivory cardstock using Baja Breeze ink. I fitted the ivory piece where I wanted it and then tore it. I used a sponge and added some Baja Breeze ink on all edges Then I cut out the other snowflakes I embossed and layered them together. See that cool brad? It's from Stampin' Up! The new Antique Brads are so pretty. I stamped the Silent Night, Holy Night sentiment twice using Crumb Cake ink and punched it out using a EK Success punch. I added some lace and ribbon at the top and my tag is finished!

Here are my cards for today's hop!
Here is my first card. I used a sketch that I found a few weeks ago. I really liked this sketch because it was simple and not too "bumpy"!! LOL For this card, I used the new release Holly Oval (K166) and cut/embossed it using a Standard Ovals Lg Nestabilities. I stamped the Small Merry Christmas (B1014) using red ink onto white cardstock. I cut/embossed using a smaller Standard Ovals Lg Nestabilities and layered that onto a red scalloped oval. I added the lace, gold trees and olive twill to complete the card. Super simple and hopefully not too much extra on the postage!
For my next card I used the same two stamps - Holly Oval and Small Merry Christmas and I added the Holly Background. I stamped the background using olive ink onto olive cardstock. I added the lace and ribbon to complete the card. I think these will make great, simple Christmas cards to mass produce. I probably won't use that big bow but you get the idea! Hope you are having a great weekend! My friend, Kim, is a Stampin' Up! demo and I went to her monthly stamping class yesterday. It was so fun. Plus it got some of my creative juices flowing. Here is a card I made based on one of the cards we made at Kim's class. I used some new Papertrey Ink stamps and dies that another Stamping Sister, Elizabeth, got for me at the CHA Supershow. Fun!
I used Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake ink for this card. I have to say that the new color - Crumb Cake - from Stampin' Up! is super nice! Just love it!. Of course, I used my favorite stuff, too. I used Labels 12 Nestabilities for the sentiment and some organdy ribbon plus a pearl sticker in the middle of the flower. This card is just for fun. I don't take enough time to stamp for fun anymore and I have to start!

For my card today, I chose the Wicker Swing stamp for my main image. I thought it would look great with Flower Soft and I was right! I decided to make this a summery card, so I used some Flower Soft Summer Mix for the flowers. I think you could use any color of Flower Soft to make this stamp fit any theme. I colored the image using Copic Markers and added some Stickles to the heart in the center. The sentiment is called Simple Pleasures and I thought it fit this image perfectly. There is nothing better than sitting on the porch swing visiting with friends!

This week on Flower Soft TV, there will be a great little show all about the new Recipes Download. I just love these images...so cute. Plus you can download them and use them anytime you want without worry about storage or purchasing more when you run out! Here is what I made with my Recipes Download from Flower Soft TV.
Using a chipboard clipboard that I found at the local dollar store (yes, it cost $1!), I covered the clipboard with some Chalkboard paint. You need to apply at least 2 coats and I have to say its a bugger to get off your hands. So don't be messy!! LOL
After coating the clipboard with 2 coats, I printed out the cute gingham paper from the Recipes Download and adhered it to the bottom of the clipboard using Scor-Tape. I have found that Modge Podge doesn't work that well with digital papers. Using more Scor-Tape, I added some lace around the edges of the gingham paper. I printed out the Telephone Numbers image and on that page comes the little phones and hearts. I cut those out and added some Ultra Fine Strawberry Flower Soft. The piece of cork board is from a sheet of 12 x 12 cork that I bought at Wal-mart. So if you do the math, this clipboard cost me about $4 at the most! I think it will make a wonderful gift!

Here is Lydia and Jimmi at the Splitcoaststampers booth. They had the cutest Make 'n Takes plus were giving out the neatest stamp made by Unity! I also got to chat with Beate and Lori Craig. It was so nice to see everyone!
This is a picture I snapped of Taylor Van Bruggan and Melissa Sauls in the Taylored Expressions booth. Super cute make 'n takes, super cute stamps to buy and super cute samples to look at! This booth was wonderful! The temptation was too great and had to make a small purchase of the uber cool stamps! I will share them with you later in the week.
Here is a picture of me and Deb Felts. It was so nice to meet her finally! I have been chatting with her on Facebook and in emails for awhile now. We have even been on the same design teams and still hadn't met so this was a treat for me! What a nice lady!
Here is a picture of the booth I was working in - Flower Soft! I had so much fun showing all those who stopped how great Flower Soft is! Here is a picture of Noreen and Jeanne from the Flower Soft team. Noreen you probably recognize from Flower Soft TV. Just love her accent and sense of humor. Jeanne is the Design Team Coordinator and makes such wonderful samples using Flower Soft. Did you see the latest issue of Cardmaker Magazine? The September issue has a card made by Jeanne on the cover! Its the cutest card using a Flower Soft Headhog Topper. Sweet!
Well, I had lots of fun working and checking out all the goodies at the CHA Supershow. I am still trying to catch up on sleep but hopefully, I will be able to get to making some projects today! Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Well, I am back from the CHA Supershow. My Stamping Sisters and I left Thursday morning and had a nice leisurely drive from St. Louis to Chicago. The show opened on Friday morning and it was so much fun.
Here I am with my Stamping Sisters - starting on the left - me, Elizabeth, Shelly, Roberta. At one point we have all been Stampin' Up! demos, in the same downline and went to 4 Stampin' Up! conventions together. Since Shelly & I aren't demos any longer, we decided to go on this trip. We are missing one of the sisters, Kim, but I know next year she will be with us!
In this picture, I am cutting 3 In-Spades Pendants plus the centers and pieces all at the same time. The whole thing cut so well. All you do is build your sandwich and roll it thru. No cranking, no spacer plates. There are 2 separate plates for cutting and embossing that are marked at the bottom so you know which one to use. The cutting plate is white and the Embossing plate is pink. After cutting, you lay the embossing pad down and add the pink embossing plate and roll it thru again. Just awesome! So easy and you only need one hand to crank!!

Thanks to Kim and Cathy for letting me play with the new Grand Caliber Machine. You can bet, as soon as possible, I am getting one for myself!
Here is a picture of my friends - starting on the left- Terre Fry, Heidi Blankenship, Janine Blackwelder and me. We were all on the 2009 Spellbinders Design team together. It was great seeing them again! Heidi and Terre were so tired after working the Trade show so we didn't get to visit long but it was wonderful to see them!
I will have more to share tomorrow so check back! I bought some great goodies plus took more pictures! What a great trip!
