This week, I have been making card sets for gifts to give to the girl's teachers. I think a nice set of cards in a matching box is a great gift and let's face it, we all have the supplies, so its kinda cheap! ;)
Here is the box I created that will hold 4 cards:
I started this project with just one sheet of 12 x 12 patterned paper from October Afternoon. All the supplies - cardstock, ribbon, embellishments and dies where picked to match the paper. I used 3 sheets of Kraft cardstock, scraps of Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides & Ripe Avocado cardstock, 1 full sheet of Spring Moss cardstock and some Pure Luxury Pure White cardstock from Gina K. Designs. I will have a tutorial on making this box in my next post. It's super easy. All you need is 1 sheet of cardstock, Scor-Pal or other scoring tool, Scor-Tape or other strong adhesive and some embellishments.
Here are 2 of the cards I made to go inside. All the stamps are from DRS Designs.
Card #1 is a Get Well Soon card. I used the new release Fair Isle Pendant, Flower Silhouette Impressabilities®, Big Scalloped Border Grand, Classic Square Nestabilities™ Lg and Ribbon Tag Trio - all from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts. The base of all 4 of my cards is made from Kraft Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad. The sentiment is from the Get Well Prayer stamp. I just used the Get Well Soon portion of the stamp for the front and stamped the prayer portion inside.
Card #2 is a Happy Birthday card. I used some paper piecing with this Picnic Basket stamp. The sentiment panel was cut from Petite Ovals Sm. Nestabilities™ and layered onto a Labels 10 die cut from Ripe Avocado cardstock. For the paper piecing, I used Kraft cardstock for the basket and some of the patterned paper for the tablecloth. I colored the rest using Copic Markers. The scalloped detail is a piece of the scalloped border I cut for Card #1. I tied the ribbon and added a button plus a twine bow to complete the card.
I will share the rest of my cards and how to make the box tomorrow. This was a fun project! Hope it inspires you to make some Teacher Appreciation gifts!
Hi there, Debbie!
Just popping by and wanted to say pretty stuff! I especially like the Get Well card. It's so girlie and in such non-girlie colors. A great combo!
