This week at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, DRS Designs is the sponsor. The sketch was a really neat one and I had alot of fun making my card. I used a non-traditional color scheme for the card and I think it turned out really neat!
I got my color combo from the patterned paper from the Cosmo Cricket Collection - Jolly by Golly. The colors in this patterned paper match Riding Hood Red and Aqua Mist perfectly. My card is 5 1/4" square of Kraft cardstock. For the bottom layer, I stamped the Medium Filigree Snowflake using Versamark onto Riding Hood Red cardstock. I matted the patterned paper onto a piece of Aqua Mist cardstock. For the sentiment, I stamped the Glittering/Twinkling Christmas Greeting using Riding Hood Red ink pad onto Shimmery White cardstock. After stamping, I cut/embossed using the Labels 4 nestabilities. I layered the sentiment panel onto a larger Labels 4 cut from Aqua Mist cardstock. For my ribbon treatment, I used a cool stamp from DRS Designs. Its called the ribbon slide! This one is the Bow Ribbon Slide. I stamped the ribbon slide onto Shimmery White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it in using markers. I carefully cut it out and using my craft knife I made two slits in the middle to allow my ribbon to slide on thru! Easy! I added some snowflakes with rhinestone to complete this card.I just love these images from DRS Designs. You can make such a unique card when using non-traditional colors, can't you? What are you favorite color combos for your Christmas Cards? I would love to know!
Another beauty! Love those colors.
