Hello JustRite Font Blog Hoppers! Hope you are enjoying the 2nd day of the Font Blog hop. Aren't all the projects just wonderful? I feel very honored to be involved with such talented ladies! If you came to my blog first, I would encourage you to start at the JustRite Stampers blog and work your way down the list.
So now that you have gone thru the list, here is my project. I have been wanting to make something for our house that reflects our family but I didn't want to use pictures. We live in a little log cabin, right in the middle of about 20 acres. I wanted the project to reflect our family. The JustRite Stampers Fonts made this so easy. What do you think?
This is a 10 x 10" frame I picked up at Garden Ridge on clearance. I started with a 10x10" piece of Kraft cardstock. Then I cut a piece of light blue cardstock to 8 x 8". I airbrushed "clouds" using my Copic Airbrush system, light blue copic marker and a scrap piece of cardstock that I cut using Labels 6 nestabilities . Using my rotary cutter to make a "wavy" cut, I cut some white cardstock out for the "snow". I ran a thin bead of glue at the edge of the white cardstock and applied some Polar White Flower Soft. While that was drying I got busy on my trees.
Now I have 3 girls - Colleen, Caitlyn and Cassie. So I thought it would be cute to cut out Christmas Trees for each one of us. The new Nested Pine Tree Nestabilities from Spellbinders worked perfectly for this. Two large trees for my husband and I, two middle size trees for my older 2 daughters and one tiny tree for my 9 year old, Cassie. Using a stamp positioner and the small Rectangle Stamper, I got busy! For Keith's tree, I used the Times New Roman Upper Case Font set. I stamped his name across the middle of the tree using Van Dyke Brown ink pad from Ranger. Then without re-inking I stamped his name again in a different area. I repeated this pattern over the whole tree. For the other 3 trees, I used the Trompe Script upper and lower case fonts. I used the stamp positioner and the same Van Dyke Brown ink pad for all the girls names. Here is what my larger trees look like up close.
For the smallest tree, I used the uppercase Trompe Script for the "C" and the 15 pt Times New Roman font for the rest of her name. There wasn't a whole lotta room to stamp Cassie's name a bunch. Here is a close-up.
You can see that I tried to stamp her name a few more times just so the little tree would look like the others!
For the cabin, I cut a triangle of patterned paper and a rectangle of a coordinating paper. Using the scalloped punch, I punched some Certainly Celery cardstock and cut it to go under the triangle that's the roof. I added a rectangle of blue cardstock for the door and used a brad for the knob.
The picture just needed one other thing. I made a "tag" with our last name and wishes for a joyous season. Here is a close up:
I used the Holiday Demi Phrases for the top part of the circle and the Celebrations Demi Phrases for the bottom part. Both of these Demi phrases fit perfectly into the 2" Wood Stamper. After stamping, I cut/embossed using the Classic Circles Nestabilities, then sponged around the outside edges using Antique Linen Distress ink. For the middle circle, I used the 2" Wood Stamper and the Times New Roman 15 pt Font to spell out our family name. I stamped and then cut/embossed and sponged the edges. I put everything together and then mounted it onto my picture using 3d Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
I hope that you have enjoyed my project. There are a bunch of great projects to check out from yesterday and today (54 designers in all!). Have fun and leave comments when you can. Why you ask?

This is such an awesome idea! I hope you don't mind if I CASE it for my kids & their families! Can't wait to do one with dogs for my daughter that has a dog training business! I may have to do outlines of doggies instead of trees, but you've definately got my brain working now. I just love your work & using these Just Rite sets is just another reason that so many of us are going to be soooo broke after we're done ordering!
