A Peek Into My Stamping Room

Wonderful Surprises....

No I don't have a surprise to share with you BUT I do have a card I made that uses the cutest birthday sentiment. 

 

For today's card, I used the new Labels 6 Die Templates from Spellbinders.  First I stamped the cameo broach image from Timeless Treasures by GinaK Designs.  Then I cut/embossed using the Labels 6 die.  Leaving the die in place, I then used my Copic Airbrush System to get that light pink color.  I used some two-sided patterned paper from Crafty Secrets and the Renaissance Pendant center cut/embossed 2 times.  I stamped the sentiment from Eclectic Summer Sayings onto a Petite Ovals Lg and mounted it onto the Renaissance centers, then placed another black Labels 6 behind that.  After knotting the ribbon, I attached the sentiment using some 3d foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

I can always use a birthday card in my stash, can't you?  I may have to make a couple more of these to have around!  Hope you have a great day!!

Wow, what a great day!

So Thursday was a great day for me.  You see, I have 2 cards in the Holiday Cards & More magazine from Paper Crafts and that magazine came out on Monday, August 24.  Then Thursday one of my cards was on the Moxie Fab Blog!  Classy and elegant?  Well, I will definitely take that compliment and bask in the feeling for a few minutes because those kinds of compliments are few and far between!

I wanted to share with you a project that I made for Spellbinders.  This project is on the Spellbinders website with other great projects for your inspiration!

I used an empty Accent & Elements tin from Stampin' Up! for this Pull Out Scrapbook!

 

I used some really cute paper from Upsy Daisy Designs.  Plus I used the Eyelet Pendants, Labels 9 and Flower Creations to decorate the front of my tin.  I used Craft & Photo Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to attach the cardstock to the tin.  For the tag, I printed that out using my printer and cut/embossed it using the Double Ended Tag die. Believe it or not, I did not stamp on this entire project!  Wow, that doesn't happen much!!

 

For the inside of the tin, I continued with the same colors.  I journaled using my printer again, then cut/embossed using the Labels 4 die template.  I used Floral Accents & the Eyelet Pendant accent to decorate both pages.  The page with the picture of my barefoot flower girl is the pull-out section of my scrapbook.

Just click on the picture to see everything better.  As you can tell, I went crazy with my Eyelet Pendants and Borderabilities.  I love this color combo, too!  I will have a tutorial on how to make this pull-out scrapbook at a later date.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

DRS Sketch Challenge!

Today is Challenge Day on the DRS Designs Blog and this challenge is a sketch challenge.  Now I don't know about you, but a sketch challenge is one of my favorite challenges!  You can see the sketch HERE.

Limited Supplies and a Masculine card....

I had some time yesterday so I decided to participate in the Limited Supply challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  The challenge was to make a masculine card without any feminine bling.  Here is my card!  My oldest needed a birthday card for a guy friend so I got double-duty out of this card!

I made my own background paper using the GinaK Designs set - Timeless Treasures.  I uses various Distress Inks and sponged pretty heavily around the edge of my vanilla cardstock.  The pocket watch is from the Timeless Heritage die by Spellbinders.  I left my paper in the die after embossing and using my Copic Airbrush system added the brown hightlights.  Then added some hardware.  The sentiment is also from GinaK - Special Fathers.  Using my new Labels 8, I cut/embossed a vanilla label and a brown label.  This was a fun card to make.  I don't make too many masculine cards but with these great images from GinaK Designs its quite easy!!  Hope you are having a great weekend!

I went to CHA with Spellbinders, my roommate & fellow design team member was Kazan Clark. Well, Kazan and her friend Laura Davis, have a great sketch challenge blog - 2 Sketches 4 You. So my card uses this week's wonderful sketch.I also used some new My Mind's Eye paper I just got the other day called French Flea Market.  The beautiful butterflies are from the set - Take Flight from GinaK Designs. Don't you just love them? I used my Copic Airbrush system to color my butterflies.  Its really hard to see in this photo but I also coated my butterflies with the new Rock Candy Distress Stickles.  When I was at CHA, I watched Tim Holtz demo this product and its such a wonderful, subtle sparkle.  Kinda like that decorators sugar on sugar cookies.  Love It!!

Using my new Infinity Board!

In the most recent Stamping Lifestyle Weekly from GinaK Designs, there where great directions to make an Infinity Board.  An Infinity Board is a great background for your cards and other projects when your taking pictures for your blog and other galleries.  I made my Infinity Board in about 20 minutes.  It took me that long because I couldn't find my yard stick, LOL!!  Here is a card I made and I used the new Infinity Board when I took my picture!  I think it really helped but I do need just alittle more light.  Well, I am off for some back-to-school shopping!  Have a great day!

Secret Santa Gift is JustRite!

Here is another project I made using my A Merry Little Christmas set by JustRite Stampers.  This little container is a metal tin that comes full of those powdered coffee mixes.  Actually my hubby saved it and handed it to me - saying "I bet this would make a cute something"!  I kinda laughed and set it aside.  Then I was working on my projects for the JustRite Christmas Blog Hop, it was right there just waiting for me to make it cute!!  LOL

I used some retired designer paper from Stampin' Up! and my Create a Flake 1 die templates from Spellbinders, to jazz it up.  I cut/embossed a Scalloped Circle out of Riding Hood Red cardstock and then I stamped the Secret Santa Border.  Then using repositionable tape I cut/embossed the circle.  After I stamped the Santa Hat image, I colored it with my copic markers and carefully cut it out.  Using some pop dots, I attached the santa hat and then added some Crystal Stickles. 

I wrapped some ribbon around the outside of the plastic lid and covered the rest of the lid with some matching designer paper.  This was actually pretty easy to make!  You should be saving all those little containers to put a nice little gift in.  It would save alot of money plus the gift is so special because you made it!!

I am so excited to be a part of this Christmas Blog hop with all these talented designers.  I really want to share my excitment so I will be giving away Blog Candy!  Be sure to check out my whole post to see how to win!!

The JustRite set I am working with today is called A Merry Little Christmas Set.  There are 10 Borders & Centers and it fits the 1 5/8" stamper. I just love this set and there are so many projects you can make with each stamp.  From Merry Christmas to you to Happy New Year, the possbilities are endless.

My project is a little gift box with a matching card.  The gift box is perfect for candies or other small items.

For the card, I used the snowflake center only from the Merry Little Christmas Set to stamp on the white panel.  I then stamped the Merry Christmas to You center and border using red ink.  Because I love everything to be perfectly centered, I stamped the images using red ink onto white cardstock first and then using repositionable tape, cut/embossed the circle using my Nestabilities Standard Circle from Spellbinders.   Using the new Create a Flake 1 die templates, I cut/embossed some snowflakes and highlighted them with Crystal Stickles.  This was a quick and easy card to make.

For the box, I used the same Merry Christmas to you without the border.  I mounted my circle onto another Create A Flake 1 snowflake.  The box has 3 "windows" so you can see inside!

A Gift of Cards......

Do you ever want to give a gift of cards but are afraid to take the time and effort?  I love to give hand-made items as gifts.  The cards for this gift set are pretty simple but when you add in the great Card Organizer box, you have a wonderful gift set.

 

Using 4 sentiments and one image, all from DRS Designs, I made this gift set.  The card organizer is made from 2 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" So Saffron Cardstock.  The top detail is made with 2 strips of 12 x 12 Core'dinations cardstock.  Using the new Impressabilities - Pebbles, I embossed the detail and then sanded to reveal the core of the cardstock.  I stamped the image, Bloomin' Huge Flower (M1023) with Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored it in with Copic Markers.  I carefully cut them out and used the Scalloped Paisley Nestabilities for my leaves.  Here is a close-up of my Card Organizer Box.

Each of the cards uses a different sentiment.  All of these small sentiments fit perfectly into the Double Ended Tag die template from Spellbinders.  I used Just A Note (B244), Happy Birthday (B250), Get Well Soon (B254) and Thank You! .  Each card has a white cardstock panel that was dry embossed using the Pebbles Impressabilities.  I also used the Labels 4 under my tags for a special touch.

 

I think these DRS Designs images make a quick and simple card look very elegant.  I will have a tutorial on how to make the Card Organizer on my blog in a few weeks!  Hope you are having a great week!
