A Peek Into My Stamping Room

Copic Marker Practice......

remember back in April when I took that Copic Marker Certification class while on my Spellbinders retreat?  Well, I finally got to practice with some of my Copic markers.  I took a new image I got from Flourishes and stamped it a bunch and took a stack with me to my Mom's house and colored when I couldn't sleep!  Here is the results:

Here I used an image from Flourishes called Sweet Violets.  I stamped it using Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I am sorry that I don't remember the marker colors I used. 

To make this card, I cut and embossed the image using the Labels 3 Nestabilities.  For the background, I used the Flowers Impressabilities and the sentiment is from Verve.  These are some of the thank you notes for our wonderful friends who made food for us while caring for my Dad and after during the Funeral days.  I think something alittle above the normal thank you was in order, don't you?  Plus I got my Mom busy putting everything together.

Its funny because she wouldn't even try my Wizard.  Mom said it looked scary but she sure wasn't shy telling me what to cut and how it should look.  LOL!!  We had fun making my colored images into cards!

I can't begin to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.  I did want to share with you the Collage I made with the help of my girls, for Grandpa Larry.

Each picture we take tells a story, doesn't it?  I treasure every memory on this board and I know it really helped all of us to remember the fun times we had with Grandpa Larry. We are taking these photos and making a scrapbook of just Grandpa Larry.  I think its a good thing for the girls to do.  Its so hard to deal with death as an adult, I sure hope I can help the girls get through all this.  We are  joining a grieving support group that is sponsored by Hospice and I know it will be good for all of us.

Now on to the good stuff!!  I used a new packet of My Mind's Eye papers I just got called Bloom & Grow.  Isn't it beautiful?  I purchased it from Eclectic Paperie right before everything got crazy.  I just love the color combo and how happy everything is.

I am slowly getting everything cleaned up in my stamp room and getting ready to sit down and actually work!  I have a bunch of deadlines coming up and I am looking forward to being busy!!  Thanks again for all your prayers and support, it means so much to me and my family!  Talk to you soon.

Heaven is a much better place.....

This is my dad and he passed away on Thursday evening.  I will miss him very much and am thankful he came into my life when I was 8 years old.  It never mattered to him that I had a different biological dad.  He is the best Grandpa and Father anyone could ask for.  Larry, I will miss you very much!  Thanks for you thoughts and prayers.  I could feel them when going thru this difficult time!  I love you all very much!

I wanted to share.....

alittle of my personal life with you.  Right now, my Dad is in his final stages of life.  He has fought a very hard battle for the last 9 years - Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and other problems.  I am helping my family take care of him and have been extremely busy.  I don't know when I will get back to posting regularly but I ask that you pray for my family and my Dad.  Thanks so much!

Smooch!!

No, not that kind of Smooch but the Clearsnap kind!!  At the Spellbinders retreat, I got a bunch of goodies from Clearsnap and their new line of Smooch Pearlized Ink Accents was included!!  I tried it out tonight on my butterfly.  I made a card for the Limited Supply Challenge today - make a card for any holiday in May.  I chose Teacher Appreciation week (which ended today!).  Here is my card:

Supplies Used:  Clear Stamps by Basic Grey; Cardstock by Paper Trey Ink; Classic & Scallop Paisley Nestabilities, Long Scallop & Classic Rectangles Lg Nestabilities, Butterfly Reflections; Pink Pirouette ribbon, white gel pen, dimensionals; Rose Petals Que & Citrine fluid chalk ink pads - Colorbox; Moonlight Smooch by Clearsnap, Versamark ink pad; 3d foam squares by 3L Scrapbook Adhesives.

I had fun making this card.  I stamped the flower image 3 times in Citrine - once on my Paisley die cut and once on scratch paper.  I stamped it again using the Rose Petals Que fluid chalk ink pads and cut it out.  I then pieced it onto my paisley die and cut out the leaves and pieced them too.  Its hard to see it but the butterfly has a cool pearly look to it.  I have Smooch in a lot of colors and I think I need to use it alot more!! LOL

Krafty Thoughtfulness

Here is a card I made for the Ways to Use It challenge yesterday.  You were to use Kraft cardstock in your creation.  Here it is!

Totally Special.....

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  This week has been busy!  I got all my Spellbinders DT projects finished, photographed and instructions typed up.  Everything was sent off and now I get to start again! LOL  But I did take some time to make a card for the Color & Sketch Challenge combined. 

The Color Challenge was Ballet Blue, Cameo Coral & Garden Green.  I didn't have any Garden Green so I used a piece of patterned paper by Graphic 45.  I ran my white base layer thru the Wizard and used the Flowers Impressabilities.  I really love those.  They cover the entire A-2 card!  Its too cool!  I used a 6" borderabilities for my Cameo Coral strip.  After cutting and embossing it, I left the die in place and used the die template as my paper piercing guide, too.  WOW!  How cool is that?

I will post the supplies later.  Right now, I am off be the taxi driver to piano lessons!!

Happy Birthday Sweet 16!

My oldest daughter turns 16 today.  Here are a couple of cards I made her!

My second birthday card is for my parents to give to the birthday girl.  I used the same stamp set and paper just changed up the size and layout and I used different nestabilities!!

These were fun to make.  I really like those little cupcakes.  These stamps were some stamps I received on my retreat!  Too fun!!  Hope you have a great day!
