Mojo and Color Combo Combined....

Here is a card I made for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the color combo challenge on Splitcoast.  I needed a thank you card for my neighbor because she made me the best birthday cake!  It was pretty and really tasted good.

This was a fun card to make.  You see this past Saturday was my birthday.  I got some money from my parents and father-in-law, so Saturday night I got on the computer and ordered some Verve sets I have been wanting.  You know what?  I got them yesterday!!  How is that for fast shipping?  Pretty cool.   Hope you are having a good week.  I am still fighting a cold.  I think I will take some advice a friend gave me and start taking vitamins!!

DRS Sneak Peak!

Today is my day to blog on the DRS Designs Blog!  This week I will be showing some of the upcoming new releases that will be available.  Make sure to check back here often as I will have more information about a way you can win some great new releases from DRS Designs!!  Can I just give you a hint - blog hop on April 3!!  LOL

Here is my card for today:

That snail is too cute, isn't she?  I regularly make birthday cards because I have been sending a card to all the parishoners in our church.  I just love it when someone comes up to me at church and thanks me for the card!  Not only does the card make them happy but I have met quite a few people that I may have not met otherwise!  It's fun!

I used some patterned paper from my stash for this card.  The colors in the patterned paper almost match Certainly Celery and Regal Rose.  I used the Label 2 Nestabilities for the main image and the scalloped circle punch for the sentiment!  I used a combo of Stampin' Up! markers and Copic Markers for the Snail and stamped the sentiment in Regal Rose.

Limited Supply Challenge - Black & White Only!

On Fridays, its the Limited Supply Challenge.  Today the challenge was to use Black & White only on your project.  Here is mine! This is a 5 1/4" square card.

I stamped the Toile Background using basic black ink onto whisper white cardstock.  I used a martha Stewart edge punch on the white & black layers.  The sentiment is from Verve.  Its from the Plain Jane line.  Wow, I love those stamps.  They are cheap and are the perfect sentiments!  You can always use a good sentiment, can't you!

Supplies Used:  Toile Background, Sentiment - Verve; whisper white, basic black cardstock; may arts ribbon, pretties kit, rectangle nestabilities, edge punch and glue dots!!

Sketch Challenge .....but alittle late!

So this week has been a bit challenging.  You see I have a cold or something.  I hate it when I am sick.  Its terrible for my routine.  I took 2 days off and everything is all behind.  So I sat down tonight and made this card for the Wednesday sketch challenge on Splitcoast.

Supplies:  Beautiful Kindness stamp set by Verve; Graphic 45 patterned paper - Fashionista Collection; Basic Black cardstock & ink, So Saffron, Whisper White cardstock; black ribbon, brads, scalloped square punch, key hole punch, lace.

Its a pretty simple card but when you just don't feel good something easy is great!  Actually its Simply Fabulous!! LOL

A New Color Challenge.....

The color challenge for this week on Splitcoast is Kiwi Kiss, Pretty In Pink & Baja Breeze.  I found some patterned paper that fit the challenge. 

Supplies Used:  Dear Friend (Level 1 Hostess Set-Stampin' Up!); Baja Breeze, Whisper White cardstock; Bella Rose DSP & Rhonda Farrar paper pack; Baja Breeze classic ink pad, Black Stazon; Photo Corner punch, rhinestone brads, double-striped ribbon, Label 2 Nestabilities & Markers.

This was actually pretty easy but it didn't come together fast.  I started it and had to leave for a funeral luncheon I was in charge of.  Came home and finally got to sit down and finished it.  Now I am too tired to do anything else! LOL

Mojo Monday......Beautiful Kindness

I recently got a couple of the new releases from Verve.  Here is a card I made for the Mojo Monday #79 sketch.  The set is called Beautiful Kindness.

The sketch is for the Mojo Monday sketch and I really like this one.  I used the swirly stamp from this set for my background by first inking the stamp with Melon Berry ink and then stamping off to get that lighter color.  I stamped the butterfly twice.  Once in brown ink and then again in the Melon Berry color.  I cut out the Melon Berry Butterfly and attached it over the brown butterfly using dimensionals.  After the whole card was put together, I added Crystal Stickles to the butterfly.

DRS Blog Challenge #17 - One-Layer Card

Today there is a challenge over on the DRS blog.  If you enter the challenge, you could win some great blog candy so be sure to check it out!!

Here is the card I made for the One-Layer Card Challenge:

I used the Ribbon Slide Butterfly (D681) and the A Friendly Note (D586) for my One-Layer card.  I stamped my butterfly image using Basic Black classic ink pad and colored them in with my Baja Breeze Blender pen marker.  I then used my Versamarker and colored all over the image, dusted it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set.  There is a nice glittery shine to my butterflies.  Plus I added those white half pearls for the middle of my butterflies.  I tied a piece of Aqua Mist satin ribbon around the top and the whole card is done!  How simple is that?  Even with embossing, the card didn't take 10 minutes to make!!  Fantastic!!

Saturday is Inspiration Challenge day!

On Splitcoast, the challenge for Saturday is the Inspiration challenge.  The challenge hostess picks a website and you go there to see what you can find that will inspire your card or project.  Here is the link to today's Inspiration Challenge.

Here is my card that was inspired by this dress:

For this card, I use the Friends 24-7 stamp set.  I stamped the damask stamp onto the Kiwi Kiss base using Kiwi Kiss ink.  Then I cut out 2 Top Note Dies - one of Riding Hood Red and the other of Bella Rose DSP.  Then I used my Rectangle Nestabilities and cut out the Whisper White rectangle and the Riding Hood Red Scalloped rectangle.  I stamped the damask stamp on the white using the Kiwi Kiss ink.  Then I die cut a scalloped circle in Riding Hood Red using my nestabilities.  The white circle is cut from my circle nestabilities, too.  I stamped the sentiment using the Kiwi Kiss ink pad also!  Pretty quic and easy card.  That ribbon is from the Ribbon Originals pack and the Hodpge Podge Hardware is a retired pewter color.  I got this card done before 10 am!  Can you believe that?  Plus its even Saturday!!

Ways to use stickers with stamping?

This was the Ways To Use It Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers yesterday.  Do you know how long its been since I have even looked at my sticker binder?  At least 8 years or more.  I found the dusty thing in a box of old scrapbooking stuff.  I am surprised my girls hadn't taken it by now because they have already taken all my zig painty pens and decorative scissors from this box. LOL

So here is my card that combines stamping with stickers:

I used a sheet of stickers from Me & My Big Ideas.  I must have really liked them because there are 3 sheets of the same stickers!?  For the button treatment, I used a Stampin' Up! clear button with a sticker on it and a circle of designer series paper attached to the back.  After tying the knot in my ribbon, I mounted the button onto dimensionals and attached it to the card.  Those little baubles are from my Stamping Royalty prize.  I used the Labels 2 & Classic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  The base of my 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card is Kraft cardstock.  I used Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette & Whisper White cardstock and the Tea Party Designer Series Paper.  The white satin ribbon is from Paper Trey Ink.  The stamp is from a Level 1 Hostess set called God's Beauty.  Its a beautiful set!

Black & White!

Here is my card for the sketch challenge this week.  When I started making this card I had something else in mind and it totally changed.  I started by wanting to use this cool ribbon I got the other day from my order with Eclectic Paperie and then everything started changing. LOL

Here is my card:

I used the Baroque Motifs stamp set for the medallion.  I stamped the image using Basic Black classic ink and carefully cut it out.  The I added those rhinestones at the end!  The sentiment is from another Stampin' Up! set called Good Friend.  This set will be available starting April 1 in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The silver frame and brads came from my Styled Silver Hodge Podge Hardware.  I cut out a large scalloped rectangle using Basic Gray cardstock and the next smaller scalloped rectangle using Basic Black cardstock.  The Whisper White panel is cut from the Classic Rectangles Nestabilities, too.  The strips of patterned paper are from Tinkering Ink - its a double-sided paper.  The ribbon that started it all is from Basic Grey - The Basic Black collection.
