Sweet Always Designer Paper!

Here is a card I made recently using the Sweet Always Designer Paper!  Can you tell its my favorite?

 

This is one of my all-time favorite color combo - Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie.  I stamped the top part using stamps from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set.  Matter of fact, I stamped an entire sheet of cardstock, so you might be seeing this again later!   The ribbon is a small bit I had from somewhere that just seemed to go perfectly with this project.

I love Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper.  It coordinates with all the Stampin' Up! exclusive colors, its double-sided and matches some of the stamp sets Stampin' Up! sells.  Like the Sweet Always paper coordinates with the stamp set Always.  Here is what all the sheets of the Sweet Always look like.

What's Up?....

What is going on with you?  Me?  I am busy getting ready for a crop this weekend plus there is a design call due Monday that I have been working on, too.   If you are signed up for the Crop for the Cure, let me know so I can have a cute little gift for you.  I don't have much to share right now, everything I have been making is either for the crop or for a magazine.  So here is what I do have:

This is one of my favorite color combos.  I just love the Sweet Always designer paper, too.  Just a sweet and easy card today.  Nothing fancy.  I think by stamping and cutting out the center of the flower stamp, it really makes it look special, don't you?

A true blue friend.......

  I finally got around to playing with my newest Stampin' Up! stuff.  The true blue friend stamp is a Level 1 Hostess set called Punches Three and matches the new scalloped square punch.  I had these colors on my desk and just was playing around.  I have been trying to use the Pretties kit but sometimes it seems a bit fancy and doesn't necessarily match my style but here that little pin works, doesn't it?  I put white dots with my gel pen on the stamped vine images but they kinda turned light blue, weird huh?

Simple Tart & Tangy

Today I want to share with you a simple card.  This card took about 10 minutes to make and only took 10 minutes cause my desk was messy and I had to move stuff around.  I needed a thank you card for a friend so I challenged myself to make a card that was EASY.  Sometimes, its easy to forget that an easy card is a good thing. LOL

The sentiment is from a retired stamp set, Monkey Business, but I think it works, don't you?  Pretty simple, but cute, right?

Supplies Used:  Tart & Tangy, Monkey Business Stamp sets; Real Red, Whisper White Cardstock & Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper; Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, handheld circle punch, red gingham ribbon; Real Red Ink pad and Marker, Old Olive marker.

I have had an overwhelming response to my box of cards.  I will not be sharing this tutorial on this part of my blog.  The tutorial will be for Stamper's Club and those that subscribe to my Exclusive blog (more info to come in the next week).

Wouldn't you like one of these?

This past Friday, I was invited to a retirement party for one of the sweetest people I know.  Since she is such a nice person and friend, I decided to make her something special.  Well, when I got done, I have to say it was hard to give this away.  I will just have to make myself one of these!

 

This cardbox is made entirely from cardstock.  I used Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White & Bella Rose cardstock.  It was quite easy to make just a bit time consuming, cause of the details!

This box will hold quite a few cards but I only made 9 to put inside.  I think my friend will really enjoy this plus there is extra room in the box for her own creations.  She is quite a talented paper crafter and watercolorist! 

Here are my cards.  I made 3 of each one plus envelopes.  The card in the back was a CASE of a card my stamping sister, Kim, showed me a couple of weeks ago. 

If you like this ensemble, wait until you see the one I have planned for Christmas cards.  I think it would make such a fun class!  What do you think? Trying something new....

   

Yes, a bought some Copic Markers.  My daughter, Caitlyn and I, played around with them last night and this is what we came up with.  I have to say that there is a very definite learning curve with the markers.  You can't think of them as markers, more like a brush filled with color.  Using a brush motion definitely gets a better look.  I didn't take art in school so its trial and error for me but I did purchase a Using Copic Markers DVD and it has some great tips on it.  You can't use Staz-on with this marker, so I bought a Palette Hybrid Noir Ink Pad but Stampin' Up! Whisper White works great!

How to make In-Color Markers.....

There are alot of products in the new 2008 Idea Book & Catalog using those great In-Colors, unfortunately, not markers!  I use markers alot to color on my stamps, color in an image, etc. So I decided to bite the bullet and make my own In-Color Markers this year.  I did not come up with this idea but I did want to show you how to do this - it's easy!

You will need a NEW package of Stampin' Up!'s blender pens and an ink refill for all the In-Colors.  Other optional things that can help later are:  a small scrap of each color cardstock and the 1/4" circle punch, mini glue dots.

Place drops of the ink refill on the tip of the blender pen until its not really absorbing it anymore.  You may have to do this more often since its a "marker" you made!  See my small punched cardstock circles?  I am going to put one on each end of the blender pen so I know what color is what!

Here is my completed Kiwi Kiss end of the blender pen.  I made sure it worked good by coloring it on scratch paper for a bit.  I will store these blender pens horizontally and I am sure I will use them alot. 

I usually purchase any ink pad with the refill so the only "extra" I spent was on my blender pens.  Its a good deal!

Celebrate Your Day

I was playing around with a sketch challenge over the weekend and I ended up so far off the sketch its kinda funny!  I really love the new In-Color Pink Pirouette.  Its so soft and a true pink - by far my favorite In-Color so far (even better than Groovy Guava).  What do you think?

The Demonstrator Only Forum on Splitcoast has some new challenges for this month.  The first is a color combo challenge using Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze & Sahara Sand.  It took me 2 tries but here is my card:

I think I have totally forgot how to tear cardstock, LOL!  My first try wasn't pretty and I had to go back and work with it.  I haven't done this tech. in a long time.
