A Peek Into My Stamping Room

Color Combo Tuesday!

Sorry I haven't posted much lately.  I have been really busy stamping other things right now.  So today the color combo challenge on Splitcoaststampers was Groovy Guava, Sahara Sand & Whisper White.  Now Sahara Sand is not a color I use very much.  But its not a bad color.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:  Fashion Statements (retired hostess set); Sahara Sand, Groovy Guava, Whisper White cardstock, Groovy Guava Designer Series Paper; Sahara Sand & Groovy Guava Classic Ink; Blender pen, Blossoms Punch, silver brads, white taffeta ribbon, Fruit Punch Stickles.

Yes, this stamp set is retired.  I got the set from my Stamping Sister, Kim, cause a customer of mine had told me she wanted it.  Guess what?  She found it at a garage sale.  Oh well, I am keeping it for myself for right now!  I used Fruit Punch Stickles on the wings after I colored in just a bit with a blender pen.  I haven't used stickles before and they are very cool cause I didn't make a glittery mess.  If you have never used Stickles before it is glitter and glue mixed together!  They come in different colors in small little bottles.  Kinda cool!  Well, hope you are staying cool and having a great day!

Here's a card I made.....

...a few days ago.  I used my new Gelatins Stamp set from my package.  The ribbon was my color inspiration.  Those little purple doodads are from Bella - called emBELLAshments.  Cute, huh?  The sentiment is from Rubbernecker.  I bought that sentiment and a few others when I went to the stamp show in Collinsville a few months back.  I used Stampin' Up!'s mini glue dots on the Grape Dew Drops.  Plus the Cardstock is Stampin' Up!'s Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery & Soft Sky plus Whisper White.  I used the new scalloped punch Stampin' Up! is offering the the new catalog (Aug. 11!) and a stylized silver brad from my stash.  Its a funky card, not my usual style but I think that's a good thing, don't you?

I have been feverishly stamping the past few days but I can't show anything to you just yet.  I will have things I can share in a few days. 

The girls have been in Branson with my parents since Wednesday and its been a good break.  I am just really sad that I won't be at convention with my Stamping Sisters next week but I will get over it.  I promise this is my last time to complain. LOL  Hope you have a great weekend! 

Wow, some exciting news!

There was an exciting announcement from Stampin' Up! yesterday.  Starting in the fall, you will be able to order products directly from my Stampin' Up! website!  Yep, online ordering!  How cool is that?  I am excited.  Once a firm date is announced, I will let you know.

Now I have had requests for pictures of the products in my special package.  So here they are!

I don't have very many unmounted stamps (obviously) so all the ones I do have fit in this Little Monkeys Storage System.  Its a very sturdy box and the unmounted stamps fit on sheets with protectors.  Then you can just page thru and see your sets very easily.  I will take some pictures of what it looks like full.

I got my first ever Bella stamp!  She is Cardabella!  Very cute and I made a card with her right away.  Caitlyn likes the Superwoman stamp from aMuse.  I don't have any aMuse stamps, either so its kinda cool.  I feel alittle weird getting this stuff cause its not Stampin' Up! and I am firmly a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  But I am going to have fun with it!  Here is my Bella Card.

I m still trying to use up all my Designer Series Paper, cause its all being retired!  The "I'd rather be Stamping!" is from aMuse.  I colored my Cardabella with my Stampin' Write markers.  I used shimmery white cardstock so she shimmers very nicely in real life.

Cool new ribbon!

I just got this ribbon on Monday and I couldn't wait to use it.  I love these colors together.  I think I am going to send this card to a friend of mine who just had surgery.  This could be a get-well soon card, don't you think?  Did you notice I used my new Scalloped Punch from Stampin' Up?  Yep, it punches in a line!  It's awesome and will be available in the New Fall Idea Book & Catalog!  I have other Sneak Peek stuff that I haven't even opened yet.  Keep watching as I will share a few more things every couple of days.  I even have the new In-Colors in the house!  They are GREAT!

Tuesday Sketch Challenge

Sorry, I haven't posted in a few days, but I just haven't been feeling the mojo, know what I mean?  Today's sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers was a really good one and it did motivate me to stamp.  I don't know if it was a great effort but I think I will settle for good!  See what you think.

I have been trying to use up all the retiring cardstock and designer series paper I have.  I don't think I am getting rid of my In-Color ink pads this year cause I really like these colors.

Don't you hate to see this set retire?  I got this set from Stampin' Up! as a Christmas present this past year and its a good one!  I really appreciated getting this set for free as I don't usually have workshops that make it to that level just for myself!!  Hope you have a great day!

Hoppy Birthday!

I forgot to post this birthday card!  Can you believe this stamp set is retiring?  I can't cause I love it so much.  I put a little Crystal Effects on the frog's eyes.  Caitlyn helped me decide what to do with the sentiment.  She picked out the ribbon, too.

Hope you had a good weekend.  I am really tired.  I went to the Muny last night to see My Fair Lady.  Good show but really long.  Didn't get home until almost 1 am.  Wow! I haven't stayed out that late in a LOOOONG time.  But it was alot of fun.

Birthday Stamp-a-Stack

Here are the other 3 cards we are making at the July 27 Birthday Card Stamp-a-Stack.

I just love this card, it is so sweet, LOL!  Even though you can't buy this set anymore I am using it for a cute card.  Technically, it could be used as a thank you note as well as a birthday card, don't you think? 

When making this card, you will learn how to create a template for the 4 circles!

This is such as easy card with a great color combo.  I think you could give this card to a guy or a girl, but it would probably depend on the guy.  This uses the retiring hostess set, For A Friend and Seeing Spots.  Plus it uses Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, which is on special right now for 25% off.  What a great deal!

This card uses the retiring stamp set, Eat Cake.  It is such a versatile set and I will be sorry to see it go.  I just love this designer paper.  It comes in the Simply Scrappin' Kit Summer Days.  This Scrappin' Kit will definitely retire, too, because it uses the In-Color Wild Wasabi.

Something Special is needed!

So next monday is my hubby's sister, Kathy's 50th birthday.  Now Kathy and I have a difficult relationship at best BUT she endeared herself to me on Keith's birthday.  If you read my blog regularly, you know we lost Keith's Mom Bette last August.  Well, this was his first birthday without her and at 9:00 am that morning, the phone rang.  It was Kathy wishing Keith a happy birthday.  She has never called him on his birthday before and I think it made Keith feel really good so good he said I had to make "Something Special" to send her.  I hate the pressure!!  Here it is:

I am using those scraps again.  I had half of a Carousel Note and a small piece of this Afternoon Tea DSP leftover.  The card is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and I only had one more envelope this size, too.  It seemed to fit the bill, cause he wrote something in it, sealed the envelope and asked me to address it to his sister.  Good thing she doesn't visit this blog, huh?  At least I don't think she does!!  If so, sorry I ruined your surprise.  Sorry, I posted twice in one day!  That is a record, eh?
