Fresh Cuts Sneek Peak!

It took me long enough but I finally ordered the sneak peek stamp set from Stampin' Up!  Here is my first sample using the stamp set with the great laser cut notes.  The hardest part of making this card is waiting for the white craft pad to dry.

Third times a charm?

I have tried 3 different times to post this picture but it keeps shutting down my internet.  What is up with that?

Oh well, I will try again.

This is what I made using scraps from my overflowing scrap box.  Even the stamp images were in there - well not the sentiment- but the daisy piece was from a One Sheet Wonder I must of did at one point.  Everything else was just in the box.  I put it together added the brads, sentiment and ribbon and it's a pretty good card.

I cleaned out that overflowing scrap box.  Wow, what a mess it was.  Now everything is organized by color families.  Hopefully this means I will use these up.  I am still recuperating from the party last night.  Colleen's Band friends are alot of fun and they are really great kids.  They ate alot and stayed a long time!  Mom can't keep up anymore!

Celebrate the Red, White & Blue

 I needed some invitation for our annual 4th of July party.  This was so easy to make and it was quick too.  What a picture, huh?  Looks like one of those annoying pieces from the Stampin' Dimensionals stuck to my card, how funny is that!  Oh well, you get the idea.  This stamp set, In The Stars, is in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  You can only order from that catalog for just a little bit longer.

Two Posts in One Day!

I wanted to show this to you!

The Summer Days Simply Scrappin' Kit  is so easy to use and makes a really quick double-page layout.  My family went to the old Busch Stadium to see the 2nd to the last game before they tore it down to finish the new Busch Stadium.  These colors, papers and embellishments went perfect with the theme of the day.

This kit comes with 8 sheets of textured cardstock, 6 sheets of double-sided Designer Paper and 3 sheets of self-adhesive die cuts.  I added the Simon Chipboard covered with Real Red Cardstock and the punched circles of whisper white & real red.  I stamped the word BASEBALL using Short Order Alphabet and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink Pad then using my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker I made the circle look like a baseball.  Sorry its hard to see.

 

The best thing is I have plenty of supplies left to make many more pages.  This scrappin' kit is only 1 of many Stampin' Up! offers.  Check them out!

Card Sketch Wednesday?

I really did this challenge on wednesday (okay 10 pm still counts) but I am going to post it today!  I have fun making two cards with this sketch.

I am really trying hard to use up all my bits of Designer Paper before the new Catalog from Stampin' Up! is released.  I am not sure if this Cutie Pie Designer Paper will be in the new catalog, hopefully it is but just in case I want to use it up!  I stamped the Thank U image twice - once in Cert. Celery and another time in Rose Red.  I cut out the little brackets (pain in rumpus) and glued them over the rose red ones.  My Certainly Celery marker has given up the ghost.  Considering how often I use the thing, I shouldn't be surprised!  If the marker would have worked I could have just used markers on the stamp and not had to worry about cutting.

 This card uses my all-time favorite Designer Paper.  Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper is only available for alittle more time.  I even bought an extra package so I will have "enough"!  I sound kinda creepy, don't I?  Oh well, this was pretty easy.  I just used my square punches and True Friend Stamp set.  I should have probably used the Groovy Guava ribbon but it wasn't close like the wasabi was.  I am kinda lazy sometimes.

Supplies Used:  True Friend stamp set; Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White cardstocks; Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi ink pads; Square SU punches, Key hole punch, corner punch, gold brads, Double-stitched wasabi ribbon, Rhinestone brad, paper piercer.

Color Challenge Tuesday!

Yesterday was the color challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  The challenge was to use Whisper White, Wild Wasabi & Taken With Teal.  Here are my results:

Not much stamping, huh?  I was trying to use up some scraps of carousel notes and rub-ons I had laying around.

Supplies Used:  Friendly Flowers Stamp Set (Occasions Mini), Anchored Rub-ons; Taken with Teal, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White Cardstock; Taken With Teal Classic Ink; Hodgepodge Hardware, Scalloped Punch, 1/16" hole punch.

This card is much cuter, don't you think?  I dusted off my Watercolor Pencils and blender pens for this one.  Can you believe this stamp set is on the Retired list?  My girls love this set and use it for almost every card they make, so I will have a hard time getting rid of it.

Supplies Used:  Unfrogettable stamp set; Taken with teal, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White cardstock; Black Staz-on ink pad; Watercolor Pencils, Blender pen, Gold brads, Key hole punch, Designer Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Corner Punch, 1/16" hole punch

Have you ever watercolored using reinkers?

That was the challenge today over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I had alot of fun making this card.  As you will see, I used all my favorites!

I did some masking on this card.  You remember how to do that, right?  I showed that technique awhile back.  So I stamped two flowers masking one and then I masked both of them to add the leaves.  This way, the leaves look like they are behind the flowers.  Do you see it?  Funny how that works, huh?  Then I stamped another flower and cut it out after I watercolored it.  I added that flower using Stampin' Dimensionals to give it that pop.

I used my aquapainter and reinkers on this.  I put a drop or two of Groovy Guava, Ruby Red and River Rock inside each ink pad.  I mixed together just a little guava and ruby red to make the complimentary color and I think it turned out really good.

Supplies Used:  Embrace Life Stamp set;  Groovy Guava, River Rock, Basic Brown, Ruby Red Ink pads and reinkers; Aquapainter; Shimmery White, Groovy Guava, River Rock cardstock & Ginger Blossom DSP; Double-stitched guava ribbon and gold brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.

I got the greatest phone call today.  I entered 6 cards into the Stamping Royalty Contest that Paper Craft Magazine was holding.  The nice lady from the magazine called and said - I WON!  Two of the cards I entered won and will be published in the November Paper Crafts Magazine.  I can't tell you how excited I am.  That was one goal I had this year to submit my creations to some magazine.  You know, the hardest part of the whole process for me is actually putting the envelope in the mailbox.  So when I get my prize box, I will show you what I get!  Can't wait to get to stamping some more!  Have a great day.

Try A Pullout Scrapbook!

This week at Splitcoast Stampers the project was a Pull-Out Scrapbook.  You can find the easy directions HERE.

Here is the front.  I just love the Tart & Tangy set from the Occassions Mini Catalog.  This is the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper from that same mini catalog.  Very nice color combos and its just really cute.

This is the inside view before you open the pull out scrapbook part.  I used some of the Die-Cut Blossoms from the Occasions Mini.  They are so easy to use and really come in handy.

This is the right side of my pull out scrapbook.  I used some more of those blossoms, pumpkin pie brads, scraps from the Summer Picnic DSP and Old Olive cardstock.

I think it will look great with pictures on it.
