Cracked Christmas

I have been playing around in my stamp room with the Cracked Glass Technique.  Here is what I came up with.  It looks much better in person.  Some customers of mine have been wanting to learn Cracked Glass for awhile now.  It makes such a mess that I have been hesitant but I think we will be fine.  It took me awhile to get this one just right and I will probably tweek it alittle as I won't be able to use that large scalloped punch at a workshop. 

Supplies Used:  Peaceful Wishes, Holidays & Wishes Stamp sets; Purely Pomegranite, Always Artichoke, Shimmery White Cardstock; Always Artichoke Classic Ink Pad; Rose Red Marker; Ticket Corner Punch, Large Scalloped Punch, Coluzzle, Double-stitched Purely Pomegranite Ribbon, Versamark, Glassy Glaze Embossing Powder, Heat Tool.

So remember how I said my Ott Lamp needed a new light bulb?  Well, the whole lamp is broken.  A friend of ours, who is very handy, is looking at it to see if it can be salvaged.  Otherwise, I am using the on-line coupon Brenda sent me (thanks Brenda!) and getting a new lamp.  Nothing is better than an Ott Lamp for true color when stamping in my basement.  I could use two lamps but don't want to spend that much on lamps.  I want to save my money for stamping stuff.  Tommorrow starts the great buy 3 get 1 free designer paper sale with Stampin' Up! and I am making my order first thing in the morning.   

Here are some tags I made yesterday with the Punch Pals stamp set.  Cute, huh?  What an easy set to make Christmas tags with.

I am doing a workshop in a few weeks where the emphasis is scrapbooking.  The hostess also thought making some tags would be a good way to introduce stamping to her scrapbooking friends, also.  I couldn't agree with her more.  So I sat down with my punches and started stamping!  It was fun to make these.  Some are harder than others but that Punch Pals stamp set is really cool!

Scrapbooking this afternoon!

Sorry its been awhile since I posted.  Lots of stuff going on, we are just a busy family.  I thought that once my youngest, Cassie, went to school that I would have more free time.  That is such a joke.  I am usually running here and there, driving someone somewhere, going with my dad to the clinic or helping my mom with something.  We won't even discuss my Father-in-law, who lives next door, that is driving me bananas!  I don't know how my Mother-In-Law stayed married to him almost 50 years.  I truly believe God has made her an angel after putting up with that man.  LOL  Oh well, on to the important stuff, right?

Here is a scrapbook page I made today for Colleen's yearbook picture. I have been teasing her about the picture.  Doesn't she look like she has been shaking her hair?  I have been calling her "Super Star"!  I just love this picture.  It is her actually smile, not that one where it looks like she is gritting her teeth.

Supplies Used:  Bold Alphabet, Jumbo Petals wheel, Polka Dots and Petals Stamp set;  Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Whisper White paper; Soft Sky & Groovy Guava Classic Ink; Corner punch, scalloped punch, circle punch and Stampin' Dimensionals (tm).

It didn't really show in the picture but I used the Petals Jumbo wheel with Soft Sky ink on the corners of the soft sky cardstock.  I am going to let Colleen journal on this so its her handwriting.

Here is a page header we made as a Make 'n Take at the last crop I participated in.  Everyone seemed to have lots of fun making it.

Just used the oval punches from Stampin' Up! to make the feathers for the turkey.  I free-hand cut the small triangle for the beak.  Now I have to see if I even took pictures last year for Thanksgiving.  Since I made the dinner and did all the work, I usually don't have the time for picture taking but I could be wrong.  This just reminds me that Thanksgiving is not that far off and then there is Christmas.  I bought a couple of gifts the other day.  Have you started Christmas shopping yet?  Talk to you soon.

Caitlyn's new journal!

This is a composition notebook I covered with Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper.  Don't you just love the colors?  Caitlyn sure did!!  She writes in her journal every night before bed and needed a new one - so this is what she got! 

Supplies Used:  Big Deal Alphabet; Purely Pomegranite, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery Classic Ink; Certainly Celery Craft Ink (on the dot inside the flower); On Board Chipboard; Flower Punch & Vintage brads, mini glue dots, glue stick and sanding block.

I am off to host the Light Weigh meeting tonight.  I am at a stand still on my weight loss.  I have lost 35 pounds now but haven't been able to really buckle down lately.  Have a great night!

The first high school dance!!

Colleen had her first high school dance this past Saturday night.  Everything came together so well and we didn't even fight over the dress.  She put it on and we both knew it was the "one"!  You know, the majority of dresses at the mall are very inappropriate for a 14 year old, so I thought both of us agreeing on the dress so quickly was quite GREAT!

What do you think?  Of course, I am very partial but I think she looked fantastic.

Colleen said she had a great time and that is all that matters.  So I am off to go shopping at Sam's!  Then on to the local butcher shop and home to do chores and such.  I have all day tommorrow planned to stamp and scrapbook so hopefully I will have stuff to share.

Clean the clutter......

Yuck!  I hate to clean but since I practically dismantled my stamp room because of the crop last week, I took the time to clean before I put everything back where it goes.  You see, I wasn't sure they would have tables for my displays so I took my stamping table.  That is the centerpiece of my whole room, you know.  But it made me clean so that was really good.  I have been asked to participate in another scrapbooking night and will let you know when/where it is.  Maybe you can join me!

No pictures to share, sorry.  I placed an order with Stampin' Up! on Monday and am not so patiently waiting for my stuff, thank you very much!  But I will force myself to use the supplies I have!!  LOL  Hope you have a great weekend.  This weekend is Homecoming and Colleen is in the Marching Band and going to the dance.  She doesn't have a date (not allowed, too young) but she looks very pretty in her dress.  She is very excited about the first "high school" dance she is going to.   I will post some pictures next week!
