Yes, I did stamp this week!

So I actually did stamp this week!  I bought myself a birthday present!  This stamp is called Simply Said.  I think this is such a dainty and pretty stamp set.  It is just my style and you will probably get tired of seeing it over the next couple of weeks.

This is a very pretty card.  I love the colors.  In fact, I love the colors so much, I bought an outfit for Easter with these colors in it!  How funny is that?  This card is from Lauri Rybarczyk.  Her blog is http://lKryb.blogspot.com.  Be sure to check it out!  Lauri used Bud Basics stamp set from this past Summer Mini Catalog.  I really like the background paper and ribbon she used, also.  I love this card.  Thanks Lauri!

More Bloggers RAKs

Here are a couple of really cute Blogger RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) that I have received over the past couple of weeks.  It is so much fun to go to the mail box and get mail!!  I love it!  Now I have only sent out 7 RAKs to others on the list, so I better get busy, right?

This card is by Julie Phillips over at www.paperjoy.typepad.com.  Isn't it cute?  I love it all.  The main image is by Whipper Snapper, the tweet tweet was made with Karen Foster Snap Stamps and she used the Cuttlebug embossing folder on the marigold piece.  Its hard to see in my picture but she stamped the French Script backgroun in Cool Caribbean.  Now, I am a Stampin' Up! snob and proud of it, but I really love that cute little bird!

This cool card is by Terri Thill at www.territweety.typepad.com.  She used Happy Harmony Stamp Set from the Sell-a-bration special a month ago!  Isn't it cool?  Terri also used a clip from her Hodgepodge Hardware kit.  Thank you Terri for such a nice card.  I am not sure how she got that really cute plaid background so I will have to email her and ask!

Well, I didn't get to stamp too much today.  I got kicked out of my stamp room.  Keith is currently making me a Birthday card.  I love it when he takes the time to stamp for me but I hate the mess he makes.  I will post pictures of his creation when I get it!!  Talk to you later!

Another Bloggers RAK!

I had never thought about using the double-sided designer paper in this way!  Thanks so much for the great idea, Simone.  I have some other RAKs to share with you tommorrow.  I have been cleaning up after having all hubby's family over yesterday plus as always, laundry must be done daily.  Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!

Here is something I made while doing laundry today.  I totally got the idea from this card by robin rouch over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Supplies Used:  Doodle This, Doodle That and Warm Words Stamp sets; Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery Cardstock and Markers; Jet Black Stazon Ink pad; Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' paper.

This is called a Shadow Box Card.  The design and instructions are by my Blogger friend, Dawn.  Here is a link the her awesome tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers.  Dawn's instructions were really good and Robin's card sparked my interest to make her design into a Shadow Box card.  I think it turned out well.  I am taking it to my Mom-in-Law tonight at the hospital.  Bette (MIL) is not doing well.  She is fighting really hard but slowly losing the battle.  Please pray for her, she really needs it.

Splitcoaststampers VSN Night

Here is my card for Emboss Resist Technique

Supplies Used:  Doodle That Stamp Set & Petals Jumbo Wheel; Whisper White, Cool Caribbean & Pretty in Pink Cardstock; Stazon Jet Black ink, Pretty in Pink; Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery Markers; White Signo Gel Pen; Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, Coluzzle Circle Cutting System; Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is the Emboss Resist Tech.  If you would like to try this technique just click HERE for the tutorial!  I ran my Petals Jumbo wheel over my VersaMark ink pad - to me this works better than trying to get the cartridge full of Versamark.  The I  rolled the petals wheel over my whisper white cardstock, applied White embossing powder and heat set.  Then I inked up my Brayer with Pretty in Pink and rolled it over the embossing.  The embossing images resist the ink thus Embossing Resist!!  The Scalloped Circle is highlighted with my White Signo Gel pen.  I masked my flowers to get this look - I will make up a tutorial for masking next week!  Not a bad effort for just 45 minutes.  That is all the time you have to complete your challenge.  Fun!  I will post somemore of my efforts later this weekend!  Enjoy!

My Stamp Room

Here is my stamp room.  It is just kinda clean right now, but could be alot cleaner.  I had a stamp club meeting this past Sunday and we all had fun stamping at my old table.  I do need a bigger table, though.  I love my space but am embarrassed to say I could use more!  Keith gets upset when I tell him I don't have enough room so I quit telling him that.

I will post more detailed pictures next week.  Right now, I am busy getting ready for a family get-together at my house on Sunday.  I am doing the cooking and they are just showing up.  But it will be fun.

I would like to know what everyone does with their scrap paper.  I have it all in small bins grouped in color families right now, but need something different.  Got any suggestions?  I am getting really close to 30,000 hits so I feel a contest coming on!!  Get to commenting!

More RAKS

Here are a couple more Blogger Raks I have received.  I still have a few more to show you so stay tuned!

This card came from FAR away!  Calgary Alberta!! This card was made by Nancy Elrick, her blog is www.nancyscreativemess.blogspot.com.  I love the color combo and the use of the Cuttlebug plus scalloped punches.  Nancy used her White Signo Gel Pen to make dots on the flower.  Unfortunately the very top layer of the flower got damaged because the envelope got ripped (but we are ignoring that).  This is such a great card but I will not give in to the temptation in getting a Cuttlebug!! (Hopefully!)

This card is from Julie Purdum at www.myrubberroom.blogspot.com.  Isn't it cute?  I have this set, Unfrogettable, but I haven't used it very much.  I really need to get it out and use the set, don't it.  Julie used Cameo Coral, Spring Flowers Designer Paper, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip Cardstock,  Basic Brown Classic Ink pad and she watercolored with something.  I don't want to guess what she used to watercolor with because it could be all kinds of stuff but she sure did a great job.    Thank you Julie for my great birthday card!

Yep, next week is my birthday and its a big one for me.  I turn 39 and I am not looking forward to it.  I really don't want to even have a birthday.  I let the kids make plans for that night so I have an excuse not to go out to dinner or make a big deal about it.  Hopefully it will work.  Besides, since I don't plan to get any older I will have next year to celebrate my 39th birthday, right?  LOL 

Bloggers RAK!

I joined a Bloggers RAK group over at Splitcoaststampers.  RAK mean Random Acts of Kindness.  In other words, you send a cute card to another person just because you want too.  Isn't that cool!  It is fun to send them but its even better to receive them!!  LOL

I am posting just a couple of RAKs today and will keep posting some everyday until I run out.  Enjoy!

This card is from Asela Hopkins.  Her blog is www.hopartstudios.typepad.com.  Asela is a really wonderful stamper.  Her style is very unique and I just love it.  This stamp really cracks me up.  It reminds me of shopping all day with my mom!  Wish I was that skinny!! LOL

Notice how Asela watercolored in a brownish spot around the girl's boots.  That wash of color anchors the girl, making her look like she is standing on a floor rather than just stamped on the paper.  That is a detail that really makes a great card!  Did you notice that Asela used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to get a textured look on the background?  It looks very nice and adds another dimension to this card.  Thank you very much Asela for my great Birthday card. 

This card is from Susan Liles.  Her blog address is www.susiestampalot.blogspot.com.  This is a stamp set from the Winter Mini Catalog.  I really liked this set but have been trying not to spend my earnings.  I am supposed to be making money at this, so I can't buy every stamp set!  DARN!!

Susan used the Paisley & Petals Paper from the Spring Mini Catalog, too.  The designer paper is double-sided, so you can get lots of looks from it.  Also, Susan used a Giga Scalloped Oval punch and the Coluzzle oval cutter to make those great ovals.  I think this card is so cute that I have to case it!  Want to see my version?

Here is my version of Susan's card.  I actually used my scalloped punch.  It has been sitting in the draw since before Christmas and I really haven't touched it.  The colors in these two cards are from the Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.

Stamp Camp & Other stuff

On Friday night, my DSL worked fine but on Saturday morning - no DSL!!  AHHHHHHHHHH!  Not being able to get on the computer gives me a really bad feeling.  I need to break my addiction but don't know how.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Here are a couple of the projects we did at my Stamp Club on Sunday afternoon.

This is the Triangle Trifold card featured on Splitcoast Stampers this past week.  I didn't really changed Beate's sample (cased the whole thing!)  but I did add a piece of 5" x 5" Old Olive for a background piece.  This makes it fit nicely in a square envelope!!

Next we made a cute 6 x 6 scrapbook page.  It would look even cuter if it had a picture on it.  I am too lazy to find one but I will plus I will convert it to a 12 x 12 (hopefully) soon.

Maybe I will even put my picture on this page for my kids.  I need to make them a scrapbook that is all about me!
