Cascading Valentine's Card!

Since today is Monday, I checked out the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoaststampers again.  It is a great new technique called a TLC362 Cascading card!  Love it!  I had so much fun making this card.  I used a new stamp set from Unity that I got as a Christmas present called We Treasure You.  I am a member of the Unity Kit of The Month club and I know I haven't used many of their stamps here....I do love them.  Here is my cascading card.

 

I used lots of bling from Want2Scrap.  I also used 12 x 12 Really Red Smooth Cardstock for  the base of this card.  This cardstock happens to be on sale this week at Discount Cardstock.  You should check it out!!  I tucked a couple of S5-025 Labels Seventeen from Spellbinders in the middle spaces and on the back of the card.  I also used the E8-002 Classic Bracket Edgeabilities along the front bottom of the card.  I punched out the sentiments.  I thought this was a fantastic fancy fold card!  Don't you? 

 

Altered Clipboard for Want2Scrap™!

Hello everyone and hope you are having a great weekend!  Today I have my final Want2Scrap™ Guest Designer project for you.  I had so much fun altering this clipboard I found at the $Dollar Store.  I am going to give it to my daughter to use outside her dorm room for messages and such.

The first thing I did was to sponge the edges of the clipboard using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  Then using Matte Gel Medium (Liquitex), I applied a piece of patterned paper.  Don't you just love the music notes?  I know my daughter, the college music major, will love this!   I covered Want2Scrap™ Lattice Rectangle Nestaboard™ (the largest one in the set) with Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and sponged with the Seedless Preserves Distress ink.  Then I added the Want2Scrap™ Nestabling™ Lattice Rectangle Eggplant Pearl.  Don't be afraid of these detailed pearls because they are a breeze to attach to your project!  I did the same steps for the next layer of Nestaboard and added the Layered Butterflies tied together with twine and a heart charm.

Here are a couple more close-ups of the rose I made for this clipboard.  I used the S5-050 Rose Creations dies (Spellbinders™ Paper Arts) designed by Donna Salazar.  Matter of fact, these roses where made in the "Donna" style!   All the patterned paper is from the Donna Salazar Antiquities Collection.

Thanks For Everything!

Today I have a card to share with you.  I used some new to me Gina K. Designs Stamps and some more of Want2Scrap™ products, too!  Here is my 4" x 9" card.

To make this size card, you will need to cut your card to 8" x 9" and fold at 4".  This card will fit into a regular business size envelope.  Of course, this card has some thicker embellishments so I will probably stick it into a padded envelope so it gets where its going without any damage.

To start, I stamped the front using Antique Linen distress ink and a damask image from the Gina K. Designs stamp set called Springtime Silhouettes.  I love this set it has all kinds of wonderful sentiments and images!

Here is a close-up of the sentiment panel.

The patterned paper is from Iron Orchid Designs.  I cut/embossed using Labels 5.  I layered everything together and added the matching Nestabling- Labels Five White Pearl from Want2Scrap™.  I made some little rolled roses and added some leaves from the Foliage dies (Spellbinders). 

This is card that conveys to me that the person you are sending it too is really special, don't you think?  Talk to you soon and have a great weekend!

Gratitude to A Special Friend

The other day I was having a super bad day....I mean really bad....that kind of day that makes you cry at the drop of the hat.  But something happened that made my whole day turn around.  About dinner time the doorbell rang.  At my door was a special lady from my church who helps with funeral luncheons.  You see, she had made a wonderful looking carrot cake at our last funeral luncheon and I didn't get a piece....so you know what she did?  She made me a carrot cake and happened to bring it to me THAT day....the day that I was having such a bad day.  I cried again but I also smiled and couldn't stop.  So I made this card for my special friend to show my gratitude to her for making me feel special.  What do you think?

 

I think the sentiment says it all, don't you agree?  I know that while I was having the bad day, I had asked God to help lead me down the right path.  I truly believe that God works miracles everyday even if its only a special friend bringing you cake!

October Already?

Wow, September went by really fast, didn't it?  Today is the first day of October and I have some fun news to share.  This month, I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Want2Scrap!! Check out the Want2Scrap blog today for the announcement!

Here is a project I made using 72 Count Silver Rhinestones Self Adhesive and Discount Cardstock papers.

 

Remember that you can click on the picture to get a better look at my Halloween Accordian Tag Book.  For the base of my tag, I used Soot cardstock #80.  I cut the cardstock to 5 1/2" x 10" and scored it every 2 1/2".  Then I folded it and cut the corners to get the tag look.  Then I cut Mandarin Cascata Felt cardstock to fit each "tag".  I added some pieces of black cardstock to the 2 middle panels to create pockets.  Here is some close-ups of the Accordian Tag Book.

I created the paper rosette using 2 Scalloped Circle die cuts and a Scor-Pal.  What do you think of the bling from Want2Scrap?  The sentiments were computer generated and I used a free font from dafont.com.  The stamp set is from Hero Arts.  I am pretty sure its retired but just in case, its called Happy Owl-Oween.

I am going to give the Halloween Accordian Tag Booklet to a friend.  I thought she could put her little boys' pictures on the 2 middle panels and set it on her desk at work.  What do you think?

The project I would like to share with you today is a scrapbook page I created using some Iron Orchid Designs patterned paper, cardstock from Discount Cardstock , Want2Scrap Nestabling and stamps/dies from Heartfelt Creations.

 
To start my page, I stamped Leafy Swirls PreCut set using Antique Linen distress ink in the corners of a 12 x 12" piece of Kraft cardstock.  On a piece of Posh Black Linen 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock, I adhered a piece of Posh Red Linen cut/embossed using Grand Labels 4 (die #6 in the set - remember #1 is the smallest).  I cut a piece of my patterned paper to mat onto the black cardstock and added the strip of black/white diamond paper.  I used a scalloped edge punch for that detail.  I matted my photo onto the black cardstock and adhere it into place.  I cut/embossed a Lacey Oval die template out of black cardstock and adhered the matching Want2Scrap Nestabling Rhinestones. I added my computer generated journaling that says:  Caitlyn Your bright smiling face is so beautiful!  Never stop believing in yourself and always keep smiling!  To make the flower, I used the Posy Patch Flowers PreCut Set and matching Posy Patch dies out of Posh Red Linen cardstock.  The leaves were cut from some Spring Willow Medium Prismatic cardstock and Foilage Shapeabilities Dies.

You can see in this up close shot that I stamped the Posy Patch flowers using Versamark and embossed them using Clear Embossing powder.  I added a clear rhinestone in the middle to go with the Nestabling around the Lacey Oval. 

I think my page turned out great and I can't wait to give it to my daughter.  I am a proud and lucky mom to have such a girl who is beautiful inside and out!  She hates it when I show her off but I think she will forgive me this time since the page came out so good!   Now it's time to hop on to the next blog - Selma's Stamping Corner - to see the next great project!  Be sure to comment for your chance to win some Heartfelt Creations Stamps!  Good luck and enjoy!
