The Day After........

Well, it's the day after Christmas and for me, it's a day to relax and rest.  A day to just continue to enjoy the family and catch up on sleep by taking a nap, eating any leftovers and make a few projects just for fun.  I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas full of the love of family and the celebration of the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.  We had quite a wonderful Christmas here in the Seyer household. 

Here is a card I made a few weeks ago for a publication but it didn't get any love.....but I think its one of my favorites!  LOL

 

I used a new die set from Spellbinders called (S5-068) Decorative Dress Form.  This was a set that was part of a new release from Crafters Home.  I found the set of dies at my local scrapbook store, For Keeps Sake.  I love the set....so girly!!  I inked all the edges of everything on this card using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Springtime Silhouettes stamp set from Gina K. designs.  I added a 4" Wilton doily, seam binding ribbon and alittle bit of tulle ribbon to complete this card.  My card base is Kraft cardstock from Discount Cardstock

Thanks For Everything!

Today I have a card to share with you.  I used some new to me Gina K. Designs Stamps and some more of Want2Scrap™ products, too!  Here is my 4" x 9" card.

To make this size card, you will need to cut your card to 8" x 9" and fold at 4".  This card will fit into a regular business size envelope.  Of course, this card has some thicker embellishments so I will probably stick it into a padded envelope so it gets where its going without any damage.

To start, I stamped the front using Antique Linen distress ink and a damask image from the Gina K. Designs stamp set called Springtime Silhouettes.  I love this set it has all kinds of wonderful sentiments and images!

Here is a close-up of the sentiment panel.

The patterned paper is from Iron Orchid Designs.  I cut/embossed using Labels 5.  I layered everything together and added the matching Nestabling- Labels Five White Pearl from Want2Scrap™.  I made some little rolled roses and added some leaves from the Foliage dies (Spellbinders). 

This is card that conveys to me that the person you are sending it too is really special, don't you think?  Talk to you soon and have a great weekend!

Happily Ever After!

Hello!  This week, Discount Cardstock, has a great sale!  The Posh Ivory Linen Cardstock is so wonderful to work with.  It's sturdy enough for a card base but works great for layers, too!

Here is my card using Posh Ivory Linen Cardstock.

This card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" square.  I stamped the heart image from Hopeful Hearts stamp set (Gina K. Designs) using Versamark ink and embossed it using clear embossing powder.  Then I added the small pearl stickers.  I used a Martha Stewart edge punch above and below the images.  The sentiment is from Fanciful Tag (Gina K. Designs) and stamped using Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  I added some May Arts ivory ribbon to complete.  It's a quick, easy and elegant wedding card, don't you think?

Happy Birthday, Colleen!

Today is my oldest daughter, Colleen's 18th birthday.  I can't believe how fast time flies.  It seems like just yesterday that she loved Barney, going places with her daddy and playing tea party.  Now she is graduating from high school and in the fall will go away to college.

To celebrate the occasion, I made a super girly card just for my baby!

 
The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee - 6x6 Sweetness pack.  The sentiment is from a Gina K. Designs set called Floral Wreath.  I added the doily and made some rolled roses and its all done!  I sure hope she will like it!

It's A Heat Wave!

Yesterday the weather was wonderful.  In Missouri, unpredictable weather is the only constant but I gotta say a special thanks to Mother Nature!  It was a blissful 70 degrees!  I sat out in the sun for almost an hour soaking up some much needed Vitamin D!  It was awesome!

The sunshine must have given me an extra boost because I came inside and made a couple of cards with some new stamps I got a couple of weeks ago from Gina K. Designs.

For this card, I used Kraft cardstock as the base and I used a corner rounder on the bottom.  This is the Lovely Labels 2 Stamp set from Gina K. Designs.  It matches Labels 17 Nestabilities.  I stamped the images onto Iced Pink Prismatic cardstock using Regal Rose classic ink.  The darker cardstock is Berry Sorbet from PTI.  I stamped the sentiment onto some Simply Smooth White cardstock and cut/embossed using Classic Circles Nestabilities.  I stamped the little flourishes using Rich Cocoa memento ink.  I tied some Snug Hug Seam Binding around the base and tied a knot then added a Berry Sorbet button.

This stamp set is called Smile from Gina K. designs.  It was the free stamp set this last month.  Super fun set!  I made some rolled flowers out of the same patterned paper -6x6 Restoration Pad from Crate.  If you don't know how to make rolled flowers, you can find a good tutorial on Splitcoaststampers HERE.

See what I mean about the sunshine really giving me a creative boost?  I love it when I sit down to create and it all comes together!  Hope you have a great day!

Monday!  Yeah!  I don't usually feel excited for Monday but since my girls were off school all of last week, getting back into the routine makes me want to do a happy dance!  wink!!  So here is a fun card for today!

I think I have an obession with those rolled roses!  They are so fun to make and they look so cute on your projects.  The best part is to make the roses, it doesn't require any special equipment.  Just some paper, scissors and adhesive.  You can find a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers HERE.  For this project, I used more supplies from the February Posh Paper kit.

The base of my card is Baby Pink Medium Prismatic cardstock.  I layered a scrap of patterned paper onto some Frosted Kiwi Prismatic and tied some lime dotted ribbon around the bottom before I attached it to the card base.  After I made my Rolled Roses out of Baby Pink Medium Prismatic cardstock, I attached a few leaves that I cut/embossed using the On the Vine Borderabilities and layered that onto one of the chipboard flowers that come in the February Posh Paper Kit.  I painted the chipboard flower white with some acrylic paint.

I love this card!  I think its cute and fun!  What do you think?

Posh Paper Kit for January!

Well, I am a day late with this post.  Sorry.  We have had the stomach flu in the house since Christmas Eve.  While Christmas was great, it would have been even better without the stomach bug.  Oh well, I did find lots of time to create, create, create with the January Posh Paper Kit from www.discountcardstock.com.   I love the traditonal colors for Valentines!  Here is what you get in your kit!

 Here are just a few of the projects I made so far!

All supplies used in making this card come in the January Posh Paper kit.  I used Bazzill Phoenix Red Dotted Swiss cardstock for the base of my card.  The dots are already embossed into the cardstock for you and its a dream to work with!  I stamped the images from Bo Bunny Crazy Love stamp set that is included in this month's kit.   I cut/embossed the Soot & white layer using Labels 17.  On the white layer I stamped my images using black and red dye ink and layered them together.  I tied the ribbon (also in the kit) in a knot and added a Raven Bazzill Paper flower.  I stamped the flower image and cut/embossed it using a Classic Circle Nestabilities.  I layered all this onto the Phoenix red base and added the Rhinestone bling in the center of the flowers.  The bling comes in the kit, also!

Here is another card I made using the January Posh Paper Kit.

For this card, I made a scalloped rosette from 2 Scalloped Circle Nestabilities that I scored on my Scor-Pal and adhered together.  I covered the heart chipboard piece with white cardstock and added the rhinestone bling.  There are only a couple of things that didn't come from the kit.  One was the Love Heart.  That is from the Happy Hearts Stamp set from Gina K. Designs.  The other is the patterned paper.  That is from Bo Bunny Crazy Love 6x6 paper pad.

Creating with the December Posh Paper Kit

A couple of days ago, I decided to sit down and see how many cards I could create using my December Posh Paper Kit from www.discountcardstock.  I had alot of fun making some clean and simple cards plus the biggest bonus of the whole cardmaking session was I created 9 cards in about 2 hours.  I haven't done that in so long!  It was wonderful!

If you don't remember here is what comes with the December Posh Paper Kit.

So for the sentiment for my cards, I concentrated on the Bo Bunny Winter Joy Rub-ons.  There are some really cute winter sentiments but there are just as many everyday sentiments to use, too!  Here are my cards! 

For these 5 cards, I used the everyday sentiments from the Bo Bunny Winter Joy Rub-Ons.  I love these colors together!

Here are 3 cards I made using the Christmas themed sentiment from the Bo Bunny Winter Joy Rub-ons.  I also used my Snowflakes Borderabilities Petites (seasonal die release from Spellbinders in 2009).

I have one more card to show you.  Remember, I said I made 9 cards!

For this card, I used my new stamp set, Block Greetings, from Gina K Designs.  This is a wonderful stamp set illustrated by Tami Mayberry.  I just love how it coordinates with Spellbinders Square Nestabilities.  I used the last bit of ribbon and gems from the kit.  I think it turned out great!  Love the color combo!

Joy Ornaments!

Hello!  Hope your week is going well.  I almost got all my shopping finished, the house is almost decorated and the baking is almost finished.  Do you see a trend here?  LOL  But I do have a completed project to show you using the December Posh Paper Kit from Discount Cardstock.

For the word "Joy", I covered some sturdy cardstock with the adhesives sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L so that the sticky would be on the front, die cut them using the Join in the Cheer Decorative strip die(Stampin'  Up!) and then dipped them into the glitter.  Makes less of a mess - sorta!  LOL.  I cut/embossed the base using Labels Four Nestabilities out of  Violet Sorbet, Intense Teal Prismatic and Prussian Blue cardstock from the kit.  The stamp I used is from Lovely Labels (Gina K. Designs).  The buttons are from the December Posh Paper Kit and the twine is some leftover from the November Posh Paper Kit.  The cool string hangers is a ribbon from the December kit, too.  I love the variagated colors of this string/ribbon.  These are simple to make, too!

This is for you, Kim!

I am scheduling this post for Thursday because I am on my way to the CHA Supershow!  I will be helping out in the Flower Soft booth at the Supershow.  I will be with my good friends, the Stamping Sisters, for this trip.  I am excited because we haven't done anything in a couple of years.  We will be missing one of our sisters, Kim, who couldn't come because of VBS at her church.  We will miss you, Kim.  We will try not to laugh too much.   This card is for you!

I remember the night we all went to dinner while in Salt Lake City and Shelly had a yellow highlighter like it was yesterday.   That was the night that really bonded our special friendship!  Plus I ate a meatball as big as my head and have a picture to prove it!  LOL  It doesn't matter how long we are apart, we just pick up where we left off the next time we see one another.  Now that is true friendship.  By the shores of gitchy goomy..........

Well, back to the card!  LOL

 

 I used some really great patterned paper from The Girls' Paperie called Paper Girl.  The sentiment is from Lovely Labels (Gina K. Designs) and those pearl pins are corsage pins I got at Wal-Mart!  The lace is some from my stash and the white twine is from Papertrey Ink.  The base of this card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" and made from Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink).  The scalloped piece was punched using an EK Success edger punch.  Everything has been sponged using Old Paper Distress Ink.

This was a fun card to make.  Not my usual style but I like it, don't you?  So when I get back, I will have lots to share with you!  Plus I get to have dinner with ALL my Stamping Sisters and I can't wait!
