Join Me for Pretty Packaging Class!

Here are the projects we will be making during my next class at For Keeps Sake on December 17 at 10:30 am-12:00pm. We will make 5 different projects using Spellbinders Grand Templates - Hexagon Petal Envelope, Hexagon Pinwheel Top Box and Grand Labels 11 Nestabilities plus a gift card holder using 2011 Heirloom Ornament set.  It will be tons of fun and I hope you can join me.  Just call For Keeps Sake to reserve your spot!

If you live too far away to join me for this class but would like to make these projects, please email me at debbiemom23cs@hotmail.com for info about a Class To Go Option.  I will have the projects all cut/embossed plus instructions for making each one for $25 plus shipping/handling.  They will be shipping on December 16 so you will have time to make them for Christmas!

Join Me For A Class....

on November 5 at 10:30 am at For Keeps Sake in South County, MO.  We will be making 5 Christmas Tags using some really great Spellbinders Paper Arts die templates.  Here are the tags!  Click this link for all the particulars.

  
You can bring your own die cutting machine or you can use my Grand Calibur machine.  There will be 2 die cutting stations for this class.  As you can see you will be using some new releases from Spellbinders...like....the 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, Spiral Blossoms 2, Nested Lacey Pennants and Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  Plus I will show you how to make a rosette using Classic Scalloped Circles.  It will be a fun class full of great technqiues!  Make sure to call For Keeps Sake to get a space in this class...its filling up fast!

Let's Make An ARTSY Banner!

My next class at For Keeps Sake Scrapbook Store will be on Saturday, July 16 at 10:30-12:30pm.  I will be showing you how to make the Artsy Banner I showed you a few days ago.  The banner uses great papers from Donna Salazar plus the Nested Lacey Pennants, Lacey Ovals and Blossom Three die templates from Spellbinders Paper Arts.  Here are a few pictures of the Artsy Banner!

 
Here is a close-up.  The papers from Donna Salazar's Antiquities line has some shapes that are compatible with Spellbinders die templates.  This will be a fun class where we will get inky and misty plus more die cutting using our favorite Spellbinder's die templates!  Hope you will join me!

 

 

Have You Taken A Crafty Class Lately?

Well, its been a long time since I was the student in a class.  Last Saturday, after teaching my Spellbinders Flowers Class at For Keeps Sake Scrapbook Store, I decided to stick around and take the next class.  The teacher for this class was Tammy Tutterow.  Wow, was it a great class!  Full of great products from Pink Paislee with some new stuff I had never used before.  I made the whole project during the class without any major screw-ups.  It was so much fun!  Plus I am hoping that by taking a class that uses new products and new techniques will help me out of this creative slump I am in!

Here is what I made!

 

 This is an 8 x 10" canvas.  We used Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi Medium.  In the past, I have always used Modge Podge.  Well I have to say that the Multi Medium worked much better, dried faster and didn't buckle or bubble my paper.  I will be getting some ASAP!!

As you can tell, I had a great time learning to make this wonderful canvas.  I have it hanging up in my crafty room.  It just makes me smile when I see it!!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Sorry About That!

So sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  I have been pretty sick with pneumonia and have been taking it easy.  I have been on a forced break from creating and its kinda been nice.  But now I have to get back to the grind stone ;).   I haven't posted the projects for my next class at For Keeps Sake on May 28 @ 10:30 - 12 pm.

The class is called Spellbinders Flower Power.  We will make some different kinds of flowers using different Spellbinders die templates.  Here are the projects!

 

Tissue paper flowers using the Blossom die plus Parisian Motifs!

 
 Wedding tag using flowers made from the Rose Creation Dies and lots of misting!!

 

 
 Make a cardstock flower using Blossom 3 die templates!

Our Craft Lounge!

Today I am blogging on the Our Craft Lounge blog.  My theme is all about Mother's Day.  I challenged myself to take one stamp set and make 4-5 different projects in different styles.  It took me a few days to finish and it was really a challenge but I had so much fun!

Here is one of my projects!

 I was going for the simple yet elegant look and I actually think I did it!  Do you see the pretty pearl bling on the Labels 5 sentiment panel?  It's called Nestabling!   My LSS - For Keeps Sake - just got a bunch in and its awesome!  It's bling (clear or black rhinestones or pearls) in shapes that correspond with Nestabilities!

Our Craft Lounge Guest Designer!

Starting April 1, I am officially a guest designer for Our Craft Lounge for the months of April and May.  I got some super cute stamps to play with a couple of weeks ago and have been anxious to get started!  I hope you will check out all the great stamps - clear & rubber- that Our Craft Lounge has to offer.  I made a project for today that I absolutely love!  It's not my usual style but I am so happy how it turned out!  What do you think?

I turned an ordinary brown lunch sack into a cute card portfolio.  My first step was to fold the bottom of the bag 3/4 of the way up and sewed along the three sides to form a front pocket and back pocket.  There are 2 cards in the front pocket and 2 envelopes in the back pocket.  The lace, crochet flowers, netting and buttons all came from my Mother-in-Law's stash of goodies that I received after she died.  One of the stamp sets that I picked from Our Craft Lounge is very vintage called Vintage Roses.  I thought this stamp set would go perfectly with the 8x8 Graphic45 papers - Once Upon A Springtime.

I am working on a tutorial for this project right now but had to set it aside because I am making some samples for the demo I am doing at the Girlfriend's Weekend Scrapbook Retreat given by For Keeps Sake (local scrapbook store).  Saturday morning I will be showing how to use the Grand Caliber and Spellbinders Die Templates.  My order from Spellbinders came this past Monday and I have been having so much fun playing with the new release dies!!

March 1st, Really?

Can you believe it's March already?  I know I can't.....time is going by so quickly.  I am really ready for spring.  I can't wait for the beautiful flowers, green grass and trees, aren't you?  To get you in a Spring mood here is a card I made using some beautiful Sunflower #80 cardstock that is on sale over at Discount Cardstock this week.

For this card, I used a SRM Sticker for the sentiment.  The border along the bottom is from using the Fair Isle Borderabilities die on Brilliant White #110 Cardstock.  The flower is made using Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch dies and the Sunflower cardstock.  After I cut/embossed the flowers, I layered them together and using a quilling tool, I rolled the flower petals.  I added the little leaves and the rhinestone sticker to the middle to complete the flower. 

I am excited to announce I will be teaching at my local scrapbook store, For Keeps Sake, starting in April.  I will be teaching a Spellbinders 101 class. It would be wonderful for you to join me and bring YOUR manual die cutting machine to the class so you can learn how to use your Spellbinders die templates in your machine!  It will be so much fun!  You can see what we are making and the dates for the class on the For Keeps Sake Website.  Hope to see ya there!
