Are You Ready for Valentine's Day?

You know what the next big holiday is?  It's Valentine's Day!  I love making projects for this special day.  The colors are so easy to pick and everything is about love. of chocolate   ;)

Here is a quick Genie Bag I made using a regular brown lunch bag and some of my favorite Spellbinder Paper Arts™ dies and papers from Discount Cardstock .

I used LF-246 Grand Nestabilities Labels Eleven to cover the front of my lunch bag.  After cutting/embossing 2 from Really Red Smooth Cardstock, I attached them to the front and back of the lunch bag.  I made sure that I cut off the bottom scallop (before adhering to bag) so it would sit flat.  Then I trimmed the lunch bag along the top following the die cut scallops.  I just used some Scor-Tape to adhere these into place. 

To make the pennant sentiment, cut/emboss 6 pennants from S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants.  This is really easy if you have a typewriter.......yes.....a typewriter....then you can just type each pennant with the letter.  Otherwise, print out the sentiment onto some Simply Smooth White cardstock and cut/emboss each letter.  Attach some red twine to each side and adhere each letter into place using 3d foam squares.

Make the rosette from New Piggy Pink Cardstock 70# by cut/embossing 2 S4-293 Lacey Circles #4.  Using a Scor-Pal, score at each scallop, mountain and valley fold both circles,  then adhere together to form a full circle.  I added a S4-293 Lacey Circle #2 in Simply Smooth White cardstock plus a S4-296 Nested Hearts #1 in Really Red Smooth Cardstock.  I added a bling flourish from Want2Scrap to finish this little gift bag!  I love making genie bags!

Goodie Box for Discount Cardstock

Here is a cute box I made using some cardstock from Discount Cardstock.  I love how simple this little box was to make and it turned out looking so fancy!  My favorite type of project!  I can't remember where I got the instructions to make this box but when I find them, I will share....its was so simple.

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop

Now I have a project for you that I actually made over the summer.  I created this project for a publication call but it didn't get any love!  So today you are required to give it lots of love!!  LOL

This ensemble is a Genie bag (instructions found HERE on Splitcoaststampers.com) with 4 matching cards.  I used the HCPC 2262 Grandiflora Rose 2 PreCut set with the matching Blossom Nestabilities.  I stamped the roses using Tuxedo Memento ink onto Re-Entry Red Cardstock and cut/embossed them using the cooresponding nestabilities. The leaves are from the HCPC 3319 Simple Filler Stems PreCut Set stamped onto Spring Willow Medium Prismatics.  The sentiments came from the HCPC 3352 Snowy Cardinal PreCut set.  I love how this ensemble turned out and I can't wait to find someone to give it too.

Musical Gift Card Holder

Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a good week.  I have started working on some Christmas projects this week.  I am teaching a class on December 17 @ For Keeps Sake Scrapbook store called Pretty Packaging.  This is one of the projects we will be making!  

 

I used the S4-334 2011 Heirloom Ornament die templates (Spellbinders) to make the holder.  I cut/embossed 2 of the largest dies in the set out of Kraft paper.  I inked the edges using Old Paper Distress Ink and the glued them together along the bottom half, leaving the top open to slide the gift card inside.  To decorate my gift card holder, I used some old book pages that I cut/embossed fromt he same die, the holly leaves from Layered Poinsettia die templates and added a bow and tag.

A Poinsettia Christmas Basket

Yep, you read that right......I am working on Christmas Projects.  Its kinda depressing how fast this year has gone by, isn't it?   Well the project I have to share with you today was easy to make because the die template does all the work!  Here is a basket I made using the Hexagon Petal Grand Template from Spellbinders.

To make this basket, I used 1 sheet of 12 x 12" Sunset Rose Dotted Swiss cardstock.  I cut the sheet to 8 x 12" and cut/embossed using the Hexagon Petal Grand Die.  Then using the left over piece, I cut six 1 x 2" pieces to hold the petals together and a handle that measures 1" x 12.

Here is what my pieces looked like before I started.

To begin, fold up each petal on the "fold" line that is created by the die template.  Its kinda hard to see but you can kinda see it in the picture above.  It should look like this:

Then using a fast dry liquid adhesive, I glued each little 1" piece between each petal.  This will hold the basket together and give you a nice base for each poinsettia flower.

When you are done with this step, here is what your basket will look like!

Now all you have to do is add your handle and decorate the basket with your Poinsettia flowers!  Like I said this was a pretty simple project because I let my Spellbinders die templates do all the work!  Here are a few more close-ups!

A Heartfelt Thank You Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday!  What better way to start your weekend than with a Heartfelt Creations Design Team Blog Hop!  Some of the Heartfelt Creations DT decided to have our own blog hop and you are going to love all the wonderful projects.  If you are following the hop, you should have come from Olga's blog.  If you are just starting this hop here on my blog, please go to Linda Payne's blog to start at the beginning!

I have just love working with Heartfelt Creations products.  From the beautiful stamps to the wonderful die templates, everything is just fabulous.  So here is my project for today's hop expressing my thanks to Emma Lou and Linda, from Heartfelt Creations, for having me on their wonderful team!

I found that cute little pail at Target in the $spot!  I bought a couple so if you read my blog regularly get ready to see a couple more projects!!  LOL   I decorated my pail with stamps, die cuts and ribbon.  Plus I made a matching tag and gift bag.  I don't know what I will put in the pail just yet, but it's going to be something sweet!

Here are some close-ups of my ensemble!

For my gift bag, I made a topper from cardstock.  I cut the Red Linen Cardstock 8 x 8 1/2" and then folded it in half.  Then using a word window punch, I punched a place for the bag handles to come thru.  I cut a slightly smaller piece of Simply Smooth White cardstock and using the Jumbo Scalloped Petite Borderabilities along the bottom for a nice scalloped detail.  On a scrap of Simply Smooth White cardstock, I stamped the strawberry images from HCPC643 Luscious Fruit 1 PreCut Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I just love strawberries!  I colored the images using Copic Markers (exact list at end of post) and fussy cut the images.  I placed these images on the topper using 3d foam squares and added the red gingham ribbon bow.  I also added another bunch of berries at the bottom of the bag.  Here is my bucket with tag!

I stamped the strawberry image and colored again but this time I cut/embossed it using Petite Ovals Lg #6 (with #1 being the smallest).  I layered this onto a Labels Ten #5 cut/emboss from Red Linen Cardstock.  I added the red gingham ribbon bow using a glue dot.  I attached this to my bucket using Score-tape.  Along the top of the bucket, I added a die cut from white cardstock using the border die from HCD702 Decorative Butterfly-Border die.  I use this set of dies ALOT.  The border is so versatile plus there is a wonderful butterfly and a decorative swirl that are just beautiful!

I stamped the small strawberries from the HCPC 643 Luscious Fruit 1 PreCut Set, colored and cut them out again.  The sentiment is from HCPC3330 Elegant Autumn Swirl PreCut Set.  The stamp actually says "day of Thanks" but I only inked up the "thanks" part!  I used the decorative border die along the bottom of my tag to give it some interest!  So there you have it!  My "berry" best way to say "Thank You!"  LOL!!

Some Easter Ideas!

Here is an ensemble that I made for the Heartfelt Creations blog today.  I used a template from Splitcoaststampers called, Round Top Box.  This can be found in the Try A New Technique forum HERE.  I love this little box.  Its so easy to make cause you just print the template right onto the cardstock!  Here is my project and I will tell you how I made it!

 

I printed the Round Top Box Template onto some Hawaiian Shores cardstock.  Then I cut and scored it.  Before putting my box together, I stamped easter eggs from Egg-citing Day PreCut Set all over it using Versmark ink.  Then I put my box together using some Scor-tape.  I stamped the cute bear image onto some Simply Smooth White cardstock using Tuxedo Black memento ink and colored him with Copic Markers.  I used my patterned paper to pick my colors.  This patterned paper is made by Kaisercraft.  I layered the bear image onto a Eyelet Pendant and Big Scalloped Circle die cuts.  The box was completed by adding a scalloped border of patterned paper and some ribbon, pearls and a die cut from the Eyelet Pendant set.

The shaped card was made using the Big Scalloped Circles Lg set.  I add some celery cardstock and patterned paper layers plus another piece from the Eyelet Pendant set.  The sentiment is from the Wrought Iron Cross PreCut Set and was stamped onto white cardstock using Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  I finished off the card with ribbon, pearls and another accent piece from the Eyelet Pendant set.

This was is a cut set, don't you think?  I mailed it off to Heartfelt Creations yesterday!  So you might see it in their booth at retail shows.  Did you know Heartfelt Creations goes to tons of shows each year.  Their booth is so awesome! Do You Use Stickers?

Well, I don't use stickers much anymore.  Since I found stamps, my use of stickers has been almost zero!  But last week I went into my local LSS - For Keeps Sake - and they had SRM Stickers.  These are such neat stickers!  Sentiment stickers that are clear and can go on just about any color cardstock.  Here is a lunch bag that I turned into a super cute gift bag!

 

I created a window in my bag and added some acetate.  I made the window using the Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities and some Chamois Cascata Felt cardstock to make a frame.  I used those same dies to make the rolled flowers!  The leaves of my flowers are Scalloped Paisley Nestabilities.  This was fun to make and quick, too.  So if you forget that gift bag next time your daughter has a birthday party, you know you can make one really quick!!  Plus if you have some SRM Stickers, it will be super easy.

I have two projects for today's hop.  Here is my first project!  I used the new Die Cut Dimensions - Wild Flowers Card Toppers to make this cute little bag. 

 

To make this little bag, I used the Labels One Grand Nestabilities and my Grand Caliber machine.  I cut/embossed 2 pink Grand Labels One #4 (with 1 being the smallest) and then made a small little box to connect them.  To make this small insert just cut a piece of cardstock to 3 1/2" x 11, score it on each end at 3 1/2" and down the long sides at 1/4".  Snip from the edge of the cardstock to the score line in the middle and glue the flaps to your Labels.  Clear as mud?  It is really easy!

The beautiful Flower Soft Topper I used is called Die Cut Dimensions - Wild Flowers.  The little flowers are partially cut so you can pop them up to get a very detailed look.  Here is a close-up:

I added some Flower Soft Peony Pink mixed color to the middle of the flowers.  I popped them out using a stylus.  The sentiment is from the Assorted Wishes Sentiment Toppers.  I cut out the sentiment and layered it onto a Fancy Tag die.  I added the pearl brads and put some paper doilies behind it to enhance the vintage look. 

Here is another project I made using a new color from Flower Soft called Neon Green!

First I stamped the little boy from the Charlie's Ark In the Air Rubber Stamp.  I colored him with my Copic Markers and cut him out.  Then I stamped the paper and the sentiment onto a bigger panel of white and colored that in with Copics, too.  I added the Flower Soft Neon Green to some of the papers and it gives quite a pop!
