Hello friends. Hope your week is going well so far. Never fear it's Wednesday, so happy hump day! Today I have a fairly simple project to share with you using the Blushing Rose Collection from Heartfelt Creations. I saw Jennifer McGuire use this technique a few weeks ago and I loved it. I decided to give this technique a try with the supplies I had. So here is my results!
Other Products: Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper; Flirty Flamingo & Kraft Cardstock; Versamark Embossing ink, Clear embossing powder, Heat tool, Jet Black Staz-on ink; twine; Labels die – Spellbinders Paper Arts; Recollections Mini brads – Michael’s; Zig Clean Color Markers – Pink Flamingo, Mid Green, Olive Green; Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers – Clear, Solar Red, Moonlight; MISTI Stamp Positioner
Instructions: This card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" when complete. To begin, cut two pieces of cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4", one in flamingo and one from the Bristol. Using a stamp positioner, stamp the Blushing Rose Swirls stamp across the bottom 3" of the flamingo cardstock using embossing ink. Sprinkle on the clear embossing powder and heat set. Using the same stamp in the Stamp Positioner, stamp along the bottom 3" of the Bristol white cardstock using Jet Black Staz-on ink trying to get the stamp in the same spots as the white layer. Stack the two layers together and cut 2" off the bottom of each.
Use the markers noted above to color the white layer as shown. Cut the base of the card from Kraft cardstock to measure 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold it at 4 1/4". Adhere the bottom 2" portion of the white layer along the bottom of the card base. Adhere the top portion of the flamingo layer into place. Cut a 1/2" strip of kraft cardstock and adhere into place as shown. Tie some twine into a knot along this kraft strip. Stamp sentiment onto white cardstock using black ink and die cut using a label die. Adhere into place using 3d foam squares. Attach mini brads into the 4 corners to finish the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
