Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

Today I created a project using the Hope You Can Cling To - 'Ta Ta Toe' challenge!  Funny title for a challenge, don't you think?  I sure thought so but when I checked out the challenge I was so inspired.  For this challenge, you are to use the Tic Tac Toe board provided showing the different items you can use.  Just like in the regular Tic Tac Toe game, you need three boxes/items to make your card.  You can see the Tic Tac Toe board and more about this challenge HERE at Splitcoaststampers.

I decided to go diagonally on the Tic Tac Toe board, so I chose - Patterned Paper, Ribbon and Distressing. For the patterned paper portion of my card, I decided to stamp my own using It's A Blizzard Outside stamp.  I stamped white cardstock with Versamark and then applied some heat 'n stick powder.  Once that is heat set, I then applied Blue Skies You're So Fine Glitter.  After heat setting again, I made my card.

I used some kraft cardstock for the base of this 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" card.  As you can see, I distressed the light blue cardstock using a distressing tool.  I cut my square of "patterned paper" and lightly sponged some Weathered Wood distress ink around the outside edges. 

The snowflake for this card is made using the Create -A-Flake Four from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.  There is kind of a trick to putting this snowflake together so here are some handy pictures to help you out!

You will need all the little pieces from the die to assemble this snowflake.  I assembled mine on a Labels Four die cut using Scrap Happy Sheer Glue.  Here is what it looks like.

Then I added another snowflake cut/embossed from the light blue cardstock.  Plus I layered on another snowflake from the set.  For the sentiment, I stamped the Merry Christmas (elegant) stamp onto white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad. Using the A-2 Matting Basics A, I positioned the die into place with some temporary tape and cut/embossed.  

I positioned the sentiment onto the snowflake and finished the card by adding some white ribbon.
