I'm Back! What A Great Trip!

Well, I am back from my fantastic trip to Phoenix, AZ for the Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Design Team Retreat.  It was wonderful.  I sure did need to get away because the day before I left Keith had another kidney stone drama.  Thankfully Keith is recovered and all is well!

For the DT retreat, we all decided to have a swap.  Just alittle something that is about you or where you live.  I decided to make a tag for a bag full of my favorite goodies that I like to have on a trip.....you know, small travel size Kleenex, chocolate, mints, chocolate, cookies, chocolate......well you get the idea!  LOL

Here is the tag I made!

I used a selective cutting technique to create the top of the tag.  I will have a tutorial on this for you in a couple of days (as soon as I can see my desk).    Here is a list of all my supplies with links:

You wouldn't believe the amount of goodies I came home with from the retreat.  Once I get my table cleaned off, I will take a few pictures.  I learned so much on this trip and made some wonderful new friends!  Can't wait for this year to start.....its going to be quite a wonderful ride!

Just Be You!

I have a card to share with you today featuring the new line of cardstock, Pop-Tones, that is now available at Discount Cardstock.  The Pop-Tones line of cardstock is full of vibrant colors and the weight of the cardstock is so nice - 65#, 100# & 140#.  It die cuts beautifully, too!  I had alot of fun making this card!

The base of my card is Posh Bright White Linen 100# cardstock cut to 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" then folded in half.  I cut strips of Berrylicious, Blu Raspberry & Sour Apple Pop-Tones cardstock.  Using the E8-002 Classic Bracket Edgeabilities, I added the edge detail on the strips and layered them on the base of my card.  I used a stamp from Unity Stamp Co and cut/embossed it using S4-161 Lables One Nestabilities #3.  I added some little details that I cut/embossed from S5-034 Parisian Accents.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Featured Stamper Sunday!

This next week is going to be so hectic.  I decided to make my Sunday a day to relax and recharge.  So after church, I decided to see who was the Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers this week.  So here is what I made for this challenge.

I used some brand new papers I just got called London Market from Pink Paislee.  I just love this whole collection.  When I saw the sneak peek of the papers on the Pink Paislee blog, I just knew I had to have it!  ;)

The card base is New Piggy Pink Cardstock 70# Smooth.  I also used some Kraft cardstock that I cut/embossed the bottom edge using the E8-002 Classic Bracket Edgeabilities.  I also used the Classic Bracket on the bottom of the pink cardstock that I attached the patterned paper.  The stamps are from the same collection by Pink Paislee.  I stamped the butterflies onto the New Piggy Pink cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and cut them out.  I added the rhinestone flourishes and stickles to the butterflies, too.

It's Spring....So Bloom!

Hello!  I have been busy getting ready for my trip next week to Phoenix for the Spellbinders Design Team retreat.  I am so excited!  I took time to set down at my crafty table to work on a card for a dear friend.  What do you think?

I used some new cardstock from Discount cardstock for this card called Pop-Tones Cardstock.  I really love this cardstock.  Its a very sturdy weight, die cuts and heat embosses beautifully plus it comes in some really yummy colors.  Be sure to check it out!

Now to make this card I cut my base out of Berrylicious Pop-Tone Cardstock 100#.  I layered together some Neenah Solar White cardstock 80# with the Berrylicious.  Using the Spring Fling Stamp set from Teresa Collins, I stamped the flourish using Baja Breeze ink from SU. (yes, its a perfect match)  I stamped the flower image onto a scrap of the Berrylicious using Versamark ink and sprinkled some White Detail embossing powder on.  After heat setting the embossing powder, I cut out the blooms.  I cut/embossed a S5-025 Labels Seventeen #3 from Neenah Solar White Cardstock and then stamped the "Bloom" sentiment using the Baja Breeze ink.  I assembled the card and used pop dots for the flowers and sentiment.  I added the pearl stickers as a final touch.

The Pop-Tones Cardstock line is my new favorite cardstock.  I hope you will give it a try!  You can bet I will be getting all the colors as soon as I can!

Distress Markers & Thank You Cards!

My girls were off school last Friday and we went to the mall.  This mall is pretty far away and we don't go there very often.  It's probably best for me that we don't go there very often since it has an Archiver's!  LOL  Guess what they had?  Yep, Tim Holt Distress Markers!  They were just released at CHA and I bought myself a few.  I needed to make some thank you cards for the birthday girl to send out and thought it would be a great idea to try out my new markers.  Here is what I made!

I used my new favorite 6x6 paper pad, Miss Caroline-Howdy Doddy from My Mind's Eye.  The base of my cards is Neenah Solar White Smooth Cardstock #110.  Its a very sturdy cardstock that is perfect for bases.   The stamp is from Springtime Silhouettes (Gina K. Designs).  Since this is a solid stamp, I colored directly onto the stamp with my new markers!  After coloring, just give it a little huff and stamp it!  I used Barn Door, Mustard See, Worn Lipstick & Shabby Shutters.  I stamped onto some Simply Smooth White cardstock that I cut/embossed using S4-310 Labels Eighteen.  The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped using Rich Cocoa Memento ink pad.  I added some Winter White seam binding ribbon to complete my card.  I made 12 of these cards using various papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  Fun!!

My Art Journal!

So I am taking a class that includes some art journaling.  So I got out my supplies and got busy. I bought an art journal at Micheal's a couple of months ago.  I covered the front with some Kraft paper using some Mod Podge to attach it to the cover.  After it dried, I used some white pigment ink and sponged around the edges.

I used the LF-109 Grand Labels Four #6 to cut/emboss out the black/white checked paper.  The strip of roses patterned paper was cut/embossed using E8-001 Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  The words are stickers that I sponged around the edges.  All the other stuff was from a sticker sheet that matched the Iron Orchid Design paper kit. 

Now I will have to get my courage up and actually journal in this art journal.  I have really never considered myself an "artist" so this should be quite an experience.  Do you do any art journaling?  If you want, leave me a link and I will check yours out!
