The project I would like to share with you today is a scrapbook page I created using some Iron Orchid Designs patterned paper, cardstock from Discount Cardstock , Want2Scrap Nestabling and stamps/dies from Heartfelt Creations.

 
To start my page, I stamped Leafy Swirls PreCut set using Antique Linen distress ink in the corners of a 12 x 12" piece of Kraft cardstock.  On a piece of Posh Black Linen 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock, I adhered a piece of Posh Red Linen cut/embossed using Grand Labels 4 (die #6 in the set - remember #1 is the smallest).  I cut a piece of my patterned paper to mat onto the black cardstock and added the strip of black/white diamond paper.  I used a scalloped edge punch for that detail.  I matted my photo onto the black cardstock and adhere it into place.  I cut/embossed a Lacey Oval die template out of black cardstock and adhered the matching Want2Scrap Nestabling Rhinestones. I added my computer generated journaling that says:  Caitlyn Your bright smiling face is so beautiful!  Never stop believing in yourself and always keep smiling!  To make the flower, I used the Posy Patch Flowers PreCut Set and matching Posy Patch dies out of Posh Red Linen cardstock.  The leaves were cut from some Spring Willow Medium Prismatic cardstock and Foilage Shapeabilities Dies.

You can see in this up close shot that I stamped the Posy Patch flowers using Versamark and embossed them using Clear Embossing powder.  I added a clear rhinestone in the middle to go with the Nestabling around the Lacey Oval. 

I think my page turned out great and I can't wait to give it to my daughter.  I am a proud and lucky mom to have such a girl who is beautiful inside and out!  She hates it when I show her off but I think she will forgive me this time since the page came out so good!   Now it's time to hop on to the next blog - Selma's Stamping Corner - to see the next great project!  Be sure to comment for your chance to win some Heartfelt Creations Stamps!  Good luck and enjoy!

Just For Fun!

Well, you can probably tell that I haven't really been creating much lately.  My family life definitely has been my focus these past few months.  With my oldest daughter graduating from high school and then leaving for college a few weeks ago plus being the mom to two daughter's still at home, life has been super hectic to say the least.  It's just been this past week that things have "calmed" down and I could even look at my craft table and feel the urge to create something just for fun!  That is what I did yesterday and today.....created just for fun!

Here is what I made!!

I got together with my Stampin' Sisters a few weeks ago and while looking at the mini catalog from Stampin' Up, I fell in love with this set called On The Grow.  It's fun to color and it was super easy to make these simple "Thinking of You" cards using this set.  I used up some patterned paper scraps I had and added some ribbon to complete these easy cards.

For these cards, I used a stamp from the What I Know August Kit of the Month from Unity Stamps.  The patterned paper is from Iron Orchid Designs.  I used some Want2Scrap Nestabling that I cut apart so that I had the same bling on both cards.

These were some fun cards to make and it felt really good to create just because I felt the urge.  Guess I was suffering from a creative block and didn't really realize it.  Probably just me freaking out because my daughter moved away from home to go to college.  I am a really clingy mom!  LOL

Here is my Anything But a Card project for today's hop!

    

For this wall hanging, I used the Grand Nestabilities Label Four (#6 - largest) to cut out some Ivory Premium #67 cardstock and adhered this to a piece of lightweight chipboard using Flower Soft Glue.  This glue works great on 3d projects!  I use it on almost all of mine!  After adhering these together, I sponged the edges with Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink.  Using the Grand Nestabilities Classic Oval #6, I cut/embossed Gold Polish Cardstock adhering that to my base.  Using my printer and word processing program, I printed out the poem (found here) onto the Ivory Premium #67 cardstock and then cut/embossed using the Grand Nestabilities Classic Oval #5.  After adhering that into place, I added the die cuts and flowers.   You can click on the photo to see a bigger picture of this wall hanging and that will allow you to easily read the poem.

For the center of my flowers, I used Diamond Range Gold and Flower Soft glue was used to assemble my flower layers.
