Today I have been experimenting with some old brass stencils I found. Here is what my brass stencil looks like:
I bought it at Wal-mart awhile back when dry embossing first started being so popular. I thought, at the time, I would use the stencil with my light table and stylus. Well, you guessed I never did. But when I was going thru a pile of stuff, I remembered that on my Spellbinder's retreat, Stacey Caron showed us how to use Brass stencils in the Wizard.
Here is the result!!
I used the Sketch Challenge #233 from Splitcoast Stampers for my layout. The patterned paper is some retired stuff from Stampin' Up! I used the Flowers Impressabilities and Grey Core'dinations cardstock on the scalloped rectangle - I sanded it when finished to show off the embossing. Its hard to see but the burgundy scalloped rectangle was embossed with the same Impressabilities, too. I then ran the brass stencil and the Grey Core'dinations cardstock thru my Wizard using the following sandwich: white master mat, brass stencil, cardstock, tan mat & white embossing mat. Just one time thru the Wizard, then some sanding to show the embossing off and your done. Easy!! So if you have some brass stencils you haven't used in a long time, get them out!! Emboss with them in your Wizard!!
Be sure to check out this announcement on the Spellbinder's Blog ! Cool!
Talk to you tomorrow!!
