Mojo Monday on Tuesday!! LOL

Here is what I made today.  This card uses the colors from the color combo challenge on Splitcoast and the Monday Mojo sketch from Verve.  (Yep, this is a new challenge I just found yesterday!)

Supplies Used:  Celebrate Everything stamp set & So Swirly jumbo wheel;  Garden Green, Pacific Point & Baja Breeze Cardstock and Classic Ink pads, sponge, Styled Silver HPH and Pacific Point Ribbon

Garden green is not a color I normally use.  In fact, I had to cut into a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock to make this 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" card.  But I think its a good combo, don't you? 

I will post more later in the week.  With the kids being home, I am never sure just what I can get done, KWIM?  LOL

Hearts on Fire.....

Here's a card I made for this week's color combo challenge.  The colors to use are Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose & Kiwi Kiss.  I decided to use the Embossing Resist technique to make my own background paper.  First I stamped the swirly from the Priceless set using versamark and embossed that with clear embossing powder.  Then I used a sponge and dabbed on the Regal Rose & Kiwi Kiss.  Then I stamped the swirly using Bravo Burgundy.  I used the stamp set called Hearts on Fire from Verve for the heart image and the sentiment.  I colored in the heart with a copic marker and I used some Burgundy grosgrain to attach the Hodge Podge Hardware frame.  I am bound and determined that I am using all that stuff up before I buy more, know what I mean?

I will tell you that I don't think this card is my best, but I do love how the Stampin' Up! Priceless set goes with the heart stamp.  Don't you love versatile sets?  I even used the Priceless stamp set to make some Bridal Luncheon invitations last week.  Its a great set!

Learn a New Technique plus a card sketch, too!

This week, I am a little behind in posting - sorry!  We spent the weekend in Kansas City with my oldest daughter - the University of MO Midwest Honor Band.  It was a great weekend just really hectic and I am finally catching up.  Here is a card I made using the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and the card sketch for this week, too. 

The Faux Mosaic technique is pretty easy.  You can find the directions HERE.  I kinda covered up my Mosaic with the other stuff but you get the idea.  I printed the sentiment out on my computer and used a retired piece of Hodge Podge Hardware with it.  I am all out of the antique brads that go with this frame so I just threaded some ribbon thru it.  So there is a new idea for today if that has happened to you.

Supplies Used:  Love You Much Stamp set; Raspberry Tart DSP, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette & Whisper White cardstock; Rose red classic ink pad; Rose Red grosgrain ribbon, HPH, Gold Embossing Powder, Terrifically Tacky Sheet

This will make a great wedding card, don't you think?   I have a dear friend getting married on Valentine's Day, so romantic!!  This will be great for the happy couple!  I will have more to share tommorrow.

Color Challenge.....

The color challenge on Splitcoast this week is one I am sure you are familiar with as I have used it more than once.  The colors this week are:  Kraft, Not Quite Navy & Baja Breeze.  I have made a few cards using this color combo and really like it.  Here is my card:

The lacy punch is by Martha Stewart and I picked it up at Wal-mart the other day.  Then yesterday while looking thru my new catalog, what do I see?  Stampin' Up! has something really similar in the punch section, YEAH!!  I can't wait to get it.

I used the Medallion technique again.  I really like it and it makes a unique card.

I used my background stamp Bella Toile and the Dream du Jour stamp set, too.  I colored in my flowers with markers and used some Rhinestone brads in the corner.  I just love those little butterflies in the Dreams du Jour set.  I noticed alot more butterfly stuff in the new catalog, too.  If you are wanting a new catalog and have never placed an online order, you can get a new 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalog.  Starting January 18, place an online order with me and you will receive a FREE catalog.  Its a good deal!!

Simply Said Thank You....

Wednesday is sketch challenge day over at Splitcoast Stampers.  This week it took me awhile to get the card together.  I think its because the paper I choose is not really my style. 

This is Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper.  Its very pretty but kinda wild, don't you think?  I got my catalogs today.

Everything is so pretty and there is tons of new stuff I want.   Before I buy a bunch of new stamp sets though, I want to get some ink on those sets I haven't used in a while.  I think my mission is going to be use at least one stamp set a week that hasn't been used in a long time.  Sound good?  Just like I am using my stash of accessories, too.  Did you notice?  Buttons, Flowers and Hodgepodge hardware!  Plus in the middle of each little flower is some stickles, for that added shimmer.

Monday's TLC Origami Box

This is the Technique Challenge this week at Splitcoast Stampers.  When I started making this box, I had an inspiration.  Do your kids watch the PBS show Arthur?  Well, my kids use to everyday and even though they are 14 and 12, the olders girls still will watch it occasionally.  I had this mouse holding a heart stamp from Happy Heart Day on my stamping desk and it hit me.  One of our favorite episodes of Arthur is when Buster has to sell candy for the band fundraiser.  He asks a lady - Would you like to by some Mousewatering Detestable Chocolates?  We always laugh at that.  The other day one of the girls even asked me this!! Too funny.

So for Valentine's Day they are getting this box filled with Mousewatering Detestable Chocolates!!  What do you think?

This is the top.  I used some retired Stampin' Up! Valentine's paper I had plus I printed the saying out on the computer.  I cut the tag out with my spellbinder's dies and added vintage brads plus ribbon.   Here is the side view.

The box is Origami so you don't even have to use tape or anything.  It took me a few minutes to figure it out but once you do, its really cute!  Hope you have a great day!!

I have been playing around today!  Here is what I came up with.....

This card uses the medallion technique I showed you a month or so ago.  I found the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers.  It was fun to make and looks so fancy, don't you think?

Let's Party!

Here is a card I made for a design call but it wasn't picked up.  Oh well, I love sharing with you guys, anyway!!

The stamp set is from Flourishes.  Its called Summer on the Patio.  Its a very elegant stamp set and not my usual style.  I am not really sure why I purchased it but it has some nice images.  I used Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock from Stampin' Up! I have to say that I don't think you can get better cardstock than Stampin' Up!  The patterned paper is unknown because I got it in a 6 x 6 paper share that I participated in.  The images were stamped using Palette Hybrid Noir ink pad.  The silver frame is from Stampin' Up!'s Styled Silver Hodge Podge Hardware but I used some rhinestone brads from the Pretties Kit to fasten it.  I used my Ticket Corner Punch on everything.  I think I got alittle carried away but its a nice effect!!

Hope you are having a great week.  With the kids missing school on Tuesday and me forgetting to set the alarm Monday morning, its been quite a chaotic week.  I will be glad to start a new week fresh next week!!  NO more snow days, please.
