WOW! Been Awhile?

Sorry it's been awhile since I last posted.   Christmas is over and I am glad.  Did Santa bring you what you wanted?  Or did he make some mistakes?  You be the judge on this present.  I think BIG mistake but I will shamefully wear them whenever the kids are around (for awhile)

Yep, I feel like Mrs. Clause when I wear them!

Here are some cards I have been working on the past two days.

  This is for a Winter Mini Catalog swap I mailed off on December 20.  I should be getting those cards back any day!

Supplies Used:  Carte Postale & Itty Bitty Backgrounds Stamp Sets, Sage Shadow, Perfect Plum Cardstocks, Enchante' Designer Paper; Sage Shadow, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum Classic Ink; Narrow White Organdy Ribbon

This is a design I am fiddling with for a Blogger's Valentine Swap I am signed up for.  I have until January 8 to come up with a final card but I feel alittle blocked creatively right now.  Maybe the next few days, I will feel my creative juices start to flow!   The thing I don't like about this card is there is only 1 stamped image.  Just doesn't seem right, you know?

Supplies Used:  Loving Hearts Stamp Set; Rebecca Designer Papers; Flirty Ribbon, Rose Grosgrain Ribbon; Kraft and Regal Rose Cardstock;  Regal Rose Classic Ink; Marvy Uchida Giga Oval Scalloped Punch.

The best part about this card is the color combo.  I paired Vintage Violet with Rose Red. It works surprising well together.  Now I just need to improve my choice of stamp sets!

I hope you all had a very blessed Christmas!  I did, despite the slippers!  Now I am off to make dinner with my new Quesadilla Maker.  Like I said, Santa sometimes makes BIG mistakes!!

Thank you so much to all who have posted about their New Year's Eve traditions.  I really enjoyed reading what everyone does.  I really think I want to change ours to a big costume party!  That sounds like so much fun, hmmmm....  We will see about next year!  To all those who posted, if you will send me your snail mail address, I will send you some goodies I have laying around that need a good home.  I have cleaned out my stamping room and have surprises to share!  It will be my christmas gift to you!  So I need addresses from:  Cheryl, Adelle, Connie, Linda, Jan S. and Rose.  I have Dawn G's address because SHE sent me the cutest Christmas card ever!  So get to emailling me!!  Thanks, guys!

New Poll

It seems that about 50% of you are almost done with your Christmas shopping.  Wish I was almost done.  I am stuck on what to get my middle child.  Caitlyn is 10 yrs old and pretty hard to buy for, she is still playing with Polly Pockets but wants older kid stuff, too.  I guess that's why they call them tweens!

I have put up a new poll about New Year's Eve.  In our family, it has become a tradition to get together with our very close friends and their families.  For the past few years, we have gotten together and eat snacks, play games and ring in the New Year together.  We added fireworks a couple of years ago and that is fun, too!  The kids really enjoy it.   What is your tradition for New Years.  If I get enough comments about this, there might be a give-away involved!  Start posting!

Frosty the Snowman

Here is what I have been working on all day.  I made 35 of the Frosty card and 15 of the Coldplay card.  Hope you like them!

Supplies Used:  Frosty Stamp Set &  Loads of Love (Sentiment);  Ballet Blue & Whisper White cardstock; Vanilla Craft Pad, Real Red & Basic Black Classic Ink pads; Markers; Versamarker; Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter; Stampin' Dimensionals (r)

Supplies Used:  Coldplay Stamp Set; Barely Banana, Regal Rose, Bliss Blue, Whisper White Cardstock; Bliss Blue, Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery,  Basic Black & Regal Rose Classic Ink Pads; Versamarker; Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and Heat Tool; Celery Grosgrain; UHU Twist & Glue (on the santa hat and scarf)

If you haven't used Heat & Stick Powder, I highly recommend it.  I colored with my Versamarker where I wanted my glitter, put on some Heat & Stick Powder, tapped off the excess.  Using the Heat Tool, heat the powder very quickly until it is shiny.  Then apply the glitter tapping off the excess.  Then you heat again with the Heat Tool.  It is that easy and I feel the glitter stays on better.  I hate when all my glitter falls off and makes a mess when someone opens their card.

Also, I think I wore out my Versamarker.  The end is totally trashed!  I will have to buy a new one.  Considering this is the only Versamarker I have ever had (for 3 years) that was a good investment, don't you think?  If you would like a tutorial on Heat & Stick Powder, just post a comment to this and I will get busy!

Look what I bought!

Isn't this the coolest scrap purse ever?  This is to take with you when you go to crops and scrapbook but I am going to use it for swaps and shoebox swaps.  It has a bunch of different sized pockets and it even has a place for cardstock on the bottom.  I love the colors.  I bought it from a lady who sells scrapbooking supplies at craft shows plus she hosts her own crops.  Right now, Donna is checking on the price of a Cuttlebug for me!  That is what I want for Christmas.

P.S........I added some pictures in the Stampin' Up Designs album.  The pictures are from the craft fair I was in this past weekend.  I sold about half my stuff and talked until I lost my voice!  Plus I met Donna - The Scrapbook Supplies Lady!  Very Fun!

Ice Storm!

This is what the view looked like when the Ice Storm started on Thursday Morning.

I am pretty sure the tree is history, which is no problem for me, because I hate that cedar tree.  But what a mess our yard and driveway has on them.  Alot of trees lost big limbs.  My hubby has his work cut out for him!

Here is my really clean and pretty empty fridge!

  I went to Sam's today to get some more groceries.  It was terrible throwing away food.  Just another reason to get a generator, when we can afford it.  On the bright side, my fridge is the cleanest it has been since we bought it!  Wow, that is kinda sad, actually. LOL

YEAH!

We finally got our electricity about 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.  I am afraid to start relying on it again.  Boy, it sure is a pain when its gone but when you have it you take it for granted, don't you?  Hopefully, much stamping will be accomplished tommorrow.  Hope everyone is recovering from the weather and is doing well.  Talk to you later!
