It's Tuesday again!

That means I am blogging on the DRS Designs blog today!  I have a card to share with you today that uses a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  DRS Designs is sponsoring the Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  If you play along with the challenge, you could win a prize from DRS Designs!

Here is one of the cards I made using this mornings sketch......

 

I used the new release Classic Scalloped Borderabilities Petite behind the sentiment.  It has these holes down the middle of the die cut that I threaded my ribbon thru.  Plus I used the other die in the set along the bottom of my card!  Remember Borderabilities come in sets of 2.  One die cuts along both edges and the other only cuts one edge!  Go on over to the DRS Designs blog for more info and to see my other card.  Hope you have a great day!

Splish Splash!!

Here is a scrapbook page I made for Spellbinders™ Paper Arts using the new release S4-273 From The Sea die templates. 

These dies are so cute and detailed!  You can stencil them for a great result, too!  But for this scrapbook page I used Core'dinations cardstock.  The great thing about this cardstock is that the "core" is one color and the outside is another.  So after cutting/embossing the die templates, I used a sanding block to reveal the great detail of each die cut.  I did the same for the 3 rows of Classic Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite that I put under the photo of my youngest daughter.  I used some black rhinestone sticker embellishments to simulate water and the whole thing is finished! 

Using Core'dinations cardstock is really fun.  I can post a tutorial on how I did the dies if you are interested, just let me know!  Hope you have a great day!

Gotta Love Those Copics!

Here is one of the cards I made as a sample for the Copic Marker Club meeting yesterday at Red Lead Paperworks.  We worked on a couple of blending techniques.  One of the tips I gave last month was to make a note of what colors you used on your project.  Like put a sticky note on the back or something.  That way, if you want to do the card again its not very hard.  Well, guess what?  I didn't even follow my own tip.  I promise to get better with sharing my Copic marker colors.

Supplies Used:

• Stamps - Butterfly Stack, Musical Background Statement Stamp - Red Lead Paperworks
• Cardstock - Kraft, Melon Berry (PTI), Close to Cocoa (SU), Neenah Solor Crest
• Accessories - Copic Markers, S5-011 Scalloped Edge Frame & (S4-191) Dahlia Nestabilities (Spellbinders Paper Arts), Ribbon, pearl brad, recycled Hymnal.

If you would like I can do a tutorial on how I made that recycled Hymnal flower.  Just let me know!  The background is a stamp from Red Lead Paperworks.   I colored the butterflies and then cut them out and popped them up with a foam square.

Birthday Wishes Clown

Sometimes, when I see a new release die template from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts, my mind is full of possibilities.  That's what happened when I received the new release S4-275 Nested Ice Cream Cones.  Here is what I came up with!

Isn't he cute?  I thought so, too!  By turning the ice cream portion of the die upside down, it makes a perfect face shape.  I added Orange Flower Soft for some hair.  Then I cut the Cone out of some Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and added some more Orange Flower Soft at the top.  I used some googly eyes I got from Wal-mart and used chalk to make his cheeks.  I just cut a little strip of cardstock for his mouth and I used a hand-held hole punch to make his nose.  He is mounted onto a new Labels 11 Nestabilities™ and a S5-019 Labels 8 cut from more patterned paper.  The pink layer is embossed using the Circles Impressabilities™.  Along the bottom, I used the Classic Scalloped Borderabilitie® Petite and a Ribbon Tag for the Birthday sentiment. 

I had so much fun making this card.  This was my entry for the Spellbinders™ Paper Arts 2010 Design Team.  I am so honored to have made the Top 24!  Wow, there are some seriously talented paper crafters on this list and I am kinda nervous.  Say a prayer for me and you could send me some creative mojo while your at it!  LOL

Dream, Dream, Dream

Here is another Spellbinders™ project that I can share with you.  I took this picture of my youngest daughter a couple of months ago and to me it just showed her personality so much.  Cassie is a dreamer.  She can sit and look at something and you can almost see her thinking of the possibilities.  I just love that about her.  She just loves Miley Cyrus and "Dream" is one of her favorite songs.  It just all seemed to come together for me on this scrapbook page.

I used Cosmo Crickets Earth Love Collection for the patterned papers.  The scalloped strip is a new Borderabilities® die from Spellbinders™ called S4-239 Classic Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite.  This die is only 5 1/2" long so I had to run it thru the Wizard™ 2+ times to get this long of a strip but the extra time is so worth it!  I threaded some satin ribbon thru the middle holes before attaching it to the page. All three journaling tags were printed using the computer.  I cut/embossed using the S4-246 Labels Eleven die templates #4 & 5.  The dream title was layered onto a S4-206 Reniassance Hearts Pendant.  The bottom S4-139 Double Ended Tag is attached into place with some brads.
